Debt Collector
For the past week i have gotten at least one call from them every hour. They also call from a different number every so often. They NEVER leave a message, and the few times i answer, i say hello a couple times with no answer from them. I work at an elementary school and cell phones are not allowed to be used. I keep mine on in case of emergency for my kids. The continuous calls are very frustrating. They start calling at 6 am and dont stop till after 9pm.  How can i block these numbers?

Just got called by these bozos. What a scam. I don't owe anyone anything. Here's what one law firm says about them and what you can do, where you owe a debt or not. You may be able to collect if they keep harassing you:

* * * * *

"Is Dynamic Recovery Solutions harassing you over a debt? Stop the harassment. Get Money. And you won?t pay us a dime for our services. Whether you owe the debt or not, you are protected under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).

Dynamic Recovery Solutions is a collection agency that has been in business since 2008. Dynamic Recovery Solutions is headquartered in Greenville, South Carolina. Dynamic Recovery Solutions is a full-service collection agency, and works for the following industries: health care, banking, credit card, and municipal governments.

According to its website, Dynamic Recovery Solutions claims, ?We are sensitive to the unique needs that each case requires and are able to create a specific method for each recovery.? However, according to its track record, Dynamic Recovery Solutions? collection activities shed a much different light when analyzed under the FDCPA. The FDCPA has been around for almost 35 years. The FDCPA is a federal law that applies to every state. In other words, everyone is protected by the FDCPA. The FDCPA is essentially a laundry list of what debt collectors can and cannot do while collecting a debt, as well as things debt collectors must do while collecting a debt.

According to the Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER), Dynamic Recovery Solutions has been sued 60 times in the last 2 years for debt collection harassment. It does not get any better for Dynamic Recovery Solutions on the Better Business Bureau. The Better Business Bureau has processed well over 200 complaints regarding Dynamic Recovery Solutions in the last three years.

Dynamic Recovery Solutions has several telephone numbers it places debt collection calls from. Dynamic Recovery Solutions may be calling you from the following telephone numbers: 864-371-6451, 210-239-0050, 904-416-1293, 888-362-2684, 866-636-0534, 857-362-8553, 202-465-4271, 866-996-1535, 806-553-2938, 404-474-8465, 314-669-2666, 888-362-8757, 866-269-1654, 602-761-2860, 630-256-8479, 832-431-5755, 202-618-4940, 888-847-1910, 888-787-7581, 972-865-4659, 800-287-5356, 202-644-8398, 813-644-8778

If Dynamic Recovery Solutions has harassed you over a debt, you may be entitled to money damages up to $1,000.00. Plus, the FDCPA has a fee-shift provision. This means, the collection agency pays your attorney?s fees and costs. We have settled over 1,500 debt collection harassment cases. Let us help you today. Contact Agruss Law Firm at 888-572-0176 to stop Dynamic Recovery Solutions once and for all."

Just recieved a call from this company claiming I owed money for a Columbia House debt I incurred back in 2006. I pull my credit reports every year and that debt has never shown up at any time on my credit report.

The lady asked for my e-mail and I refused to give her any information although she had my home address information and my cell phone number which she called me on.

This is a clear case of fraud that I'll be reporting to the BBB and both my state and SC state attorney's office

An abrupt and offensive female, from the "Collections Recovery Agency"called my cell phone with claims of a 6 year old debt, which had been charged off by" the company". Total debt of $ 400 plus dollars with a one-time offer to settle for $ 200 plus with payments of $ 55 per month before it was placed up for further collection proceedings.
The debt was from a New York credit card issued from a dept store.

I DO NOT have a credit card and have never had a credit card from a dept store.

She did have my name and 4 digits of my social security number.

I informed her the debt was not mine, she assured me that I owned the debt and needed to make payments,  I told her that I would not pay a debt that I did not owe, she rudely wished me good luck, and I hung up.

Runaway skip tracing and blaming the wrong people is another day at the office for rogue debt collectors. They don't really care who pays or if the details are correct, so long as the boss isn't sued.

That may be a response to consider. The garnishment threat was likely empty, and it can't be done against a protected benefit. So that's two FDCPA violations already. The debt is not yours and is invalid, but if DRS insisted otherwise, put another coal on the fire. Technically there is no federal limit to the age of a debt in collection. You're thinking of a Statute of Limitations, which would apply if a creditor wanted to file suit. But that too would be illegal this time for a few reasons.

I would hope in the months since your comment you simply sent the bullies a ''cease communication'' notice via USPS Certified with return card. That would give them one last chance to exit gracefully before you get a judge to spank them.

My long form advice for "not me" cases is found here:

Exuding a mock-peeved mood is part of the drama queen script. You're the one causing all the problems, goes the premise, since you won't respond instantly and help the rep score a commission.

Revealing too much in a phone message invites lawsuits for breach of privacy. Funny how that part of the FDCPA gets such close attention while many other rules are ignored.

Typical mind games from a debt collector trained in bullying. They can make all the "unwilling" notes they like to create false shame, but it means nothing. Be mindful that if you're baited into saying you do SO want to pay, that in some jurisdictions is close enough to admitting some moldy junk debt is yours, thus resetting a Statute of Limitations.

Don't change your number, change your tactics. You are going nowhere trying to verbally control the calls from a known lawbreaker like Dynamic Recovery. USPS Certified with return card is your new best friend now.

Whether you are called a debtor or some collector thinks you can flush one out, you have rights and options. Many are simple to exercise if you only learn how. You are granted control of how you are contacted, the right to dispute debt claims, and the means to sue violators at low cost. The FTC and the CFPB can start you on your homework. See also if your state laws grant additional or stronger rights.

Woman left voice message saying it was important for me to call her back. Did not say why or what it was about. Did not address me by name. Sounded extremely irritated on the phone LOL but I do not return calls from people that don?t leave a name or purpose of their call. I figure it?s a telemarketer or scam.
