EVERY SINGLE WORD I WROTE a few posts ago is documented along with a letter to the NY Attorney General.

Noel... The tactics that (the supossed) Tyler Morgan uses are against the law. It is illegal to call neighbors, harass relatives, and pose as a law firm that is going to put you in jail. Did you hear me????? They ARE NOT just doing their jobs... they are breaking the law. And before you berate everyone with your high and mighty attitude, realize that people like myself had both married partners lose our jobs within a few months of each other. Not everyone in collection is a deadbeat. My kids suffered terribly along with us.

There is a thing call the Fair Debt Collection act. Look it up before you open your mouth again.

BTW... Try looking up Tyler Morgan on the internet. No website- NOTHING - all I found was this site where people have been illegally duped and harassed.

All the calls seem to have the same pattern.  But they are not a law firm.  Has anyone actually had to go to court or had a judgement??  Let me know.  Most of what they do sounds over the line of the Fair Debt Act

well i guess i am one of the few people who had a surprisingly good experience with Tyler and Morgan. I received a call today from Trey Harris who told me that my creditor who is also my mortgage company was looking to file a judgment against me i requested reasonable payments and he actually agreed to them! The difference between him and the other people who called me was he treated me like a human being! and thats all i wanted to be treated with some respect.

I was told by a person at Tyler & Morgon if i don't pay my debt that I will be going to jail. So scared out of my mind I gave her my info to pay the debt called back a few days later and told her that the funds wont be in my account. She cashed the check anyways. Now I have to go to court for something that I didn't do. An collection agency cant use the criminal justice system to get money out of you. Its plain and simple!

Mr. Right:
If I understand correctly you work FOR Chase.  You are only a tool of production for the company.  Nobody owes YOU anything nor did they borrow from YOU.  A little integrity and humanity in your industry would go along way to change the image of people who do what you do for a living: Collect other people's money.  Wise up. Someday you will be replaced by a "more productive" tool who may be calling you.

There was a very menacing message on our phone today from "Tyler and Morgan". He called himself John Baxter, phone number 813-463-1069 ext. 304. He went into the "pending litigation" routine, "call today, there is a small window of time".

This stuff isn't false. I got a call at 6:34am this morning, and they were looking for my father, who doesn't even live in the same city. And she had the nerve to ask if "you guys" have legal representation. When I called her back at x321, she didn't answer. By the way, how do they get away with passing themselves off as a law firm? I mean, they use a 800 number for God's sake.

So, Pinging Penny, are you implying that you work for the morons at Tyler and Morgan? Is that why you are trying to defend them? I can see the possibilities...you really don't even know how to spell or use punctuation so I'm sure you'd have no job opportunities other than low-life scam/debt collector.

I hope no one's thinking that I'M the one defending the debt collecting morons!!! o_O

As for those receiving ugly calls about past debts, before you even THINK about dealing with those low-lifes, make sure to find out the Statute of Limitations on debt in your state. If your debt's out of SoL (meaning, the time limit has expired), then you can freely tell those morons to kiss your butt!! Once the SoL has expired, all they can do is scream and whine about the debt.

Also, if they threaten to sue you after the SoL's expired, they're breaking the law. They're violating the Fair Debt Collection Practice Act, since they're prohibited from making threats they can't actually act on.

All debtors out there: RESEARCH your debts!!! And don't let those cretins intimidate you!!!

Educating others about the FDCPA and Bankruptcy law isn't "playing games."

The fact is, most (not all, I'm sure) CAs turn their profit from uneducated consumers (and by "uneducated" I mean those who aren't aware of their rights as consumers) whom they can threaten and intimidate into forking over their hard-earned cash to pay debts that might be out of the statute of limitations for their state.

So inflamed emotions are going to be present -- any time that a consumer is threatened with dire consequences simply arising from a foolish mistake made in youth or from having to weather a few hardships and being unable to pay, people are going to be stressed out.  Stress = emotional, visceral response.

Add unscrupulous CAs chiming in and either berating those for suffering from those misfortunes or, worse,  misleading consumers to manipulate them into paying on debts they are no longer legally obligated to pay off, you have even more vitriol.

Comprehende vous?

About a year ago, a Lisa Denton (Not Donna) called me from Tyler Morgan from a NY number. Said she was a law firm representing Creditor's Interchange, a collection firm from Buffalo NY. She lied, used every scare tactic in the book, including law suit, garnish wages, jail for my wife and I, etc... by the way, according to the fair collection debt act, this is all totally illegal.

