They call at least five times a day, I tell them the person who they are looking for doesnt live here and that they have the wrong number(even though they dont im just sick of getting stupid calls!) But the guy will argue with me and question me then he will hang up.. im sick of these morons!

Dear Elaine, I have a number on my blocked list that is not on my contact's list, And I was hoping that the unwanted text messaging would stop. But I don't know if it will, I was told that it would stop both the calls and the text if I only accepted calls from people on my contact's list. Do you know if I have to go to my service provider and get it dealt with? or has it already been taken care of? I just don't want to turn this into something ugly.

I received a call from Howell & Associates, specifically Mr. Hill telling me that I owed them 280,51 and i had to pay them today or they were going to get a lawsuit against me.  I was originally contacted back in Dec 08 from a female who was nice and was trying to collect for an NTelos bill and told me I needed to arrange 3 payments to avoid additional fees, which i agreed to.  My acct was paid in full in March.  Here it is June and this Mr. Hill guy calls me and says I still owe money, I told him the dates the drafted the amount out of my account and the amount, he told me that was irrelevant what I bank statement showed because they have it showing not paid and regardless of whether I could prove it or not it only mattered what their system showed.  I asked him to send me a copy of the account along with the payments that I made so that I can compare with my records, he told me NO!  you owe the money so pay it  I then asked for his supervisor and he told me there was no supervisor, so I asked him did he own the company, he said no and the owner don't want to talk with someone like you and then the b*****d hung up on me.  I tried calling back but he kept hanging up on me.  I hope they do take me to court because I can prove I paid them in full.  Mr. Hill is very unprofessional, and may use scare tactics on other folks but it don't work on me.  When I saw all of these complaints on line I couldn't believe it.  YOu better believe I'm filing a report with the BBB

Mr. Wells, who evidently is the President of this nasty organization called me, insulted me and bullied me about a bill I was not even aware that I owed.  He is the rudest "professional" I have ever had the misfortune to speak with (or more precisely) be spoken to.  He must have some deep rooted problems to enjoy treating people this badly on an everyday basis.  I pity him because he seems to have some monumental perosnal problems.

I received a phone call on 09/25/08 on my cell concerning a matter that had NOTHING to do with me. My number was placed on Michael Penn's file and I expressed to the gentleman that called me being so RUDE stating that he didn't care what I didn't appreciate after I told me that I didn't appreciate how he was talking to me.  He was RUDE, LOUD, AND DOWN RIGHT STUPID! I am NOT responsible for someone else's faults, mistakes, or intentions of NOT PAYING.  It was NOT FAIR that he was aloud to me in that way and when I asked if I could speak with someone else he replied "NO ONE WANTS TO TALK TO YOU!" I stated that I had talked to Ms Allen about this matter and he assisted me and stated that "she is NOT GOING TO TALK YOU!" He than asked if I was going to PAY for Michael Penn's debt and I responded "NO!"  He stated loudly that he would turn into the courts today so that they could prosecute us immediately since we are running away from paying our bills.

This shady company works with another shady company who is a retailer for Dish Network.  Be aware of VLB Properties LLC/Creative Financing out of San Diego, CA.  They are extremely unprofessional, very abusive, threatening, and amazingly rude.   It sounds like these two businesses use the same tactics.

They are doing the same to us. We looked up these numbers and called them. They were rude and wouldnt answer any questions. They said they were suing me over satelite equipment but wouldnt provide by which company and then they would hang up on me. They also wouldnt give me their name. But hey have my SSN already

I have also recieved several phone calls from them and emssages saying that i need to contact them and my lawyer as well ...about a cell phone bill and they tried getting my  account number from my bank...and i was liek woah i have no bank account  he said by file u have a active account i was like nope .. and then he kept asking for a check i was like if u have my replrt then u would have the account smart guy... but he was trying hard to get it asking for my info and my bfs name and all of that and addy i was like woah back up!

Since these vermin threatened violence, you may also want to file a complaint online with your local police and online with the FBI: https://tips.fbi.gov (The FBI should find this interesting since these false and illegal threats were made over the phone, which is a federally regulated utility, and thus may very well constitute wire fraud.)

By the way, your son shouldn't pay these crooks a thing. Instead, have him contact the cellphone company and pay them directly.

Howell and Associates called our home over a cell phone debt in our son's name. Without too much detail-he let a friend get a phone on his account, friend didn't pay bill, got sent to collections, Howell's people started calling. Without a doubt the most rude, threatening, vulgar, unprofessional low life's I've ever encountered. A pox upon them! Cussed us out, threatened us with physical harm, insisted federal marshall's were coming to take him away, called us liars, had my wife in tears. We have filed complaints with appropriate legal agencies, notarized our files, documented everything, and hired legal help to pursue action against them. I should have sent them a box of pennies to pay the bill with, that would have been priceless to see. We were "Oh So Nice" to them, thanked them profusely for abusing us and cursing us. The poor fellow was livid that we would not argue back with him, it was so funny. I'll let you know if we get anywhere with them.

the guy from this number called me and left a message.  he said he was calling for some name i couldn't understand and it is "extremely important" that i call him back immediately.  of course i deleted the message. it's an obvious scam.

the caller had id of dist. school brd asked for someone i told he they did not live here he said yeah right and hung up he is now blocked with that number on my phone, i tried calling it back and it is always busy.
