Live in FL. WANT calls to end!

I had been getting calls every day from this number, so I finally called them back to see what they wanted.  A woman answered and said they pick up clothing for the BLIND. She even KNEW MY ADDRESS which always makes me suspicious since it's not in the phone book at all. Less than a half hour after I spoke with her, I got another call from them. Why do they NEVER LEAVE A MESSAGE? I do not think they are legit at all. Something weird is going on. I suggest everyone report this number on the NO CALL website.  It may help.

I've had several calls from this number.  They say they are with National Federation for the Blind.  Their english is terrible and they never pronounce my name right.  

These #%^}! Scammers call several times a day and have been for years. I doubt they are a legitimate charity. More like fraudsters claiming to work for charities.

Has been calling for months. Leaves no message, but there's nothing there when you say hello. Caller ID says "clothing pickup", but idk how accurate that is as I've never donated to anyone that called soliciting donations. They do NOT respect national do not call list, & haven't found any other way to inform them to stop.

These people have called again and again I have asked to be taken off this list. I'm guessing that maybe this is a volunteer or who knows, maybe they are even getting paid for it but my question is WHY continue to call the same people.? Why waste man-power ? I have come to the conclusion that 817-273-5501 Clothing Pick Up is so poorly handled they need somebody to update their files throw out the telephone lists and begin again. So if they want to waste time I will play their game. The next time they call I will pick up the phone and just walk away and they can just stay on the line until they get tired of it. It's like being stalked.

When you donate clothing,books, etc. you think you are doing a good thing but it isn't worth it because these people call all the time. I've put them on block and it doesn't seem to work. I have told them to take me off this list and it doesn't mean anything This group while pretending to do good work are harassing people in Fort Worth hiding behind clothing pickup donations. They call every couple of days and sometimes every day and it's always twice a day.  If I had to do it over again I never would have donated anything. I would have taken it to the goodwill and been done with it. It's upsetting and unsettling as it just doesn't stop. On my display it says Clothing Pickup and today it just had the number 817-273-5501. This number is used for various donations  .

We get several calls each week & have been for months from this number. I bought a telephone answering system ( Panasonic 6.0 with 5 remotes. Costs around $119.) It has a feature where you can block 25 numbers & change them out as you please. I always leave this one blocked. When they call it rings one time & they get a quick busy signal. If it was a real person calling they would take me off the list. It appears to be a computer calling & I with the previous response I think they are just mining for prospects where they can document it is a good number.

They may be required by law to comply, but they ignore that law. I get 2 to 20 calls from this number daily, and they won't stop. Since they claim to be a charity, (I'm not sure if they really are), there isn't much you can do about them.

Please don't call me again. I don't  have anything to donate.

I have donated to them and they are legit.  They provide a tax receipt and have been donating for years plus  I have used the tax receipt to write off my donations and never had a problem.

This is a charity they can call any one. The Do Not Call List does not compile to these organization.  This is a blog for people to give info on these numbers.  You are wasting your time by post here to be removed.. You should read up on the laws before you post.  Per the Do Not Call Registry here is who can call.

The National Do Not Call Registry does not limit calls by political organizations, charities, or telephone surveyors.

Telling them to remove you on this forum is a waste of time this is not a web-site they visit all you need to do is tell them to take you off the list..

No it doesn't this is just a blog to complain to no one.

They call my number all the time.  I wish we could get them stopped.  Today tehy have called my number twice.  I don't beleive they are just Clothing Pickup or a charity.  I beleive they are trying to see if the caller picks up.

Whether this caller is legitimate or not, I consider them to be at least in the nuisance category. I never answer calls from this number & never donated anything to this "organization", but they still keep calling like so many of these predators - multiple calls a day and never leave a message.

This message board is for sharing information.  By reading here you learn what others have learned about this number.  For 817-273-5501 I know know it is used by a couple of charities to call for donations of clothing or similar.  If you donate those charities call again and again. That information may be useful for me to decide if I want to give them anything.  

I check all calls from unknown numbers here.  I decide wether or not to call back based on what learn here.

Does filing a complaint here about 817-273-5501 actually accomplish anything?

I too received a call from this number.  They asked for Ms. X which was my maiden name.  I told them no one lived here with that name.  they said ok and hung up.  I have been married over 30 years and don't have a clue how they associated my number with my maiden name.  I am tired of it and wish we could stop all solicitation calls.

I have never donated clothing to these people, but they continue to call my number, sometimes several times a day.  They are positively obnoxious, are tying up my phone line (that I pay for), and I never will donate anything to them.

I had this number blocked for months, took it off over the weekend and just got a call from it again.... forwarding to another number.

...the actual Leukemia & Lymphoma Society website http://www.lls.org/ gives you the option to find your local chapter and when I entered that zip code it only indicated a N. TX Chapter in DALLAS. NOT Arlington. Plus, the REAL charity uses the "&" symbol, NOT a hyphen.
In addition, the website offers various ways to donate - none of which include this "donation center". So I'm going to conclude that these are phishers hiding under the charity umbrella. Just like the "Paralyzed Veterans of America" scam. DON'T give them anything or else you'll never get rid of them!! I'm going to begin answering their calls. With my ear-splitting hockey whistle.

Do Not call me anymore I am on the national do not call list and everytime your computer calls it doesn't hang up and causes my phone to make extremely irritating noises as if you didn't hang up. PLEASE STOP IT!

It is not right to harass someone who once donated clothes to your organization. LEAVE ME ALONE! again I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST. Please cease and desist in what is becoming harrassment. You have made me never ever want to donate to your organization again.
