This is Kirby and they said the same - my name was provided as a referral for a free carpet cleaning. They said they would not try to sell me anything that this was a service the offer to promote their name so if I, or anyone I know, was in the need for professional cleaning services we would call Kirby.  They said the visit would last about an hour.  They lied.  They did not 'clean a room' them gave me a 2 hour demo and tried to sell me the $2,000 vacuum.  Just say no.

These Kirby people have called me from 4 different numbers every day for the past two weeks.  I did not sign up for their service.  The numbers are:

They need to stop calling - they keep calling even when I asked that they stop.  It has turned into a nightmare.

I thought I was smart by blocking some 10 numbers from Kirby. The jerk offs just called me a THIRD time with a private number!  I told the woman "don't you EVER f ing call me again I will pursue a lawsuit! I do not so business with ou, so stop calling me!"  I then hung up. Seems I'm going to take the advice here and contact Kirby and threaten a law suit. For crying out loud.

These azz hats called my cell twice today. I googled E number, and it was Kirby.

I have an Android phone, so I blocked the first number, then they called back 6 hours later with a different number ( the last four numbers). I blocked that one too. They can call until  hell freezes over, but they have only so many numbers they can use. Scumbags. This Do Not Call list is a frickin joke. It stops no one.

I have been contacted by one of their reps every 4-5 days for the past 3 weeks. I did not appraoch them, they called me, offered me a free carpet cleaning and said I had been refered by a lady I know. I said that I may be interested but  asked not to be contacted until November as we are having construction completed and didn't want to schedule until I knew it was all complete. I received several other calls including a call at the weekend and again today. In frustration I told the rep that I had asked three times not to be called until November so at this point if they couldn't respect that not to call again at all. She was very unpleasant - started saying that its only two weeks until November and that I probably didn't want a carpet cleaning at all - at which point she hung up.

They just lost a customer and I was so upset I looked them up online and have posted on a message board for the first time ever! Way to go Kirby.

This company calls claiming that someone you know gave them your number so they could offer you a free carpet cleaning.  I told them I did not know the person that they said referred them to me, but she insisted that I did!  The calls stopped for a couple of weeks but now they have started up again.  Now when they call I pick up the phone, say hello and then start saying random things (Swiper no Swiping!, did you know that 99% of all pears are actually grapes?, etc)  Hasn't stopped the calls but it is fun messing with them!

Like the previous poster, they are from a Kirby cleaning service.  They get your name from someone.  They offer to clean two rooms of carpet for free if you listen to their sales pitch about Kirby cleaning machines/products.  It is no cost to you but you do get the sales pitch of a lifetime!

This number calls twice a day, seven days a week.

This is Kirby, the vacuum people.  Someone most likely gave them your name and number as a referral.  I had a friend do it (with my permission, because I already own one) several weeks ago and they call 6-8 times per day from this number as well as 815-301-4354 and 815-301-4351.  I basically let anything with a 301 prefix go to voicemail now... or I let them listen to the tv for awhile.  Kirby's are great, but their sales tactics are HORRIBLE!

I kept getting these calls on my Google Voice phone numbers. I was able to track down the company information, to register a complaint with donotcall.gov, since both numbers are registered. I suggest that everybody do the same.

You are totally right. I worked there for about a week and quit because I couldn't stand being rude to everyone (by calling and pressuring them to sign up for a carpet cleaning). The telemarketers actually feel quite bad about it and are yelled at if they don't pressure you as much as possible.

if you got a call from the chatham company the telemarketers wouldnt hang up they would go along with you and would send someone to your door Trust me this company has some fun people working there and woul not get mad about something like that the would laugh

they buy names from a phone company that gives names to companys.. If your on a block or no call list then call for examplt Polk Directory or List giant and complain to them not the kirby company its the company they buy the names from fault. Kirby is just trying to make money just like everyone else in the world

ya answer the phone and politely say ur not interested its there job they are given the numbers to call intill someone answers and speaks to them its not the telemarketers fault they have to call you they are told too. And if you look it up on the rug institute Kirbys are the number one vacs in the world...They pull so much dirt from your floor that a regular vac. cant. Yes they are expensive but very much worth it i can't wait to get one!!!

Yes pick up the phone. start to schedule an "appointment for a demonstration" at the end be like can u make sure to send out a hott sexy ect blonde women they will surely hang up on you ;) and not call again its funny to mess with them.

UPDATE:  Directly contacted Kirby corporate offices in Cleveland, OH, via email and reported what their distributor was doing.  Told them they are violating the Do No Call Registry and that they have been reported to the DNC Reg and IL Attorney General Madigan's office and that if the calls don't cease, I will invoke my right to take them to court.  I didn't care how they got my UNLISTED phone number and that they should be checking the DNC Reg BEFORE making any telemarketing calls.  Got a response from them in less than 24 hours trying to say that the distributors are independently owned and operated and that they don't represent Kirby.  I'm thinking, "are you soft!!!"  If they are selling your products, then they are representing Kirby - besides who provides the warranty to Kirby products? It's not the distributors!!!  How thick can you get!?!?  After contacting them a second time mentioning that, and asking, "can you say litigation" - they agreed and said they would contact the distributor in Crystal Lake, IL, immediately.  Guess what - the calls have stopped!  =)

I have been getting phone calls from KGDIST for two straight days now.  They also called me a few months ago and I spoke to them and requested to be removed from their list.  I have never done business with this entity.  I have been on the Do Not Call list since its' inception.  The numbers are 815-301-4066, 4069.  When you call the numbers back you get, "this number is no longer in service."  They call multiple times a day and never leave a message.  I am going to file a complaint with the Do Not Call registry as well as report them to the Illinois Attorney General, Lisa Madigan's office.

Well I agreed to have them come clean my carpets but after talking to several people they said not to do it because they will try to sell the cleaner. So the day they were set to come, I called the number that was on my caller id and no one ever answered. I called all day, finally I left a note on my door stating I didn't want their services didnt want to reschedule and to take my number off their list. The next day I kept getting calls from them, "Jessica" left me a message and said "way to go bucko" and hung up. I tried to call the same number back no answer again, got another call the next day and I told her that I didn't want them to clean the carperts after all and she called me a w***e and hung up!!!!! I looked up all the numbers I could on the internet and finally got a hold of someone and said if i received another call from them i would report them to the police and proceeded to tell the "supervisor" what their sales people said to me and the message that was left. EVERYONE BEWARE, DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!

this is k&g dis. crystal lake  they sell that $1500 kerby vacum cleaner - they sell u on a free carpet cleaning and then once there in your home they try to sell u on this.   sounds like a do not call list.

We have received 3 calls in the past 3 days from KGDIST, all under different #'s, 4073, 4065, 4064.  How do we stop these calls?

The reason they are calling is because a friend or family member has reffered your name to their company.  The Kirby company cleaned their carpets and did a demonstration.  In return for the free cleaning they want you to give out other names and numbers.  Its a marketing strategy. Just tell them you arent interested, otherwise they will eventually stop calling after acouple weeks.

Bob could well be right about this being a Kirby sales operation.  This number keeps calling me and I'm a Kirby owner.  (I believe that once you've done business with a company they can call you despite your being on the no-call list).

I disagree with Bob's comment about Kirby's being junk though.  While they don't clean any better then your standard Hoover, they're much better built and last a lot longer.  Still, I suppose you could buy quite a number of Hoovers for what a Kirby costs.

yeah it is kirby they are an annoying vaccum sales company. they might even be knocking at your door to do a demo. dont buy from them they are jumk and a waste of money
