Got a call on my cell, caller saying from Missouri Fraternal Order of Police asking (demanding) for donations of $200, $100 or $50.  The phone number was blocked.  Since this is my first time getting this type of call, I told the person to mail the info to me.  That was about 3 weeks ago.  Today, I got a "Official Receipt" for $50 from the Missouri Fraternal Order of Police with an address of PO Box 105617, Jefferson City, MO 65110-5617.  However, the US Postage Paid stamped on the envelope stated that it was mailed from zip code 64501 (St Joseph).  Also, on the "Official Receipt", they placed a phone number of 816-279-9022 (St Joseph).  I checked the website for the MFOP, and it was stated that it was based in Jefferson City, with telephone numbers starting with 573-

A guy called and asked for my husband by name...freaked me out.  Tried to call back but out of service

this  company  #816-986-0580 keeps calling and know one answers,does this several times .

i got a call from that caller id...sokansascy mo..but it was a different number. strange

Same crap as most people getting the call. Call back and out of order message playing. Have had a couple of them in the last month.

These people are playing some kind of scam they just keep calling me repeatedly.  Wont leave messages or give names.  They have their answering machine set to play the no longer in service message to keep people from calling them to find out who they are.

They are phone solicitors for the Fraternal Order of Police.

You mam are a liar,i have worked for the same companies and made the same calls and so is the the people above who say 10% is all that these places get. Thats B.S. and you know it most get 35% to 50% but either way no where you worked started you at 10 dollars a hr. And they do not train people to be mean or aggressive,they train people to try to get people to listen because most of the population in the u.s. is to illiterate and ignorant to understand what they are having explained to them.. And also no one trains people to take advandtage of non english speaking thats stupid why would they the calls are recorded by law in most states,and you cant pitch someone who doesnt speak english. One more thing, if you don't answer when they call, they will just put you on the call back list and you will continue to be called several times a day. Tell them when they call to put you on THEIR do not call list. It won't stop them all from calling,just that  one particular office that made the call, but after a few, it will. After that, if they call you demand to speak to someone in charge and they can pull that call and check that you asked not to be called anymore. Believe me, that office won't call anymore, they are too afraid of an FTC violation.

Ladies and Gents, I am here to tell you, DO NOT DONATE to these people. I worked for "Civic Development Group" or "CDG" or "Millenium" for a few months as a "Teleservice Repesentive" and they are horrible. We called for state fop's, fire departments, etc. Mostly Mosourri, Arkansas, and Ky. I am in Pikeville,Ky. But we were trained to give you the "impression" that we were a big burly police officer in ___________. I was one of the few females that done this job, and was quickly put into another part, validating peoples credit cards, because I didn't,and I quote, "sound mean enough". We were trained to take advantage of the old and non english speaking people. We read from a script and if we took no for an answer without pressuring the crap out of people we were in trouble. Ask them next time directly, are you a cop? Ask them how much do they get? The answer will be 12% or LESS. I guess the charities think 10% is better than 0. This company has many names, yet they all come from the same buildings, offices, etc.

I didn't last there long. It was unbelievable. But these companys target small towns in Ky, W. VA, and and places where there is very little jobs. So there $10 an hour sounded great. Most employees are high--school dropouts,etc. Not to say theres anything wrong with that, but they try to hire people that are so desperate to feed their families for more than min. wage, they will put up with this s***!

Fight back, ask them the questions. And, don't think being on the states "no call" list will help either, it doesn't apply to police or fire departments.

The 8162865774 number is a disconnected verizon wireless number.  they say they are from the fraternal order of police.  i have talked with verizon and the number hasn't been in use for awhile.  It is a scam so don't be fooled by them.

I've recieved 2 calls a day from this number since Sunday morning.  They called and asked for me and my grandmother told them that I wasn't there.  When she asked who was calling, the man simply said it's the Police Department, and hung up.  I've tried calling back several times, but I get a recording stating that "the Verizon Wirless number has been changed, disconnected or is no longer in service".  What is this??????

I've been getting these calls constanly also, but i never pick up, i let caller id and my answering machine do all the work,I thought i would check it out here on google search and i found this page.

I too have been recieveing these annoying phonecalls, I have already told them i cannot afford to donate money and that I donate to backstoppers, and they just keep on.  I answered one day and they were just like"Jennifer" and when asking who it was was they just kept saying my name...so rude!! How do we stop this?

I JUST TALKED TO MY PHONE COMPANY ABOUT THE CALL NOT DISCONECTING EVEN THOUGH I DID NOT ANSWER IT.  THEY TOLD ME HOW TO RESET MY PHONE.  I AM ON THE SUDEN LINK SYSTEM.  JUST PUSH RESET IN THE BACK OF YOUR BOX.

I RECEIVED A CALL FROM THIS 816-286-5774 AT 4:23 PM TODAY. IT IS NOW 5:16 PM AND IT HAS NOT DISCONECTED.  I TRIED TO CALL THIS NUMBER ON AN OTHER LINE AND THE RECORDING SAID THIS NUMBER HAS BEEN DISCONECTED OR IS NO LONGER IN SERVICE.  I'M FRUSTRAITED.  THE PHONE COMPANY SAYS THAT SINCE IT IS AFTER 5 PM THAT THEY CAN NOT HELP ME.  CAN ANYONE HELP?

Called for me while I was in the shower.  My wife answered, didn't identify himself and she told him I wasn't available.  He asked her if she was someone else and when she said no he hung up.  I called the caller ID number but it says it is a number no longer in service.

I recieve at least 2 calls from 816 286-5774 per day.  They leave no message, and when I answer nobody says anything to me, but they keep calling back. When I call the number back it is disconnected or no longer in service so it is a scam

Do not answer the phone but they call 50 times a day.

There are companies out there who solicit funds for the FOP, but rarely does the FOP get more than 5% of the funds if at all.  These are the same ones who send you a sticker to put in your windows making you think if you get stopped for speeding the officer will be linient with you; but it not the case.  

The FOP doesn't solicit funds for widowed spouses of police officers killed or injured in the line of duty.  As a former FOP member and police officer, if I were to be killed in the line of duty my $1 million life insurance policy through the FOP would have made my wife a rich woman.  The FOP doesn't provide bullet-proof vests either (another one of their sales pitches), those are provided by our police departments.  

So more than likely, it is a semi scam because they send you a sticker for your $40
