Claimed thier company name was Center for Employment Loss. Internet look up revealed no such company(credited or otherwise) listed with BBB or on internet that I could find.

just got call from lady asking for the person in charge of our Safety Program.  Gave her the phone number of our local police department instead.

This company contacted me as well at work about their newsletter: "What's Working in Human Resources". Normally, I wouldn't answer a call like this (was also from "Meadville", same number) but it was transferred to me from an employee so I answered. The girl was nice but it was a very high pressure sales pitch. She talked very fast and went over the details very quickly. I did accept the newsletters (had to get them from my spam folder) and they are pretty good. Their ultimate goal is to blind-bill you for $299.00 a year for the printed version of their magazine. Two free issues and then I'll receive an invoice billing me for the rest of the year. To cancel, I have to call them directly or write "cancel" on the invoice and mail it back to them. She also knew my name and work e-mail address. She asked for my date of birth and I told her there was "absolutely no way I was giving her that information." Now I'm stuck trying to get out of this situation and it looks like it's going to be difficult to cancel the magazine subscription. She also kept asking me if she thought this was something I could allow for in my budget. I told her "no" every time she asked. They must ask this question later to use it against you when you refuse to pay $299.00 for a stupid magazine subscription. It's ridiculously overpriced and I am very annoyed at myself for even talking to this stupid company. If she sent you the newsletters, even though you didn't get them, then she probably signed you up for the printed magazine as well. Keep an eye out for the free issue and then promptly cancel if you can. (It sounds like doing this over the phone is going to be very difficult). Make a copy of the invoice that you wrote "cancel" on and send it certified mail. These people are doing bad business. Do not agree to anything and get off the phone with them as soon as you can. I'm sure they target busy professionals because they know most people will forget to cancel.

Representative from Progressive Business looking to speak to someone in our Accounts Payable Department. Did not want to leave a message.

Received a call from Tom from Progressive several days in a row.  Frankly, I have never received a telemarketing call from anyone as unprofessional and pompous as Tom.  Clearly a scam artist.

I'm afraid that by the cost being 'two ninety-nine', she meant $299.00...  Sure hope you can get out of it...

Received from 814-297-5955 which showed as "Meadville" (PA?) on caller id. Woman said she was representing a newsletter for Quality Assurance. We talked a while. She wanted to send me two free copies and if I found the newsletter useful, I would keep getting them for 2.99 per year. I asked her to read me some of the article titles so I could get a feel for what the newsletter was about. She did so. I was not interested, but she was sympathetic and asked me to test it before rejecting it. She verified my email address and name and wanted the month and day of my birthday to prove it was me who accepted the offer and "not someone else".  She kept asking whether 2.99 was a price I could fit in my budget. I never received the follow-up email she said was coming and wonder now what the scam was - is she going to sell my email address? or something more nefarious?  When I called back the number, received the "voicemail currently full" message as others have.

I just received  a call from  814-297-5955 from Clarion PA. The man said they were from PDP and needed to speak with a Sales Manager or Business Manager. I told him he needed to give me some details before I could get him to the right person. He said Ok, lets start with (my name, which he knew without me giving it to him) and said the call was being recorded. I asked what the call was regarding and he said "yeah, we will skip that part".  I assured him he would not get to speak with anyone unless they knew the nature of his business.  He said never mind, I will find someone who will talk to me and hung up.

Same as everyone else.  Got a call.  Guy was a jerk.  Asked for information we don't give out.  Hung up on me in mid-sentence.

Another call from (814)297-5955 on my direct office line. No voice mail.

Had a call from (814)297-5955 on my direct line at work. Since I didn't recognize the number I didn't pick up. They left no voice mail.

Had a call from (814) 297-5955 I answered and they hung up. I called the number back. It rang and rang, and then a recorded message came on saying that the voice mail box was full. I hung up and BINGO they called back. It was Patty Hemi with Progressive Business I explained that I just had a hang up call from this number. Patty assured me that she didn?t hang up on purpose. She went on to say that her headset unplugged just as I answered and it disconnected the call. Bull DINKY Patty! I was born at night, but not LAST NIGHT. She wanted to speak to someone in HR regarding benefits. I put her on hold and then forwarded the call to a blank voice mail box.  Bye bye Patty.

Received a call from this number asking to speak to our Sr. VP.  Asked him what the name of his company was - he said SCA.  When I asked what that stood for he became beligerent telling me I wasn't helping him.  I told him that I was paid to screen calls and if he wanted to speak to anyone else, he would have to answer my questions.  He got even more beligerent and I finally told him to not call back and hung up.

I wasn't available to answer.  The "message" was just some background noise before the caller disconnected.  I subscribe to a Progressive Business Publication and as others have reported I suspect this is a telemarketing call for HR publications.  

The newsletter is ok but their business ethics and tactics are questionable.

Phishing for the names of our Human Resources staff. Do not take their calls.

Called the office at 2:15 on a Thursday. Answered the call and there was nothing but silence.

Personal cell phone received call from 814-297-5955 but they left no voice mail.  I called back from my desk phone and same result as previous entries, "mailbox full."

Called my cell phone asking for the CEO or office manager..Told them that it was a personal cell phone not a business..they again just asked for CEO or office manager..i blocked them from my cell phone..these people are just plain stupid..there's no being nice to them.

Caller left no message.

Bunch of dirtbags obviously.  They would not leave a msg and just hung up..so I call them back and their mail box is full  lol

A man called and asked for the owner by name. I said he wasn't in the office and asked if I could take a message. He hung up without saying another word.

They called, left no voicemail.  When I called back got voicemail is full and a quick hangup even after pressing zero

One call yesterday, a woman asked for accounts payable manager and mentioned the IRS.  I had the call sent to my voicemail ~ she did not leave a message.  Another call this morning before 8 a.m., no message.  I called the number and got the message "the mailbox was full".

Called asking for Russ or CEO, I asked what company he was looking for, and he said Link.  I said he had wrong number and that was it.  Called it back and voicemail box was full.

814-297-5955 calls my direct office number once a day and never leaves a message.

Checked message on voicemail from this number but only could hear typing before hangup.  No message left.

Asked for the office manager, was looking for some info on if we even had an office manager. They're under Progressive Business and would not leave a call back number, just told me her name was Jackie C.

Refused to give any info about what kind of company "Progressive Business" is or what the call was regarding.
