Didn't leave a message. I think this number is not associated with any bank or card service, just people trying to rip us off!

One other thing I did forget to mention in my above post is that even though my department is Customer Marketing, we are a strictly inbound department, meaning we don't make any calls to the customer. Just thought I should clarify that as well.

I would love to shed some light on these calls for you. I work for FIA Card Services in their Customer Marketing division. If you dial this number back, you do NOT get the same person or even the same department that contacted you. Most of the time you get a call from this number because you have a past due account that we service (and yes, we service Bank of America credit accounts, too), or it is just a courtesy call.

Now for those who wonder why the call shows up as State College, that is because it is an outbound call center from State College that makes those calls. However, they aren't set up to take inbound calls, so their dialer routes them to my department.

In short, if you do decide to call us back, please keep in mind the following;

1) the person you get ahold of when you call back will NOT be the person who called you, so courtesy is greatly appreciated.

2) If you decide to stay on the lien to speak with a rep, just ask us to look up the information with the phone number you were called on (your phone number, that is). We'll ask for your name, please tell us. A lot of times it's for another customer who has your number listed. For whatever reason I could not even speculate. So, they may not be even be trying to get ahold of you.

3) We really do understand those collection calls that are going out are a big pain, but I must reiterate that you do get ahold of a real person who did not call you. We are not the people who called you, so please, PLEASE, be courteous to us as we should be to you. I hope this clears it up for the confused callers.

I also got a call from them, noted on caller ID with no message. I called the number and after some conversation they needed my phone number to reference the reason the called. I gave it and was told it was a "welcome" call from the Bank of America Visa card that I applied for and was approved for. The person went on to say they wanted to make me aware of....including the low rate to make transfers. I said, I know all about it and don't need reminding. I asked to be put on a do not call list..after the person said, You don't want Bank of America ever calling about your account. Of course, this is another trick question..sure we want them to call if there is illegal activity or other bad stuff going on. This sure seems to be some low life company, though apparently hired by Bank of America. I don't get it and not sure what they are up to..I can not see it as anything good.

I have read somewhere that if you press the # key numerous times on your phone  keypad as soon as you pick up, it will screw-up their automated system and wipe your number from their data banks. Try it, I did.

Received call around 9am Dec. 14, 2007.  Identified himself as Milton from Bank of America, and because my account there is in such good standing I qualified for their VISA card.

I am retired and doubly chronically ill and also serious arthritis. Card Services phones and phones and phones and phones and phones and phones AM and PM, day after day.  What a stress for me to get out of bed and get to the phone only to find it's once again Card Services.  My son-in-law is terminally ill, in another state, with cancer. I get up to answer the phone fearing it's from my daughter with news but it's always Card Services...it is making me a nervous wreck causing my liver and arthritis to flare up.  I worked very hard for many years, often 7 days a week.  I more than deserve my peace and quiet, particularly when I'm so ill.

This is card services that represents Bank of America it just so happens they had no reason to call me. If you tell them that you only wish to be contacted in writing then they must by law. If they call get names times and extensions so you can claim harrasment if it continues.

The same as others have stated... they have been calling all week long, I finally answered today and there was no response on the other end.  What is with that?? If this is a legitimate company why would they not respond when you answer or just simply leave some type of message when you don't??

I admit my bill is late. I have called them and tried to make an arrangement (I know they don't have to make one with me) but they just keep calling me every 10 minutes. Day and night.  Does anyone know really know how late at night they are allowed to call? Again, I know this is my own fault but calling me 15 times a day isn't going to produce money that I don't have. If it did, I wouldn't be late...

This is not an important phone call no matter who they are working for.  If it was important, you would get an official letter from your bank directly, not a contract telemarketer bothering you night and day.  Ignore it!!!!!

This number calls two to three times a day Monday through Saturday and once a day on Sundays. This has been going on for the past month. The first call usually hangs up early in the answering machine's outgoing message. Then five or 10 minutes later, they call again and hang up. Sometimes they listen to the outgoing message a little longer. They never leave a message. I don't own any credit cards run by this outfit.

This number belongs to FIA Card Services who handles Bank of America, Regions Bank, Wachovia, and several other banks' credit cards, loans, and lines of credits. If this number is calling you, there is a 95% chance that you are overdue on your account. The Do Not Call registry will not help, because you owe them money. The other 5% is miscellaneous maintenance such as a credit line increase offer or introduction to a new account that you have already opened. If you do not answer, they will continue to call each day on any numbers they have of yours until the account is up to date. You can ask them to take your number off, but it is probably easier to just pay your bill so that if something comes up on your account, they can still contact you to let you know. They will call cell phones, house phones, business phones, car phones, Iphones, whatever. They will call morning, noon, and evening all week, and on the weekends. And yes, they are within their rights to do so. ( See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_Debt_Collec ... hibited_conduct )
Obviously, they are not going to leave the fact that you are overdue on your answering machine or tell your boss or whatever, because that violates the law and I doubt you would want them to.
If they keep asking for someone that you do not know and you never tell them it is the wrong number (by hanging up or just letting them leave messages day after day), they will assume you are the person they are calling for and continue to call.

This number is from existing business relationship, so not cold calling.  They are legally allowed to call you until 9 PM.  If they are unable to get in touch with you at 5 PM one day, 6 PM the next, you get the idea as to why they would call late.
