Total scam. No it is not legal it is an attempted extortion.   If you were going to be arrested you'd have already been interviewed by a representative of the police.    Like I say, this is an extortion attempt.  You are a potential or real  crime victim.   They are trying to get money out of you by scamming a debt.   They are throwing around a lot of worthless legal jargon in order to frighten you into paying them something.

Go to police and report an extortion attempt.  Do not talk to these scammers.  Don't give them any information, Block their calls.  Make a report to your local attorney general.

I called the Kansas City, MO Police and they advised this is fraud and to contact the Attorney Generals Office at 866-889-5000 615 # 13th St, Suite 431  Kansas City MO  64106.  My concern is for the olderly who are not going to relize it is a fraud.  The Attorney General is asking for a copy of the voice mail I have because this is an active case.  So yes, we know who should be arrested.

I got the same message this morning around 10am and I was concerned because when I tried to call back no one answered. I decided to google the number and this website popped up. Glad I did because even though I have never been in trouble my ex pulled a few shady moves after we split up so I was a little nervous!

I missed a call from this number(8169120211). A voice message was left stating that there was a legal case against me and I would be arrested from my home or work. I then called the number back about 8 times.(no one answered) On about the 9th call a woman named Stella Woods picked up. She stated that she was from Cash Net and I was going to be arrested for some delinquent bills. I asked what bills and she couldn't tell me. She said I should have my attorney contact them as well as turn myself in. She then said she would speak with her senior attorney to see what other options I have. While she placed me on hold I looked up 'cash net' it came up as a pay day loan type place. When she came back on the line I asked her if paperwork can be sent out regarding this matter. I was told no and officers will arrive at my home with the paper work and to arrest me. She then said after speaking with her senior attorney I could make a payment with him to take care of this matter. (I'm no fool) I told her I looked up her company 'Cash net' and it turned out as a pay day loan business. Stella seemed to have gotten upset by this news. I told her go ahead and transfer me to her senior attorney. She disconnected the call.
Damn scammers have nothing better to do!!! I'm not easily fooled.

I got a missed call from caller id # Mark Hall Service (816)912-0211 Kansas City, MO.they left a message saying I was going to be arrested at my home or place of employment. Weird thing was that my family lives in Kansas City, MO. but I live in California so I thought it was just a bill collector trying to get a hold of one of my family members. I called them back saying they must have the wrong person and a lady said is this Toni _____ I was floored and said yes it is. She proceeded to tell me that I had a legal case filed against me from either Cash Net and a few other examples but never gave me any exactly details.  She just stressed that there was a legal case against me for $858.08. I explained that I have all my bills in order and have no clue what she is talking about. I told her I need the exact name of who is filing a law suit against me and for what. Then she verified my address, which was scary. Who are these people and how in the heck do they have my information. She then said that my case would be filed within an hour and expect the police to come to my home and arrest me. It was weird because I was talking to her calmly and then when I asked for a case number or for her to send me documents of what I owed she got upset and started yelling at me. She did give me a file number and now after reading all these complaints on line I'm so glad I didn't give her any information. Be careful out there, I guess it's getting easier and easier for people to get your information.

Got a message stating I had a case against me and was getting arrested.  When I called back he kept making me state yes if I agreed and was very hard to understand due to accent.  He said he was a lawyer.  When he started reading me my arrest affidavit he said I had written numerous bad checks- I hung up because I have not owned a checkbook since 1990's.  I tried calling back and he answered acting like he couldn't hear me and then will not answer the phone anymore.  I called our local police dept because I was worried and they reassured me that this was a big scam!

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010  FBI National Press Office
(202) 324-3691

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim?s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims? relatives, friends, and employers.

Caller id shows Mark Hall Service......Got a voicemail message today  saying "We have received a legal case against you and for that reason you will be getting arrested from your physical address or work place. If you need any further information you can reach me at 8169120211.   When I call back someone calling himself "Attorney Allen Brown answered" (Foreign accent) When I asked him what kind of case he had against me he says it is cyber crime which is a federal crime and that I would be arrest and held for 1 day for interrogation and would be taken before a judge.  He started to read the "case" against me mentioning a figure of $10,500.00 in cyber banking fraud and said it would go against my social security number...when I asked him for the last 4 of my SSN he repeated my question back to me and then said that number would be in the paperwork that he would send me in 1 hour and hung up.  I called back and again asked him for the last 4 of my SSN.  He again said it would be in the paperwork and hung up. I called back and told him I would be reporting this as a scam with my local police fraud unit.  He said to have them call him and we would see who is the scammer.  I said this is a BS scam and he hung up.  I'm still waiting for them to come get me...........
