Just got the call, said my car warranty was about to expire...my car is a 96, it expired years ago. Hope it aint one of them scams, that when you press 1 as requested, you end up with an overseas bill for 5000.00

You fool.  North County is just a phone company no different than AT&T or Verizon.  Phone companies legally can't control what their customers do. Do you think the President of Verizon is allowed to shut off someone's phone service because he don't like them. I think not.  They are a controlled by the PUC's and the FCC.  Not only is it illegal to make harassing phone calls to the phone company you are just as bad as the telemarketer. If you have a problem with one of their customers complain about the customer to the FCC for violating the Do not call list.  Plus, get you number on the Do Not Call list.  It works.  That is why they have it.

i made copy's from the internet and sent them to the fbi at the j.edgar hoover building at washington d.c. maybe the can out a stop to these unwanted call's.

Calls usually come shortly after noon. Female voice says my car warranty is about to expire and I have not responded to previous warnings. Press 1 to connect or 2 to disconnect. If I press 1, it ALMKOST connects. I can hear background noise -- people talking -- for just a second or two, and then I can year someone manually disconnecting the call. Eventually the line goes dead

These people are calling from numerous numbers. I got a call from these same people, but a different number. 815-960-1847 was the number I got. It's so irritating! They've called our business at least 3 times in the last 2 hours to offer an auto warranty. I've talked to a person and I've asked to be taken off the list, I've asked to speak to a manager, and all I've gotten thus far are hangups. I don't know what to do! I'm the switchboard person at our company and these calls are just driving me up the wall. I've filed an FCC complaint to no avail. What now?

I got this same thing today. I tried to fill out that form but I didn't answer the phone so I couldn't answer the questions truthfully so I didn't finish. Hope they get shutdown soon.

Keep calling my house and asking about a dumb car warranty.  Transferred my to a stupid "C***" named Barb.  She's a bi*** that's trying to take your money.  This call is a flake hang up right away.

recieved a call from phone number 815-960-0985 on july.02,2007. young female voice on my cell phone left a voice messege about money loan for a vaction or any other loan perpose.

Most recent call was on 7/5/07. They got my voice mail and hung up. They call every week or so and do the same thing. I don't answer calls I don't recognize.

i had a call from phone number 815-960-0985 yesterday-07-02-2007. young female voice on other end making a special offer. if i recieve any more call's from this one i'll turn them in to the fbi scam section and the u.s.marshall and the ftc. they called my cell phone number so that means they are telemarketrs.

People! Please! Use the very easy, online complaint form with the FCC. The more complaints they receive, the more likely they will stick it to this company... and the heftier the fine will be. Don't get mad... get even. Hitting them in the pocketbook will put an end to this nuisance.

You do not need to be on the DO NOT CALL list in this situation... all automatic telephone dialers AND all prerecorded messages to wireless devices (i.e. cell phones) are illegal w/o prior consent.

With Voice over IP, People can use phone numbers from any part of the country and located in a different area code.

I just got a call from these people and googled it and found this forum.  I have an unlisted number and "refinance"??? I own my home outright - no mortgage at all, why would I want to "refinance"????

North County Communications may be part of the scam. On their web site
they do not list a phone number. You have to give them your email address
to contact them. I would not give them any information to be careful.

Same deal as everyone else. I am incensed that I've been solicited for anything on my cell phone. By any chance, has ANYBODY here done business with or contacted the Rosetta Stone language training people? They are the ONLY commercial entity that has my number, and then I get this damned mortgage call 24 hours later. I'm a little suspicious of Rosetta Stone.

Answered the phone and had an automated voice telling me my warranty on my car was almost up and after repeated mailings I hadn't responded. Was transfered to a real person who asked the make and model of my car. I asked him which car he was asking about and told me he'd transfer me downstairs to get that sorted out. He didn't transfer me anywhere. He hung up. When I tried calling back I got another automated voice telling me to hang up because they'd try to call again or to press #2 to enroll in their no-call list.

Same crap here. I'm filing a lawsuit and getting my money!

Call came at 4:33 pm (pacific time) on a cell phone used only twice in three years. Left message on voicemail that said "have a nice day."

Rule 1, sound VERY interested in what they have to offer.
Rule 2, keep them on the line as long as possible, request odd info ect.
Rule 3, tell them to "hold on for a sec" put the phone down and walk away for 15 minutes.
if they call back, repeat step 3 as needed

they will remove your number from their lists on there own.

apparently there is *no* enforcement of the Do Not Call list.  Wouldn't be surprised to find that these companies are *using* the list for leads  :(

has called many times in the last month.  Quit answering when they call because if you tell them you don't want their service they hang up.

This is an automated calling center, a computer dials numbers until someone picks up, asking you to hold for mortgage information. If you do not pick up initially, it will not leave you a message. When I called the number back, I got a recorded male voice, further soliciting the mortgage information to be disclosed if I just hold on.....then I was given an option to be added to the "do not call list", by entering my phone number. Tell me they weren't "Fishing"! They have yet to identify themselves.
