I get about 4 - 6 calls a day from this cult, trying to "verify" address.  I have warned them that I will file harassment charges, but because I don't have caller ID, I'm not sure how to do it.  I don't know the number that the brainwashed drones are calling from.  Any suggestions?

I hate to burst your bubble, but I NEVER gave them my phone number. 35 years ago, I looked into Scientology and figured out quickly that it was a scam to take money from people who couldn't afford it. In that 35 years, I have moved at least 20 times, to different states, and suddenly out of the blue, they called. I told them I was not interested and I wanted to be taken off their calling list. I was told there was no calling list and this person just wanted to tell me about the new things Scientology had to offer. I said I did NOT want to be called anymore and hung up. Within a minute, another woman called me back to apologize and I said, "PLEASE DON'T CALL ME ANYMORE. I'M NOT INTERESTED," and I hung up. Since then, I have received about 70 calls from them, sometimes 5 or 6 a day, sometimes they leave me alone for a month, then start up again. For a while, they were calling me at 11:30 PM, long after I had gone to sleep, so I had to start turning off my phone before going to bed. I also get all kinds of junk in the mail from them. I feel like I'm being stalked, and I don't know how to tell them to stop.

Have to disagree with you on that.  Back in the early 1990's, I took a little interest in Scientology.  Turned out it was not for me.  Didn't hear anything from them for years until around 2007.  That is when I started receiving mail galore from them (must have been around upwards to 10 pieces a week).  I contacted them (not from my phone but via a message through their web site.) and asked them to stop sending me their mail as I was not interested.  The mail stopped for awhile and then it started up again.  I just started writing refused on all the junk they were sending me and after awhile it stopped.  I still get some on occasion. Thank goodness not like it originally was.  Well, just this evening, I receive a call on my mobile phone from this number.  Did not answer it because it was an unrecognized number and no message was left.  I never gave them my number.  I learned that lesson the hard way a few years ago when I expressed interest in some product on the internet.  Was not too smart on my account to leave a number.  That company called frequently everyday for months and finally those stopped.  Hope the same does not happen here.

I've been getting these calls as well! It's that crazy scam-ology cult. These calls can go on for months and months! Best way is to complain to Better Business Bureau about their sleazy illegal marketing calls, high pressure sales tactics, harassment, stalking,etc....also if you are getting tons of mail from these freaks, fill out a USPS form 1500 (prohibitory order) on them, and the post office will take care of the rest. They will contact them and tell them not to send any more mail to you, and if they don't stop......they get fined. Form was originally for sexually provocative materials, porn, ......however now a lot of people are using it to FINALLY GET OFF THE CULT'S MAILING LIST!!!!! It's legal and it works like a charm. Be sure to send it to the New York address on the form, you can get the blank form off the USPS website (Form 1500).

This cult is insane!!! They started calling a few months ago, and will not take NO for an answer. I've never taken any of their classes, or bought anything from them! So how the F*CK did they get my name, number, and address?????

They are driving me crazy...this must be illegal!!!

I kept wondering how my name got on their list, when one of my friends   finally told me about the" FFL" plan. FFL (Friends for Life) plan is a joke played on you, by someone you have pissed off. Your pissed off "friend" calls the cult's telephone # (using Skype which is untraceable), or goes to their website,  pretending to be interested in their sacred crap. Then they give the cult YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION. You will be hounded into your grave!!!! They never give up....

FFL  should really be renamed "F*cked for Life" .

Great advice. I'm going to try this. I'm currently sending everything they send me back in their own pre-paid envelopes. Prbably costing them a fortune. Hope they hate getting my mail as much as I hate getting theirs.

Sorry, but it "don't work!"  I've asked nicely to be removed from their mailing/calling lists.  I've insisted they remove me.....many, many, many times. I've hung up on them.  They call me right back, using another phone.  I've answered the call, and put the phone down and walked away.  They called back early the next morning.    I've saved up a box of junk they've sent me, and using one of their postage paid reply card returned it all, and they send more.      I took one class from them 25 years ago (my boss requested I go, and paid for it) and once I learned a little more about the "church" I never went to another class.  In my opinion, they are relentless, obnoxious and a plague on the entire earth!

yep-"church" of Scientology.....here's how to get rid of these space cadets....yell at them with insults about their KING GURU L RON HUBBARD.....the more swearing you use the better. They will hang up and label you as "ENTHETA." Now, don't even ask me what the heck that means, but trust me, IT WORKS!
If you don't want to swear, think of terrible awful criminal behaviour and attribute it to him....I know this all sounds idiotic, but it WORKS....they are a bunch of hypnotized idiots, following 'orders'.....and no one is allowed to speak badly about their "Commodore."
They are disgusting people....nuff said...

