I have gotten so many calls from this number, day and night.  If I answer, a recording says to hold please, then no one comes on the line.  I finally had it blocked, but then CBE started calling me again from a new phone number.

sure enough it was for a different person. Asking for the same guy when they called a couple of months ago. Told them the same thing with the wrong number. Said she wants to take our number off. Hope it's true, I am sick of getting calls for someone else and have to explain over and over...

CBE shows up on caller id. They keep calling several times a day, never leave a message. One time I picked up and was told by a recording "please hold". I didn't wait and hung up.
I don't owe any debt... months ago I received calls from another company for someone I don't even know. They kept calling back over and over even after I told them they have the wrong person. I checked online and saw that they had one digit wrong. Maybe it's calling them again using a different #. I don't want to talk them at all, last time they were so rude and called me a liar for telling them I am the wrong person.

Have had numerous calls from this number with a recorded message asking for someone with the same first initial and last name as my husband.  It says if this is this person, press "1", if not, press "2".  I always press 2 and then it plays music before I hang up.  We have been getting calls for this person for years but we do not know who he is.  One morning they called just after 8 am--today at almost 9.  It is very annoying.

Seriously though. I mixed a really good blue, it's raining... unwelcome eavesdropping is bad enouph, don't make me go there on a false alarm. I'm not kidding.

Based on Dish Network comment above I'm guessing this is who is calling my office every night and leaving a message on my voice mail.  I agree that Dish is the worst company EVER.  I paid their outrageous bills, I returned all their damn equipment and now they have sent me to collection for not paying an $18 return shipping charge on equipment that was 8 years old!  They can call from now until hell freezes over....

I just did that and they removed my number without hassle (or at least said they did).

I understand this is a debt collection company for a dish/satellite company!  My husband and I have ALWAYS had cable and I don't know why they're calling us several times every day but I want it to STOP NOW!  I have their number and address and will forward to the Kansas Attorney General if these annoying calls don't stop now.

Someone posted a  number we could call to have our phone number removed from their list.  It is 800-925-6686.
I just called it and I was told my number would be removed.  Hopefully that will be the case and I won't be called by these people anymore.  Also, I purchased something that someone suggested on this site and it is working great (except for the CBE group that seems to have SEVERAL numbers they call from.  I guess I could just keep blocking each number). lol  Anyway, it is a small device called Digitone-Call Blocker.  No...I don't sell it but, I certainly do recommend it.  My phone blocks people but...I always have that annoying first ring.  The Digitone does not let you hear that first ring with the numbers that you have blocked.  Their website is http://www.digitone.com/.

Calls with no sound.  If the government is truly serious about solving the debt crisis, put the government resources currently slothing at the government trough, and have them start fining the people behind these illegal phone calls.   I would say 1% of the population gets one of these a day.

Hello, Im getting calls from (816)659-1047. When I answer they asking for some unknown person. I keep asking for them to remove my number, but they haven't done so as of yet. They are Dish Networks Collection agency. They are calling me for not returning a 3 year old remote control, when I cancelled my dish service after 15 years of loyalty. Their piece of crap remote broke 4 months after we got it, but it was no longer in the 90 day warranty period and they wouldnt replace it, so I threw it out and bought a $10 universal that worked better anyway. Then when I canceled my service because they wanted to charge me a ridiculous amount to upgrade to hopper (which new customers get for free, but customers from 1996 have to pay for) I cancelled my service. They want me to send back all my recievers, the sattlelite from the roof, and all my remotes. I didnt return the piece of crap that broke (because I threw it away), so now I am getting charged for it, and their Nazi Spanglish collection agency calls my cell phone twice a day including Sundays. Shows you what loyalty gets you with this company.

Have an idea. Block your #, call them, and bug THEM!  I just belched and hung up...juvenile? You bet. Fun? Absolutely!

My company gave me a Blackberry recently and someone from this number has called twice now, both on a Tuesday morning. I know it isn't business because it is way out of our service area. I don't answer and they don't leave messages.

They want you to verify information but refuse to say who they are or why they are calling...  Yes they call about 5- 6 or more times a day and it is stupid.  Say who you are get it over with and move on.........

my cell number is on do not call - so why are they calling- and if it is a debt collector- that bothers me - but should be calling home number ir sending mail, etc as I should not have any debt issues.

They have called me at least 3 times a day,i dont answer and ran the 816-659-1047 number and found it is CBE group.they got pissed at me but i told them to take me off the list.