My business went under, my wife was laid off but Ms. Denton didn't care. For anyone who was contacted by her, she had a southern accent. The following week she gave me a Georgia number to contact her by and the NY number was no longer in service.

When I called creditors interchange they didn't know who Lisa denton was but transferred me to a number that could help me. An answering machine message picked up and I was blown away... it was Lisa Denton's southern drawl, but using a different name as an employee at CI. Holy crap - what a massive scam!

She finally called me and I confronted her, and she denied she was the same person. five minutes later, the answering machine message was changed with another person's voice at creditor's interchange. The very next day I was told that person no longer worked at CI and NO ONE EVER heard of Lisa Denton.

These evil bastards will do anything to get your money. I would LOVE to find this b***h Denton and have her in jail. And Creditor's Interchange is equally to blame. When I went to the NY Better Business website, there were tons of formal complaints and judgments against these bastards.

Well, my daughter unfortunately had the same experience with these people on the 4th of November. Same message implying they're a law firm, they had to speak to her or a decision was going to be made against her, etc. Fortunately, she called me and I came over (I'm an attorney) and we called them back but I didn't identify myself as one but acted as her husband. Used a speaker phone and taped the conversation as well as taped and saved the original message on the answering machine. They are definitely in violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collections and Practices Act (1978) (Google it) as well as subsequent state laws here in PA. When I directly asked "Mana Vega" (ext. 307)if she was an attorney and are they a law firm she avoided the answer and said she was calling to inform me that a "petition" had been filed in her office against my daughter.(used her name). I repeated my question asking for the name of an attorney in her office licensed to practice in PA and to give me their Attorney ID # at which point she put me on hold. Another person came on the line who I presume was Vega's supervisor at which point I repeated my questions. He then said they weren't a law firm but a "Mediation" firm. So I said in other words you're a collection agency masquerading as a law firm. He then said with a great deal of sarcasm "Do you know what mediation means?" at which point I stated I do and gave him a brief education of the law. And said goodbye and hung up. We'll have transcripts made of the tapes, wait a week and see if they call again and also see if they send the 5 day letter identifying the debt and who they are that's required of them under the FDCPA 1978 and either way send what we have to the attorney general's offices in PA and FL with a formal complaint. Please check th e FDCPA. You have rights and they're broadly violating them.

I received a call today on my cellphone from Tyler & Morgan, asking for my ex-husband I haven't had contact with in 8 years. I have no idea how they got my name or number, I am remarried and have a different surname. Clearly a shady organization by the looks of it.

I am being harrassed, along with my 76 year old mother, for "some business" regarding my brother.  To those that say "call back, or talk to someone, handle your business,"  that's impossible to do because these people just holler and make demands, don't let the caller speak, or don't leave any information for my brother to call back and "handle his business."  Caller ID numbers, when called back are invalid. Plus, I'm sure that harrassing family members is illegal, thus, please file a complaint with the attorney general's office of Florida.  It's a start, you can do it online and it doesn't take very long at all.

Mr to the point come on, betcha your paychecks come from Tyler & Morgan. Duh, possibly, people cant pay their bills jerko because of the economy & layoffs. or is it you havent kept up on current events. Financially our country is in meltdown and we all are in the same sinking ship.  Collecting a debt is one thing, but devulging personal info to about a debt is in violation of HIPPA ACT and The Patriot Acts. This woman Marie read my income tax figures to my sister over the phone. I question why Marie would have a copy of my tax form anyway. What else would these people do with our personal records. I didnt just fall off the turnip wagon. Mr Right to the point, sing your praises for this company somewhere else, they are corrupt.

This company, who claims to be a law frim, is not in any way shape of form. They represent themselves as a pre-legal firm and thatthey have every right to take action against you.  I had asked for the paperwrok from them, and they stated that they do not have to do anything of the sort.  From there, it went down hill.  This firm is bogus as they have tried going through Bass and Associates (Florida and Georgia)then another firm in New York, if I find the name again, I will post it for you.  All of these firms are not properly registered with any state agency, entity or state law firm associated with any state.  To stop them in thier tracks, when ever you speak to someone with in the offices, and thay state that they are in or assoicate with a law firm, ask that person for thier "STATE BAR ID NUMBER", as they have to give you that number as required by law.  If they do not do so, inform that person that you are going to contact the States Attorneys Offices for that particular state.
Good Luck!
