URS, as well as other agencies, are now using CALL FORWARDING features to try and get callers to answer. They use LOCAL AREA CODES to encourage callers to answer by making them think that the call is local. If that doesn't work, they will forward the call to a number in the nearest area code and generate it from there.
DO NOT ANSWER. Invariably, they will hang up without leaving a message. However, if you do, you are in for a good harassment call.

This company (United Recovery) is a real lame company.
The number they dial from usually comes in as a local number as they use special tools now and phone trunking so the # is local number
The number that called this week is (817) 210-3927
The name of the company is below and the extension # of the lady who calls. She's a real "nice lady" if you know what I mean.

United Recovery Systems, Inc. (URS) is a Houston-based private collection agency. In 2002, URS was sued by the Federal Trade Commission for grossly disregarding the collection agency regulations set forth by the 1978 FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act). It was a landmark case in that it was the first in which the FTC enforced action against a debt collection agency for violating the rights of Spanish-speaking persons.
The result was that United Recovery Systems was made to pay $240,000 in civil damages to the FTC (not the consumers that URS harassed and abused). Additionally, it was mandated that URS would, in the future, advice, in written form, each debtor contacted that they had a legal right to request them to cease and desist communication attempts with them. They were further ordered to provide a valid URS phone number and other relevant contact information.
After all of that, United Recovery Systems easily handled the smack on their wrist and are back at it today in grand style. They still have regular complaints lodged against them by outraged consumers. There is no company-provided contact information to be found.

Got a call from this number. Middle Eastern sounding woman. Had my name wrong and was looking for someone I do not know. Sounded like a set up fishing expedition to me.

This is URS a debt collection agency. Not sure who they contract with yet, but VERY annoying.
