Call comes into our toll free numbers and it tries to fax.This costs us money and the number they are calling is not a fax number
There name comes up as Protege SVCS.
WE have over 20 different numbers they use to called us on!
Please help stop them!

Same complait as everyone else. I contacted my toll-free number service provider (tollfreenumber.org -- OPEX Communications) and had them block all calls from the 817 area code. However, I'm trying to figure out the motive behind this scam and I can only come up with one. I wonder if this company has some association with tollfreenumber.org/OPEX Communications. I have no complaints about tollfreenumber.org/OPEX at all, but I am wondering if possibly their billing is outsourced, and the company who does their billing gets a percentage of the billed amounts. If so, that billing company would benefit from making all of these 3 second calls to the toll-free numbers and running up everyone's bills, unbeknownst to the service provider.

That's all I can come up with. I'm curious who other people are using for their toll-free service. Maybe there's a link there.

Call comes in on business line and sends fax tone after hours. Looks like they are trying to find fax randomly.

Same problem a the Steve above but with a differant 800 company

My phone receives call from 817-238-1300 and this company is trying to fax a cell phone.  AT&T is my provider and states they have no responsibility to prevent this.

These ignorant low-lifes might be getting some kind of monetary value out of this completely MORONIC action. We are getting calls every other day and Time Warner canNOT block the 817 area code.  Protege Moran,Inc.  has 100's of lines that are programed to 817-237.  These are beyond ignorant low-lifes!!!!!!!!!  Someone in Fort Worth needs to pay them a visit....... to their homes with the police charging these imbiciles with "disturbing the peace" to thousands of telephone customers.

We get several calls per day to our 800 numbers.  When answered there are a few touchtones followed by modem or fax tones.  This has been happening for several months and is costing $$ on our 800 service bills.  Here is a list of the numbers calling like this in last 2 weeks.

This number, and other 940 and 817 numbers, have called our business lines multiple times.  No fax (sounds like a fax tone),no way to look them up or ask them to stop calling. Companies affiliated with these numbers are: Affordaphone Inc., Max-Tel Communications, Inc.  Filing a Junk Fax 1088 Form with the FCC and filing a complaint with the FTC, recommend you do so as well.  The more people who report this, the louder we are, the faster authorities may to something about it.
