Call received: "For the lady of the house." When I said "There is none." I heard a click like the robo dialer went to someone with a pulse and the pitch started. I became very ungentlemanly & told her to never call this number again...whereupon she said "Oh, ok:... and I hung up.

Always a hang up, never leaves a message. Has called 7 times in the last 4 days.

I have received several calls from this number as well.  Never leaves message on machine.  Today I was home and answered it.

They said they were looking for donations to help children/families of children with cancer.  IRONICALLY, I have a 7-year-old son who had cancer 2 years ago and sit on a pediatric cancer foundation's board.  When I asked the name of her foundation and more details, she then hung up.  Hmmmmm  shady shady??

BTW this is a cold call because number is listed under my maiden name not my husband's name.  How we can tell the soliciters.

this caller calls everyday, usually never replies when answered and calls close to 9pm!

i've had several 815 calls in recent days.  Tonight a man said he was calling on behalf of Children's Cancer Reserch.  When I said I was on the do not call registry he hung up.

I have been getting calls from "Helping Out" with a number of 815-986-2221 for the past few weeks, but I never answer it.  I grew up in an area with an 815 area code and was curious, so I asked my Mother, who still lives there about it.  She knew nothing, so I got online and Googled it and found this sight. Maybe I should answer next time and say "Oh yeah - I saw something about you on the internet - I think the police are looking for you!"  Maybe that would stop the calls for a while.  Doubt it!

I receive calls from 986-2221 annoying as all get out, call 'em back and is busy or if it answers then it dials out then disconnects you.... so much for the lousy national no call list!!!!!!!

I just got a cal from this number and when I picked up they asked for "Mr. *my wife's last name*" - which is different from mine. This obviously tipped me off so I replied, "No" and they hung up on me. I tried calling back, but it would not go through. After searching online for the number and reading other accounts of experiences, I'd say this is a very suspect caller.

Got a call from 815-986-2221.  ID said Helping Out.  They didn't say anything when I answered and they just hung up.

I have been receiving calls from this number over the last three days. no messages have been left. i answered a call at 3:30 pm today and after i said hello they hung up.

I had gotten a call from this number repeatedly about six months ago while I was at work.  They never left a message.  All of the sudden, the calls just stopped.  

Just five minutes ago I got a call from that number again.  I didn't answer it and they didn't leave a message.  How annoying!

815-986-2221 been calling I dont answer call's I don't know, caller ID says ILLINOIS CALL. After doing goole search and read comments I called the no. back left it on speaker phone. It sounded like a computer dailing, it would dail then hang up and dail again. SO I started to press # pound key and number 1 number 2 and so on nothing next I did * star and hit number 1 and 2 and so on twice I had someone pick up and it was a female and then she would hang up!!
Boy I wish there was a way to block these calls. Gov. block list dosent work. So sad.

No words said, just heavy breathing; the call lasted about 30 seconds, then the fast busy signal kicked in.   I was already in bed and do not have the exact time.  It is a nusance to have someone using a phone for a toy (or potential threat).   If someone is checking to see if someone is home, that could be the predecessor to a break in.

I have gotten many calls from 221,2237,2227.  No one ever answers and they don't leave messages.  According to Intelius.com, they are located in Rockford, IL.  Some are wireless numbers.  Sounds like a scam to me.  Call you local phone company to have their numbers blocked.

I ghave gotten 3 calls from this number and when I finally answered it, a guy said a different name, and said he was from organization. I told him that if he was looking for someone else he had the wrong #, and he hung up. When I called the # back it was busy, and then it just wrang when I called it again.

i get sever unknown name calls a day. no messages left. now i received a call from this "helping out" this is truly annoying. i just want to unplug my phone!

Thats not a bad idea as long as you tell the necessary people in your life that you do that.

If you have your number on that list file a complaint like I did the more
that are filed the more likely they are to do something about it and result
in them paying $11,000.00 per complaint - that should stop them once and for all and leave us all in peace.

I have received 3 calls from this number and each time it's the same guy.  He is very rude and barks at me to speak with my husband.  When I asked who it was he responded 'mike from the children's cancer society.'  I could tell it was a scam and I asked him to put me on the do not solicit list which I am already registered as in the goverment website.  He called the third time the following day and I told him to stop calling us he then blew air into the phone so loudly that it sounded like a blow horn.  he did this twice until I said a few explicatives.  When I call back - he answers and presses the redial key.  look out for this scammer!

The only option left, Bell Canada has dial *57 right away, same time conversation it automatically records, free of cost, the callers number and sends it to the neighborhood police station and OPP, as a report of harassment, and they will investigate, but you have to report this matter right way with your prove *57.

Most telemarketers and any agency are working inside jails now, and some of criminal doing time and so they waist time dialing phone numbers, and if they get lucky.
Those criminal are stressed, and are seeking for sexy young voices Male/Female or young child to fantasize about, and chat to.... anyway use your imagination.
The person could be murderer, child molester, rapist or/and.

Yes; most the times those calls are coming from inside prisons; the criminals are fishing for times, It?s mean you.
If they get jack-pot, the problem it?s after fact; if they did not get rejected by you, they pass the number around in the prison and cell-mate to harass you.
Eventually one of these prisoners become a stalker, and never leaves you alone.
Remember, if they know more about you they become more powerful. For an example; blackmailing.

Please be careful with whom are you dealing with, Do not ever give your ID and/or phone numbers, addresses to any stranger on the phone, no matter what. Your life will be destroy and burn down.

Even if the person says that they are calling straight from the company, ask for the number, and tell them you?ll call them back right way.
The phony person hangs up on you or the number may not exist when you call them back.
Please just be careful dog eat dog.
