Have called many times for a Discover Card "loyalty offer" when you say anything but yes or no, they just start the script over. We are blocking this number.

This number has called our business 5 TIMES TODAY. They wait for you to state your greeting and THEN hang up. We are so frustrated. We have tried to block this number using *67, but it did not work as they KEEP calling! And when you try to call that number back, it tells you the phone number is "not in service".

This makes me think it's an outgoing line only used for telemarketing. Is it a Discover card business number? We are on the DO NOT CALL list. Any advice on how to stop this number from calling us a thousand times a day? Thank you!

multiple calls from this #, the morons who call dont even know what they are calling for, when asked they simply hang up, you cant even get to a point to tell them to stop calling.

They keep saying "free" but later mention that your first month is free. So they do charge you for subscribing to their service. They claim to give your business a featured spot on Google, Yahoo, etc. According to one victim, the only thing they put on Google is a link to their own website.

got 10 calls the last 2 weeks, they refused to take my number off list.

A woman called asking for the owner, I asked what it was regarding [I couldn't understand her] but it had to do with a website company. I politely asked her to take my company off their call list and she yelled, "WHY???" I told her the owner requested it and asked her again to please take my company off their call list. She then said, "NO!!!" I asked to talk to the superviser, she said he wasn't in.. I asked for their telephone number, she wouldn't give it to me, said she would call back  and hung up on me.

3 times in a week this # has called asking for a owner or a manager. Will not give message or info. They Always hang up on me

Have received several calls from this number and they say they are from Discover Merchant Services and want to extend a special offer to our company and ask for the person in charge.  We screen our calls and as we ask more questions about what their call is concerning, they become more and more evasive and say they want to offer a special promotion for only $29.95 a month.  We say we are not interested and they become very persistent to speak to the "person in charge."  This is a total scam call and I am taking the time out of normal duties to pass this along.  Do not give these people ANY information and tell them NOT to call again.  If they do ... report them.

This number is connected to another number 213-533-8042...it comes up Global Reach Int, or Zip Wide Web....you can google the 213 number and see the 8 pages of people getting the same calls that you all at the 816 number are getting....Very similar complaints, rude people, unable to understand them at times, vague information given when they are asked questions.  I have contacted ATT as the 213 number is through them and they said they cannot stop these people from making the calls and that if we get proof that they are harassing or threatening anyone that we need to call the authorities and file a report but they won't shut the number down.  ugh.

they (phc) have been calling the business i work at over 5 times a day and it gets pretty frustrating because i work at a salon and we answer the phone ourselves. so it can put us behind with our clients. also i have never been able to talk to anyone and when i call back it's busy.

This company had a caller ID PHC company 1-816-389-2565.  She said she had seen a recent article that we had published about us in Cape Cod Life (true) and wanted to sell us a wooden plaque of the mounted news article.  I hung up before she finished (we're on both Federal and State Do Not Call Lists as a business).  She called me back and said we must've gotten disconnected.  I said "We certainly did" and she continued on the pitch.  I asked the caller's name and she said she was 'Robin Lopez' representing That's Great News of 908 South Meriden Road - Cheshire, CT 06410 - 888-715-4900.

When I told her that we were a business and on the Do Not Call lists and would she please make sure we were listed as such with her company she hung up on me.

I think this PHC company represents other companies, such as this one in CT and would urge them (That's Great News) not to do business with them.  Any more of this and both companies will have formal complaints filed on our behalf.

Several calls over past weeks. Four today. A person, proably different each time, not a machine... I have to wait for the pick-up...when I don't hang up in time, caller speaks something unintelligble about the web and discover and zip code... I wonder what the reward is thought to be for the obnoxious persistence?  Perhaps this is a test of the tolerance of answerers?

I had a call today, asked for the owner of the place.  I hanged up.

Received several calls from this number. Caller identified himself as Jason.  Told me they were representing Google and my business would be featured on the WWW.  Told Jason I did not want my company feature and to put me on the "no call list."

