I go a call from this number saying that my point bank card has been suspended due to a suspicious third party.

I called the number and a automatic voice recording said it was Financial Services Incorporated. When I select the company directory the call gets disconnected

They called my cell phone.  Said my debit card had been suspended and to "press 1 now."  I hung up knowing full well that my banking institution would never contact me this way.  Came to this site and found out that I made the right call.  Stupid hackers....

Okay, first off yes, these guys are scammers. But how in the hell are they hackers? Please dont start throwing words at something just because you heard them once.

Hacker: One who breaks into a system or database for lawful or unlawful reasons

Scammer: One who sends out automated messages via text, phone calls or emails in an attempt to gain personal information in order to gain access to your financial accounts.

Just got a call from them at 10:40pm at night.  It was a message that stated they were Valley National Bank and my debit card had been temporarily suspended and to press 1 to get connected to their security division.  I do not have a debit card, or business with VNB.  SCAM!

These people keep calling diffrent areas evidently. Got a call today when I am in the 501 area code area. I highly suggest making all the reports you can giving all the numbers they call from as well as when they called you. yes, there are ways to fool caller ID. The FBI isn't going to be fooled by the same s*** that fools caller ID though.

This is not us - we have gotten two e:mails from people with the same story, and in these postings and others on other websites we see a number of financial institutions are being used (their names) to elicit this info -

THIS IS DEFINITELY A SCAM AND UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD YOU GIVE THIS INFORMATION

Our company info can be found at www.UFGWorld.com and our numbers if anyone needs to speak with us about this, but it is defintely not coming from here.

Hackers, you gotta hope they all get their's !

I got a call from this number as did my husband (different cell numbers) one said it was North Shore Bank, neither one of us bank at North Shore, the other call did not even list the financial institution. When I called my bank they said they will always identify themselves and that I need to call my cell phone company and let them know that somehow someone got a hold of our cell numbers and are trying to scam us. Please report this to your banks and cell companies, this is a SCAM . . . .

Today, I received a call (on my cell phone) from the 815-730-4900 number telling me that my card had been temporarily disabled and if I wanted to reactivate the card to put in my 16 digit credit card number.
My financial institution does not have my cell number. I hung up.  I tried recalling to find out what company they were. Universal Financial Group Inc, (stock brokers).
They gave me the option to enter my parties extension or press "1" to get a listing of their directory.  When I pushed the "1" I was disconnected.

My financial institution said never give your social secuirty or credit card number to any one, period,
as your credit union or bank has that information.

Do not give them any card numbers!

THIS IS A SCAM.

They just called me too about 5 minutes ago. This time I got a caller ID on them as about a month ago I got the same call saying the same thing but that time there was no caller ID. The last time I called my bank and asked them what was going on and they knew about these phishing attempts and said to just not give out anything and hang up. If they needed to get with me they will call and let me know by identifying themselves properly. I am in the 281 area code.

Just re-read some other comments about calling back to reactivate the account. DO NOT DO IT!

I may be overly concerned about it but here's a thought.  What if they have some information on our previous credit reports and have someone obtained our old credit card numbers?  They may have trying to reactivate our credit cards that we had closed down in the past.  Yikes!  Not sure if it's possible.  But nowadays, with the latest technology, you just never know.

Me too!  Just received the call about 5 minutes ago on my cell.  As soon as the automated message came on, I right away suspected to be a SCAM and hung up before the 3rd sentence was finished.  I Googled the number and found this thread.  Glad to find you all on alert.

Remember, your bank should have your card number and all your data.  If they need to verify any information, someone works at the bank would call you in person.  He/She would be giving you information for verification and not the other way around.

One other thing that banks do is, they normally ask you to call back to the phone number on the back of the credit card or the bank main telephone number, and not calling back to them.  Btw, do not give him/her, that phone number on the back of your card neither just in case.

815 730 4900, a sure scam! We only get these calls on our cell phone... But there are more number that'll show up on your caller id's : "incoming 50", "571 422 7207"
Be sure to let your family know... if your kids have cells let know about this, if they are headed to college in the fall this may happen to them. The elderly you know please put them on notice, as well as the super naive. More than anything stay prayed up, the world's in trouble.
