We've been getting multiple calls from this number for a couple weeks now - it's very annoying.  You pick up the phone and there's nobody there.  If you hang on long enough, a busy signal starts on the other end.

Yes, I also have been getting calls from this place I've tried calling that number back and all it does is rings and rings. I looked up the area code and it is in the state of Missouri thats about the only info I have.

I too have been getting these phone calls.  I am getting really annoyed too. It says a recorded message about yellow pages research. The only way to stop these calls is to pay the phone company to block the phone number.  It's kind of interesting how a phone company can keep calling you and you have to pay the same or a different phone company to stop getting the phone calls.  By the way, it is pointless to call the phone number.  It keeps ringing then disconnects you or tells you the party you have called doesn't accept voice mail.  If you are going to call, please remember to dial 1 before entering the phone number displayed on caller Id.  If you don't, you will call 816-2862 for whatever area code you live in.  The person who has 816-2862 in my area code is getting very annoyed at people called their home phone number.

We are getting calls from YPR - several times a day just noise on line when i answer and no answer when i call no back

I am so tired of the calls.How do I block them? They call the same time every day, maybe computer directed calls since its so consistent? any ideas ?

Thanks for the info.  They are now using another number:  (636) 634-2862.  I realized when reading your posts that they are simply calling from another area code but the last 4 are the same.

You can go to the following website, under contacts there is a number to call to get your name removed.  They work mostly for local newspaper companies trying to retain customers sounds like.

Keep getting calls from 1-816-286-2500:  when I pick up and say "hello," I get a recording with a female voice stating that the call is "a verification call, # . . . (something-or-other -- I never have time to get the whole number down before the recorded voice hangs up on me!)  It's really irritating.  What are they (and, who are they - YPR??) verifying??

I haven't called the number back, but I'm sure tired of the weird "bate."

I just received a call from YPR and when I picked up, no one was there.

YPR stands for Yellow Pages Research.  Complaints also show up under 559-272-6410.  Someone else wrote the parent company is Verafast.  They have a website. It doesn't seem to be a scam, but it's harassment from all the comments I've been reading.

I just moved and set up phone service with a brand new number.  Ever since I've been getting calls from this number several times a day.  I don't answer, and they don't leave any messages.

nope dont work for them, and I am not endorsing them! im just simply letting you know that I did talk to them and that is what heppened, whether you want to persue any relation/retaliation is upto you... try making your own decisions on the facts I gave you rather then just assuming about stuff which you know nothing about! calls two to three times a day, I have not answered, but I wish they would stop calling.

Ughhh these stupid MF'S leave people the hell alone!!!! Especially when you are on the DO NOT CALL LIST A**HOLES!!! At least have some freaking balls to actually have REAL people answer your phones and not a stupid machine you worthless peice of S**T!!!!!!!!!!!

i keeping getting calls from 9am, to 638pm. they keep calling and hanging up. the caller id states its ypr. the other day a woman actually was on the other line. my answer machine got the call and all she did was keep saying hello. and then she hung up. I really enjoy when people call like this. it really gives me the privileged to go and flip out on some one. lol

Received several of the same phone calls from YPR.  Called the number back, was busy and then finally got through to a recorded Customer Service number that stated if I entered my tel number they would take me off of their list.  Did not do so as I was worried about calls being routed through my number (don't know if that can happen, but didn't want to find out.)