I too have getting calls from this number, 8 per day for the last month.  No none ever answers on their end.  Must be auto dial.  Is there any way I can block this number?

Same experience with this phone number. I told him that I would be contacting the FTC and the local Kansas City Police. He hung up immediately.

Both my husband and I have been getting repeated calls from this number (We both run businesses out of our home). We usually just ignore the phone when the number comes up on caller ID, however the one time I did answer, I immediately received a hangup and dial tone. I called back the number, and received a recorded message stating that "the next representative would be with me shortly", then after a few seconds, I got the 3 pitched beep with "We're sorry, due to a network issue, you call cannot be completed.....". Found this site while looking for info on the number or company.

they have been calling all day long.

they just aggravate the hell out of you.

it's a scam thing.

I receieved 17 calls today from 816-389-2565. They never leave a message and when I answer there is no one there. I call back several times and it would never ring. Today I called back and got a brief recording that said someone would be right with me. Then.... I waited and nothing. No one ever picked up.
These calls are to my CELL PHONE. How do I stop this?

This company has been calling me for weeks and when I pick up, no one answers.  I would like these stopped...how?  I am on the do not call registry but they don't seem to care.

Call the phone number that CJ provided on July 16th. You'll get customer service.  Tell them if the calls don't stop you'll call them 3X for each call you receive.  Don't be nice!  It works.

Today, 7/26/07, at about 2 pm and 2:20 pm.  Caller ID "PHC COMPANY".  No one on the line.  Bad news!  I am Upset, Apprehensive, and Angry!!! We are on all the no-call lists we know about and we have phone service with a cable provider.  When I called the number, a recording said, "Taaa da da.  The number you have reached is not a working number. Please check the number and try again.  Message 3yk."

Get 4 calls from this number every day.  So far, we've gotten about about 21 calls from them....never gotten the chance to pick up.  Tried calling back multiple times, but only get a machine telling me that no representatives are available and to try and call later.  I have a strong urge to rip these people a new......you know what.

Okay, so I just got another call on my cell phone from somebody who keeps getting phone calls from this 213-533-8042 number which is partly my cell number in AZ. I'm getting people calling me thinking I'm the one calling them and hanging up!  The gal that called me actually spoke to someone who gave her another number to call and make a complaint.  The number is 800-222-5529 and the guy she spoke to there called himself "Rico" and then changed it to "Richard".  He said he is with "Zip" and was very vague about what they do.  He gave their address as 16133 Ventura Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 91436.  I'm hesitant to call them myself for fear they have caller ID and will actually add me to their call list.  For now I think I'm better off with people who call me thinking I called them and explaining the situation to them calmly.

She also posted a note on the 213-533-8042 complaint page and I think the 816-389-2565 is also part of this group of jerks. When I googled the 800 number this 816 number also appeared.  Sounds like the 816 numbers cover the midwest and the 213 number covers the western states. UGH the saga continues.  I have filed a complaint with the FTC (#1106615) and they said when they get enough complaints their lawyers look into it.  I gave them the website and told them there are 5 pages of complaints about the 213 number.  Maybe y'all should do the same with the 816 number.

I got a phone call from these folks last week and again today.  The guy today didn't "appreciate" the fact that I interrupted him to ask "Are you actually with Discover"?  He began yelling at me.  I hung up and let the machine get it the next 8 times it rang, which were back to back over the next few minutes.  I felt VERY intimidated.  These people have GOT to be crooks, they won't answer any questions about themselves or their company when asked.

I called Discover and spoke with their security department.  They are aware of this and working towards finding PHC Company in the 816 area code.  Merchants beware!!!

I received a few calls from this number over the last week. I told them not to call back and they still call. Is there a way to have this number blocked by the local phone company ?

I guess there is some justice.  I just accidentally hung up on this number then did an e-check and found the comments.  I don't feel so bad now!