These places with the annoying phone calls Get all of your information from online search sites. If you have any kind of a credit history...ie Car note Mortgage Cash Loans Credit Cards etc...  They can get your information from it.
P.O. Boxes and private phone numbers are all useless tools. It is as easy as pushing a button to get around it. When they call You must tell them to remove your name and number from their contact list. If calling persists. You have a right to file criminal charges against them for harassment. You can also contact and complain to your district Representatives and Alderman Call them every time these people call you, and call them the moment you hang up with them

Call Scientology at their Los Angeles, California building 323-960-3550 and ask for "Merav Ellis, Address Correction and Policing In Charge". She should be able to help you, but if she's not available then they'll direct you to the person who is now holding the position "Address Correction and Policing In Charge". Tell her that you don't want any more mailing or calls from Scientology or any of their groups or organizations, and to mark you as "off the list" FOREVER. It may take a while for this information to propagate from her centralized computer to the other Scientology organizations, but it will help. It will NOT, however, completely stop the problem. But it should be your first step. The reason it will not stop the problem is that they keep lists all over the place (on paper and in computers), and do not use the centralized computer to "cross check" for people who don't want calls. It should stop the bulk-mail junk mailings, though.

Call your local police and/or your phone company. Ask them about making a complaint against harassment. Especially since they "tracked you down" after being told you never wanted contact from them again, you probably have a good reason to make a complaint. If you can make a complaint that is simply a police report, you can later send a copy of that report to Church of Scientology International (their "mother church") and demand to never hear from them again. That will put you on some good (for you) "black list" where they should order people to stop calling you. To locate the address to which to mail a copy of your report to the police on harassment, go to the California Secretary of State website and do a "business entities search" for the corporation "Church of Scientology International". You want to mail your demand to the "Agent for service". At present that is Jeanne M. Gavigan, 3055 Wilshire Blvd #900, Los Angeles CA 90010.

Whenever you get mail from them, if it includes a business reply envelope (free postage for you) scribble on the envelope or area showing mailing address and send it back to them. Make it clear that they should remove you from their lists and stop mailing you. Don't be nice; that won't work with Scientology. You have to "threaten legal action" if they continue to mail to you. Scientology takes "legal threats" seriously. Just asking them won't get the desiresd result.

Whenever anyone calls, ask them if they have heard of "Xenu" (pronounced zee-noo). Say you'd love to tell them Hubbard's secret Xenu story. They will think you now know the (altered version of their) secret OT3 levels. No one will want to hear any more -- they will probably be afraid; they're trained to think they will get pneumonia if they hear the story and will probably hang up on you. Then tell them that you never want to hear from them again. If they try to argue with you, or convince you otherwise, you should start to read them L. Ron Hubbard's OT3 writing. Here is the OT3 story (page 1 only). If they won't "go away" on the phone, just calmly start reading it to them over the phone. They WILL go away. They WILL stop calling you. Make sure your friends and family also have a copy of it, too, and know they should read it over the phone to the Scientologists. Scientology will get the idea that not only are YOU on the side of Xenu and an enemy to Scientology, but that all your friends and family are too, and they should call less and less over time.
Scientology does not care about "do not call" lists. Even though they consider themselves "a charity" and they consider that they don't fall under the usual "do not call registry" guidelines, if you ask off of their lists and ask to never be called again... they cannot do so without risking a suit to owe you... what is it... about $11,000 PER INCIDENT?

They DO care about threats of using a lawyer to sue them. Use those threats liberally.

Eventually, they will tag you as someone to not bother with. But you're going to have to persist to make it known that you are not on their side. This means showing yourself as an enemy (knowing the XENU story).

Being nice, or telling them you're "not interested" is just a reason for them to call you again.

It's not impossible to get off their lists. I have. They rarely mess up and call me these days, but it took persistence and "being nasty" to get the desired effect.

I've been getting these calls  day and night!!! I took a couple of scamology courses 25 f****ng years ago..BIG MISTAKE....they have stalked me ever since!!!! I have moved several times, and every time within 6 - 8 weeks, those god-awful brochures start pouring in. It's embarrassing, my neighbors and mailman now think I'm a FREAK!!!

I use my caller id all the time, and let any number I don't recognize go directly to voice mail. This works pretty well. As for the truckloads of unwanted mail, just fill out a USPS form 1500, and attach the mail to it and take it to the post office (or send it directly to the address on the form). The form was originally designed for obscene literature or pornography, but most people now use it to get off the Church of Scamology's mailing list. The post office can't refuse it, as only you (the recipient) can decide what is obscene.

Hope this helps

I have been receiving calls for several months from COS from this number and other numbers as well. I was never affiliated with them nor have I had ANYTHING to do with COS. I too have had to invest in blocking devices, but they still get through. They don't leave a message, they just pester you. They are not covered by the do not call list because they are not using language that would imply that they are selling something. They may be excempt anyway from do not call because they are suppposedly a church. I'm wondering if enough people are bothered by them if there is a way of getting together as a group (which they would probably infiltrate, as they are probaby reading this) and take some legal action.

I am experiencing the same things as most of the previous posters. The Church of Scamatology calls from various area codes every single day, many times during the day and late into the evening. I block each number only to find they are calling me from another number the very next day. I am also bombarded with multiple pieces of mail from them every day. I have no idea how they got my phone number or address because I never give either out to anyone and use a P.O. Box for all bills and correspondence. They used to leave messages, but don't any longer since the "Do Not Call" laws have gone into effect. I find it to be a completely asinine cat and mouse game they play. Since I will never answer their calls, I don't know why they continue day after day. Surely there is something the FCC or some other agency can do about their continual harassment of thousands (if not hundreds of thousands) of people every day. There needs to be a category of "Harassment Call" added to the call type list, since "Non-Profit Organization" does not qualify.
