I've tried repeatedly to get put on their DO NOT call list.   Seems like it just made them call me more.  Right now I'm up to 11 calls just today.   This is becoming nothing short of harassment.  Don't ever give this company your phone number or you will be harassed endlessly by their robocaller.

Finally SPOKE to someone after a near 10 minute hold and asked them to stop calling me.  Since November 30th I have received 1 or two attempts from them EACH DAY.   I do not want to subscribe.  He SAID he was putting the request through, but I've already submitted a complant to the do not call registry - though I am not sure how much success I will have with that.

I will NEVER again subscribe to the KC Star if this is how they do buiness.

I block their #. That buys a couple of months. Then they start calling with one of their other multitude of numbers. I have blocked them four times since I cancelled.

They have called my cell my home and my husband's phone every day for over 3 years! When I do answer it hangs up on me! I called back many times, and also got "all reps are busy" so tonight I waited.... and FINALLY got a person on the phone.
She tells me it's an auto-dialer and will always call until a live person is reached, but she'd be happy to take me off the call list... gee thanks only took 3 years....

When they keep calling and you get on the no call list I think they should lose their phone services for good. We pay for our phones and this is how people get scammed all the time.......Congress is always wanting to control everything why not these people?

I quit subscribing to The Star. They billed me twice in one month, and I want nothing more to do with them. They have been delivering the paper for the last week, when I have not renewed.

I have been receiving numerous calls from this number, but no one ever leaves a message. There is voice mail, with a message. If they have the wrong number, quit calling. If they have the right number, leave a message!!! However, we have told them several times that the subscriber who this number is linked to in their records DIED!!! (Jim Bucher) We do not want the paper.

They have been calling me 1 or 2 times per day for over a year (all hours of day/night).  I have listed my number on the do not call list and personally told them I would NEVER do business with them again since they kept billing me long after I cancelled a subscription a couple years ago.

I wish there was a way to stop them!

This number has called my husband on his cell repeatedly, I just called the number back and left a very nasty voice message to STOP calling.  "He" then called MY cell number from a different number which I will list here. 816-456-4429.  I answered my cell, and he said he was returning MY call. I told him to STOP calling me and my husband, asked WHO he was and he said "stutteringly" I'm a lawyer" and have only returned calls that have been made to me. He is so full of crap. I'm tired of him.  Will be blocking any number he calls from.

Same story as the other posters here:  they call ALL. THE. TIME.  Usually right at 11am every day, then some random times.  They called just now (6pm on the dot) and for some reason, that was the call that finally pushed me over the edge.  Like the others said, when I DO answer, they hang up.  WHYYYYYY?! I subscribe, I pay on time, I don't know why they call!

I just canceled my KC Star subscription after they kept throwing my paper at the back of my house by the garage instead of my front porch like normal newspaper delivery services.  So after reading this thread sounds like they want me to reconsider. Yeah, not going to happen.

These people have been calling daily for over three months.  I finally called their office and threatened them with legal action.  I will never have anything to do with the Star again.  It is like stepping in something.  You just can't get it off of your shoe.  I cannot understand why a company like that would create so much ill will among the people.  It is so disrespectful.

Kansas City Star Circulation Department: 816-329-5100  Recently, for a very short time, I subscribed to the Kansas City Star newspaper.  Upon cancelling the subscription, they called numerous times, never leaving a message.

I followed the instructions of a previous poster: To get the Star to stop calling, call 1-877-962-STAR (7827) and push 0 to talk to an operator.

I just made the call and hope it will stop them from calling.  Good Luck!

I've asked them at least 10 times over the past 2 years to stop calling.  They just called again.  This is why I refuse to buy their paper!

816-329-5100  Good Luck!!!!  This is the number for KC Star Sales.  Don't bet your life or hold your breath that the calls will stop.

Calling down there sounds as though you are speaking to a kindergarden, make that pre-kindergarden play room.  I went through 3 levels of "management" this evening to make certain that the calls stop.

Very little faith that this will occur.

Will cancel my subscription to this KC Star tomorrow.

Update:  Calling Tim Doty, the Vice President of Advertizing, was successful.  Although Tim did not call me back, I did receive a call to address this.

Of interest is that they reviewed the logs of the recent "robo calls" that were made to me, and when asked if calling every 2 or 3 days and multiple times per day seemed excessive, they responded, "No."

Try calling or leaving a message for the VP of Advertising.  Tim Doty's contact information can be found on the Kansas City Star web page.  Although I have copied that here, please verify this information and get his e-mail address from their web page.

Tim Doty, Vice President, Advertising 816-234-4085

Unfortunately, or fortunately for Tim, his home number is not listed, else I would call him each time the KC Star calls me.

They've been calling me off and on for two years. It will go two or three months without a phone call. And then all of a sudden I'll get them several times in a day. I will never subscribe to this horrible paper because of these phone calls.
