I too got a call from catherine jones. Same experience.  I just told her i will call back  if i need and closed the call.  i am  just a home maker , so why  would i get grants??? - to simply sit at home here :) ha ha .. that was very funny of the call.. i just smiled to myself !! Pls be aware people. Don't believe such calls.  Smae bla blah that lady told me about 'western union' etc..  true scam !!

just got similar call while at work, googled federal or goverment loyalty grant while on the phone and saw this forum. Thank god people share their experience or i'm sure a lot more people would fall in this trap. the call also came up as unknown for me and then rang when i picked up then some one picked up ( red flag #1). the guy had a super heavy accent almost robotic but with and indian or middle eastern tone and said he was calling from the fedral govt loyalty something or other which i had him repeat like 3 times cause i couldnt hear him. Our govt (US) would never a foreign call center to tell people they have recieved a stimulus grant. (red flag#2). The reason he said i qualified for 7 thousand $ grant were so general that if this was true you'd hear about all over the news and online. Also we just finished an election i'm pretty sure it would have been mentioned that $7,000 grants were being handed out to "good Citizens". (red flag #3). Finally the guy was getting mad at me for asking him to repeat statement because he was talking so fast and mispronouncing words all over the place. Final red flag they had my nickname/shortened name that i use on various things but he didnt have a my whole last name.

If it was the governement, you'd probably get a letter not a phone call and they would have your government name just like the stimulus checks that many people recieved during the last year of Bush. Hang up or tell them to get you off there list, dont give any info, and feel free to mess with them a bit they are messing with you.

Not this particular phone number, but same MO.  Hilarious, the caller said his name was "Jack Nicholson".  I asked to speak to his supervisor, and his name was "James Brown" (I feel good!).   I kept him & his supervisor on the line for 25 minutes (I had time to kill) - I can't believe they held on all that time!  I desperately tried to get information from them.  He did give me an address - 200 independent st   sw ave washington DC.  Of course, that was bogus - that's the Dept of Health & Human Services.  I asked him what agency he reported to, and he said the "Grant Department" reported directly to the Federal Government - what does that even mean???  Then, after I prompted him, he said, oh yeah, our department reports to the Treasury Department.   Please, please, please, somebody catch these ignorant bozos & put them in jail - or better yet, take all of their money, and then deport them.

Received a call (x10) from Unknown Caller. When I finally answered a young man with a very heavy Indian or Filipino accent told me I was chosen as a recipient of a US Govt 'Loyalty' Grant for 7000.00. I was given a grant confirmation number and an 816-336-1863 number to call and confirm my grant. I was told to ask for Katherine Jones. Ms 'Jones' returned my call and I was told that I could redeem my grant either by direct deposit in checking or savings, 'plastic' card (they asked for a card number) or cash. I told them I would take it in cash.  To receive the cash I would need to go to a western union and call her from there. Also, i would pay a one time fee to help the 'homeless, hungry countries'. I would have to pay this fee before receiving my grant. I told her to take the money and donate to the 'homeless, hungry countries' and take my number off her list. Honestly, I talked to 3 people and none of them could speak understandable English. SCAM, SCAM, SCAM.

Please look into this I needed a loan and I have now psi what I believe to be over 1500.00 to them and have no loan they keep asking for more money...taxes, insurance, ect my bank account is nearly wiped out! When I started to get uncomfortable they threatened to have police show to my job and arrest me!
