Missed a phone call from this number. When I tried to call it back, all I got was a busy signal.

Got a call from this person, asking for my neighbor by name, very strange. It seems like a credit company, wouldn't that be against the privacy act. I do not care what my neighbor owes, none of my business.

received a call asking for me by name. Then asked if I was still in contact with a person I had never heard of.
The caller I.D. shows as a Nuvell Financial. When I try to redial that number
I continually get a busy signal.

received a message from a guy named Kelly asking for me by name. Calling for a personal reference from someone I have never heard of. Gave a phone number to call back with an ext. 21019, did not leave a clear number but sounded like 888-523-1955. Called that number but message said that it was changed to a national directory assistance of 10-1515.

This company's name is Nuvell and their phone number is 800-350-3561. They are a Car finance company and their HQ is located in Little Rock, Arkansas. You can fill complaints with the FTC, BBB and your state to stop their calls. The FTC also told me to send them a registered letter. You have rights not to be called if it is not your debt.

Nuvell HQ has moved to Jacksonville, FL. They are a car finance company and their collectors do call people on "leads". That means they are looking at an address that was believed to be the residents or calling old numbers or trying to contact neighbors, relatives, anyone who could get a message to the person they are trying to find. They are calling because the person that owes them money is not paying for it.
Also, as long as the collector does not release personal information about their customer they have not broken any privacy law. I know this because I studied it in business classes.
Yes, people have rights, and you can send a letter to Nuvell requesting that they not contact you. If you are a person that owes money to any creditor, you are the reason they are calling, pay your bill and they will stop calling you or anyone else trying to find you.

I keep receiving calls for some deadbeat people that had my number over 7 years ago. They refuse to remove the number from their database. I will be reporting them for harassment.

Nuvell Finance, they will call hundreds of times untill they get a payment from you. And they threated you over the phone, saying the sheriff will be at your doorstep that night wanting either the vehicle or a payment.
