A guy calling himself William (could not understand his last name) from a law firm called "Murphy, Jackson & (something I couldn't understand) called and said there were criminal proceedings against me and that I or my attorney needed to call back right away to avoid officers showing up to arrest me. However, I've tried calling back several times and keep getting a fast busy signal. I know it's a scam but want to record these guys in the act. Unfortunately for him, he doesn't realize he's begun harassing an investigative journalist...

Different angle.  I answer phones at my work.  I stop all creditors that call here.  The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), says that creditors cannot call you at your place of business one they have been informed not to receive calls there.  ANYONE can tell the creditor that.  Even a janitor.  I immediately tell them they MUST remove this # from their contact list and contact them at home.  

So I've actually enjoyed protecting my co-workers.  I've been yelled at, threatened, and harassed.  

So John Smith, called for my co-worker.  I told him to remove this number because he's not allowed to take personal phone calls because he works in the field (he doesn't it's just something I say).  John told me (in his heavy accent with all the call center people talking in the background), that it is very important that he call him otherwise officers will come to our office.  I said that's fine, that he can do that, because I REFUSE to give him the information. That actually this is a Government office (which it is) and he is not allowed to call here again!  He hung up on me.

I track all creditors that call our office.  Creditors may pass to another company, but it is illegal for them to harass a company once they are told to not call again.

Yup, I got the same call and the same name today on my home phone and work. Same exact thing like you. Its a scam.

I received a call saying the same thing from a Ryan McKenzie ext 109

Same thing he left a message saying he was William Brown funny same guy calls me every month from different numbers with different names saying I will be arrested which is BS, it's all scam & I'm not falling for it, I did once @ they drained my bank account, I closed it & now they are trying to get it again  I'm not given no one my information ever again, they would even pretend to call me from my local sheriffs office & claim to be the actual sheriff lol didn't fall for it, I'm still waiting for them to come arrest me, so much bs

Just got a call from a guy saying he is Jack Lewis paralegal with heavy foreign accent they was stopping my social check and they will make my life miserable so I can think it's a sh-- . Left me a message after I hung up on him

Jeff Dawson or Dodson, terrible English.  Left messages for me at home and work.  I know this is bogus.  I don't have any legal issues and I am not intimidated.  I blocked him on my cell phone and I am going to see if I can block him some other way.  He is only contacting me because I started the process to get a payday loan and changed my mind.  I don't have any pay day loans.

I received a call at my work to day and also my cell phone from a gentle names Arthur Brown. He had a foreign accent and said it was an emergency that I call him back. He stated that there was a lawsuit against me. I called the number back and the connection was very bad, but when I asked him to provide documentation and who his company was representing, he put me on hold and never returned.  

I was concerned that I am being harassed and that upsets me because it causes problems at work.

This number is harassing my phone with information I do not know anything about.

got several calls from this number yesterday 816 892 0103 and he call my job last night and left a messae that I better get my sh** together. So to day he called and I asked him what he wanted he said it was a leagaal matter and wanted to verify the last four of my soc. sec number when i told him it was illegal to call me at work he said he was a paralegal and he knows the laws and would have my boss and me aressted. He left the name Jeff Dodson but I dont think so  like the other guy said he english was so bad you cant hardly understand him. I dont know of any law firm in the us that would act in this manner.

got a call from this guy several times today, won't say who he is or where he is from, just that I am going to be arrested and that the ball is in my court, I think that is what he said, could not understand because of a deep foreign accent
