Person called offering me a free cooler and catalog.  Once I said OK.  They told me they will also send some floecent light bulbs.  I told them I didn't want the bulbs but to feel free to send me the cooler.  They said well how about I send some incandesent bulbs?  I said no, I tell you what forget the cooler just send me a catalog and I'll look it over.  To which they replied "Oh.." *click* and they hung up the phone.

This company keeps calling us and wanting to sell lights. We can't give out the contact information per our company but can transfer the call. When we say this they hang up, when asked the name of the company they will not tell us and hang up again. They call 4 to 5 times a day. We are a call center which they are tying up our lines

This company sent us some light bulbs back in February, and then wanted us to pay the invoice. One of our uneducated warehouse workers answered the call and they told him they were going to send him a bunch of "free stuff (cooler or some promotional thing)" which my guy here gave them our address, but then they took a recording and edited out the part of our guy denying their services.

Apparently it is one of those scams that they send you a pallet of overpriced supplies that are very cheap if you buy them yourself. They expect the invoice they send along with the shipment to get paid. Then if you receive their products, and later call to reject them they make you pay the shipping and or charge you a "restocking" fee.

The FTC has a few good articles on telemarketers, and these guys are relentless in harassing us. In the FTC guidelines they say to treat anything anyone sends you unauthorized as a "free gift".

I've gotten calls from this place before, I can usually catch them and hang up or make them angry enough to hang up.  But this time, after I hung up, they called back saying what's the deal, his is an electrician and they need to talk with the maintenance guy, they just hung up with him.  He said he's standing in line at the Home Depot getting our part, he's on his way out to us, tell him it's "Frank".  (We don't have a Home Depot within 50 miles of our small town and we wouldn't hire an electrician in the first place.)  I put him on hold to radio maintenance to see if they really are expecting anyone.  They hung up after I put them on hold.  How can someone work for a company that lies and is so incredibly deceitful and manipulative!  It's so frustrating!   People can be so terrible.

We just got a call from this number today the guy wanted to know who was the purchasing agent and he sounded like a jerk. hung up on him.

There are multiple variations of this scam and they're mostly run by the same person or people.

Another scam involves calling offices and running this same scam except with rolls of clear shipping tape. They call up a secretary or receptionist asking to "verify" the address and when you give it to them, they rattle off a fast statement about free tape and all you have to do is pay shipping, then they say "thank you" and hang up. Pretty soon, you get a big box of cheap tape and an invoice for 10 times what you would pay for the same tape anywhere else. If you don't pay they call up screaming at you and threatening to send it to collections. If you try to return it, they will not give you their address and if you somehow manage to figure it out, they will bill you a ridiculously high "return and restocking fee".

Our maintenance guy fell for this scam and purchased the light bulbs.  They have been told by our accounts payable department that they can have a truck pick up the bulbs but that we are not shipping them back at our cost. They call two-three times a week.  I always talk to the same individual and tell him the phone number of our accounts payable department.  They always yell at me because they can't reach whom they want to reach at this number.  It's so frustrating.  Don't fall for this scam which goes on and on and on and on. . .

Just go a call from 1-813-514-1481.  Guy asked for "whoever was in charge of Maintenance".  I told him we were very small company and performed all of our own maintenance.  I asked him what he was trying to sell and he said "nothing."  I then asked him what he needed with someone in Maintenance for then.  He skirted around until finally he said it was about our buildings and then finally "lighting."  I told him we were capable of putting in and buying our own light bulbs.  He got mad at me and said "you have went all around everything but telling me who I can talk to in Maintenance!"  I said "That's right.  And you can't talk to anyone without getting through me!"  And I hung up.

Got a call from this number this morning, a man asking for whoever was in charge of maintenance. We're a car business, so I asked him "Maintenance of what?". He replied, "the building". I told him that was me, and he called me a rude name and hung up on me. Sounds like that was a good thing!

Drew, Robert, and Gus have called from several numbers representing Commercial Lighting Company (CLC).  They never want to talk to just the secretary, they ask for the maintenance director and hang up when I press for more information.  They call from (813) 435-8389, 935-4448, 514-4496, 514-1482.  I've asked for our number to be removed from their call database, but quite understandably for a company of this nature, it hasn't happened.

This company called me trying to give me a free ice chest. They wanted my name and address so they could send me the free ice chest. I asked them if there was any obligation by accepting the free ice chest and they said "NO". They further explained that this is how they get there catalog out to people. I said OK and they took my last name and read me off me address. They then said that a box of light bulbs would be sent to me. I said "I don't want any light bulbs" and they hung up on me. I tried to call the number back (1-813-514-1481) but the number would not go through. I searched the internet and found that a lot of people have fallen for their scam. This company sends out a crate of overpriced light bulbs that people did not order then sends them an invoice for the light bulbs. If you try and return them they will charge you shipping and a restocking fee. Their phone number has changed several times. It has been 1-800-285-4488 and 1-866-285-4448. I received a phone recording from 813-514-1481.  They did not leave a message, but stayed on at least 30 seconds before hanging up.  I am glad I did not have to answer if the person above was correct.

This same place of business has called our office in Kansas City, MO as well under the number 813-514-1482.  They ask for our maintenance director.  This last time a female called, and before I put her on hold, I asked for the company name...She stated "Commercial".  After I attempted to locate our director, I went back to her and I could hear her say to another person, "I'm gonna hang up on her."  And she did.  I read about this "Commerical" business on other posts on this site...They are apparently a horrible fake marketing/scam type business filled with extremely rude associates (I thankfully haven't experienced that yet)  I will from this point forward ignore all calls from this number...PLEASE DO THE SAME! :-)
