I too received three phone calls today from   816-420-4635 saying "CitiBank".   Then asking me to give them all of my info.....which I will NOT do.   They said " legally they can't tell me why they are calling" unless I give them info I would never give them.

Be VERY wary of this phone number.

Yep, it?s Citi cards calling to bug you about a late payment.  They call constantly, almost 8x a day.  I finally starting saving the phone numbers and setting the ringer to silent, so now they won?t bother me?at least until they call from the next new number.  I am up to 12 numbers! : 816-420-4003; 336-522-8998; 817-802-1496; 972-655-2510; 904-954-3073; 904-954-3071; 859-283-3677; 859-283-8071; 972-655-5210; 740-834-1496; and 816-420-4002 are ALL CITI BANK!!!

I have told them I am not paying because I have filed bankrupcy and my lawyer told me not to pay anymore. I did all the paper work with my lawyer I have to go back for the final signing and then a court date will be set and they still call and call I don't answer. I have had it with them and many others.
You are right they get a bail out but we are harassed. Not no more I can't wait until I am clear from them.

This number is for Citi Card - there's no one there because it is a computer dialing your number and once you pick up it alerts the CSR that you are on the phone and then they pick up.

Just called the number back and got a real person! They have called me several time's a day as well. They ask for the last 5 digit's of my social security number and my credit card number! Who ask's for the last 5 digit's? Didn't give it to them and they said they couldn't help me. Wanted to know if I had a credit card with a Citi logo, I said yes, but please quit calling. He said call the number on the back of my card. We have supported this country and financial system for several year's, these company's have gotten their bailout!  It's a scam no doubt, but for the person who said live within your mean's. Many of us do but, when you and your wife lose your job's and use up your savings in 6 month's let me know how that work's out for you!

These turds have been calling me on my cell phone everyday for a week, but I never answer because I don't know anyone in the 816 area code and I don't have a CitiBank credit card or any outstanding debts with any institutions.

Also receiving calls from (904)954-3073 and ignore them too.

Same thing happening to me more than 10 times on a daily basis. My payment isn't even due until July 17th. Citi you will get your damn money, but you could at least wait until the due date before harassing the crap out of me.

I have been wondering who this number reaches.  I checked my Citi card and realized automatic payments stopped so this morning  I sent the payment for May and June on the internet.  Still the phone is ringing now.  I wish they would stop.  They already charged me $40 for a payment that was 10 days late and collectd a payment 20 days early.  I set the payments to be sent automatically again.

What is they need?

***RESOLVED!***

I was getting the same thing...numerous calls, no messages...very annoying.
I have no overdue balance, etc...
After reading the threads online, I had assumed it was probably some scam.
After waaay too many calls, I finally called all my credit cards by calling the number on my card and asked if there was any reason they would be calling me. Citi AT&T suprisingly said yes, it was them.

Apparently a large number of AT&T Mastercards may have been compromised somehow by some Mastercard merchant, and they are calling to tell me that as a precaution, I will be getting a new card and number in the mail.

The thing is, they sent me a new card for that same reason just a few months ago. Oh well...better safe than sorry I guess.

Anyway, I am not defending them....these calls are ridiculous!!!! And nobody should EVER volunteer your account or personal info to an incoming call. But...I am saying that you should call the number on your card and check to see if there is an issue.

She told me that she would notate in my account that she had talked to me, and that the calls should stop.

Citi, they call from all kinds of different numbers.  I've told them when I can pay them (I'm also on leave for a back injury and waiting for surgery).  It makes no difference they call ALL day long anyway.  I really don't even care anymore.  It just rings and I ignore it unless it's somoeone I know.  They want to try and get you on the phone, so that they can squeeze some amount of money out of you.  They don't care if you're broke and don't have enough money for the house payment.  I've told them they will be paid when I'm back at work, and they will.  Sick of their underhanded crap though.  When I tell You I have no money for you I MEAN IT.. JEEZ.

I don't believe it is Citi cards. They always call from an 866 number from Illinois. I've started getting the calls today, but I hardly answer my phone so of course I missed it both times...

Called me while in Germany and every time I picked up they hung up. I got charged for those calls....!!! It turns out that while on vacation, I missed to schedule a payment for $15 !!!! I mean, come on! Was it so hard to say something and not hang up instead of charging international minutes to my phone bill?! Citi, I am so fed up of your policy...I am closing your stupid cards that I don't use anyway....

it's NOT citi, it's a scam. if you paid your bill, then the calls would stop, trust me. i was late, they (actual citi) called me, but i didn't give them any info except to tell them i will call them back with the info when i can pay. so i called back and the people who called me WERE citi. but this number still calls me and wants my info.

i told them i would "call them back" and of course i won't, i'm caught up and know better.

SO DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR INFO! CALL CITI YOURSELF!

I don't know who these people are.  I do not have any Citi credit as far as I know, and all of my bills are paid.  They have called 5 times today.  I hit call back on my cell and a fellow answered Citi Credit, and identified himself as Darrel.

Since I haven't got any cards from them, I have decided to ignore the annoyance, but being on the do not call list doesn't seem to stop these jokers.
