I had no idea that this text message existed until I just now opened my Verizon Wireless Access Manager (kinda like a 'dashboard').  On the "Text Messaging" tab there were two messages I'd not received on my smartphone, the layout is as follows:

Unsolicited phone text message from this number stating "Susan" asked me to send you this. This is nothing but spam - Do Not Open.

I got a text from the number 8165182937 saying "Michelle said to send this to you http://bit.ly/VWEmaG" .. I went to it and it's a site claiming that I'm an Ipad winner. I knew it was fake but now I don't want to be charged for these weird text messages or have a virus on my computer from the random website that wont let me close it without clicking on a bunch of windows first.

I just received the Lisa message with the same url.  I typed the url into a secure web browser and saw an ad for a Costco card.  Right, this is a phishing scam.  Better to report them than to click on the link.

Received a spam text message from this phone number.

First, do NOT reply to this caller.  Ignore the text; do not check website either.  What this caller is doing is illegal and, having a relative high up in law enforcement, I'm going to give him this number (816-518-2937) and check to find out who the caller really is and check the person for "priors" (Crimes.)  Don't reply, don't woryy-just IGNORE these texts.  But if they continue, call authorities.

Received misleading text on cellphone from this number (816-518-2937) claiming: "Lisa wants you to check this website."  Lists some website (I have no intention of checking out.)  These calls/texts are ILLEGAL and, should they continue, I will contact the phone company and proper authorities to (stop) spam texts/calls from this caller.

I got one, too.  It looks like a scam.  I wouldn't click on the link if you get something like this...

same thing- if you have a phone that will let you I would register it as spam. Also you can most of the time contact your cell provider and report the number as a "phishing" scam.

Got the "michelle" message on a pre paid phone that cost me $1.09 in fees to recieve!
