I keep getting theses calls as well...I listened at first but when I started asking questions as to which smaller Loan Company they could not tell me...They kept on telling me that I was in alot of trouble and that I should get a good lawyer and how long would I need...They said I could settle out of court and to go get a green dot card...Jennifer Smith was one name, there was a Melissa Velez and a Jodan Campbell and and Juan I cant remember...please help me with any info to stop these jerks.....

They keep calling from different numbers..threatening me.

Not only will they continue to call, but they will threaten you if they reach you. They reached me at work and call bombed my whole work group as well as made threats towards me. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION OR EVEN SPEAK TO THEM!!! This came from my attorney. DO- FILE A COMPLAINT AND KEEP A LIST OF THE PHONE #'S AND NAMES THEY USE. I received a call from John Michaels who put me on hold then a woman named Jennifer Smith said my social security # was under investigation and if I didn't pay $784.00 that a sheriff was coming to my home to arrest me. She said she was from dispute resolution center and they were contacting the local sherriffs office to have them issue a warrant for my arrest. When I asked if this was some kind of scam she hung up on me.

Well April,  you say they have been calling you for a year and threatening you with jail?    Where are they?  When are they coming for you?   Let me tell you what I think.   In reading each one of your posts,  I smell a rat in the room.  I honestly doubt you have a ss number unless it was issued in Karachi or Mumbai.  
My suggestion to you is that you either contact a local attorney for advise,  or get back into the boiler room and go to work.

I enjoy getting calls from these little Boiler Room B*****ds.  As soon as they start their threats,  I just mock every thing they say.  They usually end with  "You need to pay your obligations deadbeat"   Sound Familiar?
Then they hang up on me....how rude.

I received a call yesterday from a DIFFERENT #, claiming the same thing about a criminal inestigation against me...anither scam wanting me to pay money on a GREEN DOT CARD or risk going to court!!! Unbelievable these peopel are relentless! they all have very thick indian accents! I did report the call and incident from yesterday to the AG in my state.

If you recieve calls from 877-246-7836 or 813-922-1291 these are SCAMS!!! The first person I talked to said his name was Anthony Martin.He said that my husband owed for an online loan to Cash Advance America. He stated that my husband owed a debt of 507.89. Then I spoke to a man named Sean or Shawn Stiffler he was supposedly an attorney.During this call I was acting like my husband, and I told them I needed to contact my attorney. They hung up! I called Cash Advance America and reported this to them.   Then I called them back as myself and the supposed attorney messed up and said that his attorney would contact me. I kept him talking and told him I wanted to resolve  issue, that I didn't want my husband to go to jail, as they had threatened. He ( stiffler) told me to go and get a Gree Dot Money Card for $500.00 scratch the back off and call them with the acctivation numbeI told him I would. God forgive me for not telling the truth. But I am so tired of these people with their thick Indian accents, the harrasing calls and lies about this. Cash Advance America doesn't loan money online I was told by their representative.

I received a guy names Mr. Marshall from the legal department stating that they have a legal issue against my ss #. They are rude and won't leave me alone. Very strong accent and can barley understand them.

Do you know the name of this company so that I can report them in violation of the FDCPA ?

I received a call from this number. I called back and spoke to someone calling herself "Jennifer", she went through an elaborate explaination which I listened carefully. When she was done I,  began to ask questions. When was this loan allegedly taken out. She replied sometime between 2008-12?? She couldn't tell me any details. I also asked what was the purpose of this call. She stated just to inform you of legal action was being taken. My question is who calls ahead to let someone know a warrant for their arrest has been issued?? She was obviously perturbed by this. She proceeded to raise her voice and keep saying I need to get a Good attorney. I asked her what should I tell the attorney and whom should he/she contact? "Jennifer"  had had enough. She hung up...Called back several times to get contact info for my attorney. They refused to talk...this call date 1/18/13

They have called me several times a day, as i would pick up the phone say hello, they would say there speal, then I would hang up. n my phone would ring again and it would b them. The last time they called was on jan. 11th 2013. I asked them what legal action is being takin, and all she said was excuse me but u r in some serious trouble, i told her where to go and the only one that was in trouble was her.. Ever since then,  i have not had a call from them... DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR INFORMATION... Have a blessed day..

These IDIOTS call you repeatedly trying to get personal information and make all sorts of lead threats.  When you ask them for information, they hang up on you.

I received a phone call from a John Michaels about 4:15 pm on 1/15/2013 saying he has a case against me in the state of Ct. this is the same person harassing me for 3 years he is just using different names   I need this to stop please catch these prices of trash

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.
