It is Verizon Wireless. Not a scam number. They will call you six times a day if your bill is overdue though.

When I call the number back, it suggests it's a VZW number. The phone number they have me call back is 877-304-0145 and say to use my cell number as a reference number.

You call the 877 number and they miraculously find your number and announce your name (all machine-announced) and ask for billing zip (RED FLAG) in order to retreive my "message" (why not just leave the message on my voicemail??).

I think this is a scam. I'll wait for a human to call me.
