Hangs up when answered. I called back, someone answered...lots of silence.
Not even a police association scam, more like flavor of the month. It has left messages in the past for 3 different charities, but not in 3 months. Now I reacon they're punishing us for not answering (like a spoiled brat.)

I have received several calls from this number over the past few days.  At times they only hang up, even when I answer.  They never leave a message when I don't.  Once, a guy was soliciting money for a Police Association.  When I told him I wasn't interested, he said "This isn't for the police officers, they get paid.  This is so that kids can go to camp..."  I told him again I wasn't interested but he just kept talking OVER me.  I kept trying to cut him off & tell him I was on the "do not call" list, but he just kept barrelling through his spiel, so I hung up.
Call the number back & it's constantly busy.

Got a call from this number, when I answered it, it was a fax trying to come in.  Good thing I don't have a fax machine on this line.

Hung up when I answered. When I tried calling back, no one answered the line.

no message left...called back that #..."...temporarily disconnected at customer's request"

Received a call from this number - no one was there when I answered. I tried calling it back and it said the number is temporarily disconnected at the customer's request.  If that is the case, then how were they able to call ME two seconds before?  Seems strange...and I am one more annoyed person along with the rest of you...

Man calls from this number asking if im the owner of the house....strange caller...very suspicious

Caller would not speak on phone---called back,line busy or mailbox is full.

Called, rock music in background, mumbles short message hangs up.a wacko obviously

WTF i just got a call from them. Ill tell you exactly what he said. He said "Hello?" then he hung up. I sat on the line for 30 seconds saying "Hello?" but no answer...

I received a call today from this number about 10:15 am. No one said anything, they just hung up.

Called today and hung up on answering machine without leaving message.  If I don't know the number I don't answer, and if they don't leave a message, to heck with 'em.

Be aware that there are a ton of really disreputable organizations claiming to do fund raising in the name of law enforcement.

Received several calls from this number.  I think it is a scam artist trying to steal i.d.!!!!  Calls and hangs up before answering machine picks up.  Perhaps Do Not Call will do something about these clowns.

Received a couple of calls from this number.  No message.  Checked on-line and found out that it is probably a solicitation.  No caller ID.

Have received over 8 calls over the last two days from this 817-294-8779 , some as late as 8:45 PM.
I do not answer calls that I do not recognize and they NEVER leave a voice message.  It is really an annoyance.

I have rec'd this call before. This time no one was on the phone. Only one time did someone answer which was in Feb. 2008 I talked to them and It is The Police Association in Arlington, TX. They are looking for Donations. That is why they do not have to follow the Do Not Call guidelines. Just don't answer the calls. Or use call block feature with you phone service, which is what I just did. I added them as a blocked number.  I will see if that will work. If not I will just not answer or I will and just hang up.

Get calls randomly for past 3 months.  Wasnt home when they called but the male vioce ID himself as "Jay from the State of Tx" but wouldnt talk to brother.  Never leaves a message on answering machine nor have I recieved mail from "Jay of the State of Tx".

this same number keeps calling me and its very annoying because they will not say anything and when you call the number back its always a busy signal.

Calls the house number at unusual hours and hangs up - the number is listed as being in Ft Worth - they pay no attention to the "do not call" listings (State or federal) - what can be done to stop them?

Calls and the hangs up.  Very irritating. Wish there was a way to fine them a large amount of money.

I am much to busy to take calls that can not be Identified. I feel if it is someone needing to speak with me, they would leave a message. No message was left.

they say that they are a fundraiser for the police department.  I'm in Ft. Hood texas why would I send money to Arlington?
