Caller ID: 815-758-1111. No info left other than to call 877-688-8288, direct line X113. Great. Who exactly are you trying to reach? No return calls will be made from my home until I know who the call is for, what company is being represented & why I'm supposed to be calling someone I don't know.
lj 2011-06-06 20:59:32 Unknown
Got a call a few days ago from this number from someone named Tina. They were wanting me to update some records. I asked who they were and then she starting talking about a visa card amount from 1998 that I didn't even know what she was talking about. Then she said that my ss# had a watch on it. I don't even know what that is about. I asked her not to call back and so far she hasn't.
Pissed off 2011-06-06 20:59:32 Unknown
This is the second call I have gotten from this number. I have told them twice that the account in question was not mine and that I should not called again. I have two issues with this; (1) the account is not mine and I have told them that twice and; (2) the gave out someone SS# over the phone. I am wondering if it is legal to give out SS# over the phone. This company needs to shut down. The first time the called, not only was the guy rude as hell, but also he, for some reason he said the they were monitoring someone credit. This needs to stop. If someone know of a way we can put a stop to this please share.
sick of idiots! 2011-06-06 20:59:32 Unknown
Do NOT give them any personal info, do NOT make payment arrangements. Do NOT update your address with them. They hire ex-cons and they may 'look you up' if you are rude.
Just ask what the call is about and when they say, "This is not a telemarketer, it is a personal business call" simply HANG UP.
Legitimate Personal Business people will tell you the nature of their phone call, and not be evasive like these bottom feeders.
John Smith 2011-06-06 20:59:32 Unknown
The previous poster is completely wrong, and would just like to make everyone aware of this.
The term "personal business call" is a legal requirement for any finance company wanting to speak to someone. They should NOT give you any info or ask for any info before they have confirm who you are (if they call you).
So if you don't want to speak with them, you don't have to. Bear in mind though, that the person on the phone may no nothing of you, simply what has just popped up on their screen. So being rude to them has not purpose (and they shouldn't be rude to you either).
If you ask to stop calls, make SURE they update that on their system, otherwise an automatic dialler system will simply call you again, and will likely be a different person who knows nothing of the previous call (except maybe that you didn't want to speak).
If you believe it is nothing to do with you, request a copy of the statement of account in writing, but DO NOT give them your address (not because of the nonsense the last poster mentioned but because you do not know for sure who is calling you). If they do not have your address then they probably don't have the appropriate documents to claim anything.......

Try making a list of the date and time of each call. After you have
been sufficiently harassed, send your data and comments to the Police Department in DeKalb, Illinois, or send your information to the Attorney General for the state of Illinois. (You may obtain the addresses you need by going to the government site for Illinois on the internet, as well as the Chief of Police in DeKalb, Illinois.
The police are generally very helpful with this type thing. If it's
a fraudulent group, (and it sounds like it based on their behavior)
they can be prosecuted for the behavior.
Report also that complaints have been filed with Google's space
for complaints regarding unwanted and undesirable telephone communications.
You will likely get more assistance from the Chief of Police in DeKalb
since the Attorney General's Office may be busy with much larger
and greater fraudulent enerprise work.

Collectors may not tell others about the debtor's personal finances. They are also not required to tell the consumer when they sell his or her account, so there is likelihood for a person to be contacted by a different collection agency regarding the same debt and having to dispute it all over again.
Additionally, many debts have a statute of limitations, meaning they eventually expire and can be brought up as having passed their statute of limitations as a defense if the collector takes the alleged debtor to court and tries to sue him. Most of these time-barred debts expire between 4 to 6 years after going into default, with individual states having their own legislation regarding the exact amount of time. According to the Federal Trade Commission, however, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act does not prohibit debt collectors from trying to collect barred debts, as long as they do not sue or threaten to sue the consumer for the debt.

Just got a call at my home office number, and then on my cell within 5 minutes of one another from these scam artists. Claimed they didn't understand why I didn't answer when the call was of such an important nature, which it actually wasn't. Said some dude at their agency has a watch on my credit file because of an outstanding balance from 1999. Tried to get me to confirm my information, including Social Security Number -- never do this!! I asked them to identify who they were and what this was in regards to. That led to the lady on the other end (her name for this call was "Brook Summitt") saying she was looking at my credit report and my score was 599, which is completely wrong. I bought a $300K house not three months ago, and given the state of credit in this country, I wouldn't be able to do so with a score that low, so obviously she was full of it. I mentioned the statue of limitations, to which she had no response.
Bottom line -- don't give these losers anything! If you see their # your caller ID, don't even answer. Total BS!!

Want to know these scumbag's HOME ADDRESSES and PHONE NUMBERS??
This is a scam.
Someone named Casey (female) and a guy named Lee Sterns (He has a few other names) have been calling, and usually just hang up. "Lee Sterns" also seems to have a few different accents, too.
I talked to them once and they said I owed money on an old credit card. I asked for verification and "Lee Sterns" got angry. I called my bank (my only credit card is through my bank) and they said all was well. I also have an excellent credit score.
I think DCS is a front for a company called Equitable Recovery Solutions I (Ersi Recovery). They have the same physical address, which I've listed below.
Incidentally, I started receiving calls from AACC at the same time I started receiving calls from DCS. The calls often happen within minutes of each other. All of the calls stopped for a few months, and then one day both DCS and
AACC started calling again, within minutes of each other. I have no proof that they are connected, but that can't just be a coincidence.
Anyways, don't do business with these scumbags. Hang up on them and contact the Illinois State Attorney General:

They are the "scab" type of collection agency. They buy really old accounts for pennies on the dollar and then start their harrassing trying to get as much as possible. They've been after me for a credit card that was closed in 1999. One I've never had in my life. Two issues 1) not mine 2) beyond the legal age limit in most states. They are trying to collect it illegally to begin with. And the threats are making it even worse for them. Don't talk to them, don't deal with them. 10 -1 it's not yours to begin with and 20 -1 it's over the age limit of collection. They don't have the proof they say you owe, they won't close your account. I sent them a cease and desist letter (as instructed by a lawyer), Dekalb's response was that's fine but the next time it comes up in our computer system you will be contacted again. Illegal all the way.

Call asking for information without even stating who they are or the nature of call. When ask she didn't want to give any info just "are you refusing to pay your bill." Ask her to send a letter in the mail, we'll see about that. Calling co-workers consistantly durning business hours. Have told her can't receive personal phone calls on company work phone.

ALWAYS have Caller ID.
NEVER pick up a call from someone you don't know.
IF they call back, even if it is over and over and over, NEVER pick up.
I used to have a answering service number. You can get them for $5 or $10 a month. It's ONLY voice mail. You call in to get your messages. IF you put that number on everything, they only get the service.
If you never pick up the phone, as far as they know, you're never home so they can't contact you. To them, it's the same as if you have a service.
Also--get an unlisted number an be careful who you give it to.
