Let your employer know that somehow scammers have come across your personal information and are trying to extort money from you using illegal tactics.  Don't worry their threats are empty they can do nothing to you, other than harass  and irritate you.

 I went to 'Fake payday loan collection scams' and found some useful information from some of the posts.

They call my cell and make crazy threats about debtors prison. It's so crazy now they are calling my work which could get me in lots of trouble. These creeps need to be stopped. They threaten you and scream in broken English. This fool calls himself Dave Lawrence.

Yep! Same thing happened to me. Was told I would be arrested over a pay day loan that I never took out. These people are creeps and need to get real jobs and quit tryin to scam Americans out of our hard earned money. This number has to be reported.

Got a call from this number 817-400-0048, they left a very threatening VM, telling me that if I did not call back that all he could say was "he wishes me good luck"... So I called the number back immediately and was told there was a lawsuit against me, in his his office, regarding a pay day loan from October 2011, in the amount of $2000 something... Right then, I knew it was a scam or someone had stolen my identity bc I have never in my life taking out a pay day loan. And if I ever was so broke I needed too, then I sure as hell would pay it back. I said okay so where did I take this loan out at, is there a location? He said no, he has my IP address from when I applied for the loan and I had the money mailed to me. Hmm sounds real legit! BUT he couldn't give me the IP address nor his name. He told me if I didnt pay it that day that I will get a letter to report to court in the county that he specified I lived in, but like I told him, I havent lived at that address or in that county in two years... He kept attempting to get my new address. I was VERY scared as he did have my social correct :-(. So after I finally gave up arguing with this stupid Indian... I told him over that this is a SCAM and he can shove hisSs SCAM up his A$$!!! So he said "if you think this is a scam then all I can say is I wish u the best of luck and ai will see u soon" and then HUNG up me! Two hours later, a NY area code called and left a VM with American Legal Services, with a similar VM, but I never returned the call. This is ridiculously creepy and I just hope no one falls for their scam!

HERE WE GO AGAIN...THE CALLS STOPPED FOR A WHILE AND NOW THEY ARE STARTING AGAIN ON MY CELL PHONE AND THEN MY WORK NUMBER. THEY CLAIM TO BE A AMERICAN LEGAL SERVICES AND ARE TRYING TO GET MONEY FOR A PAYDAY LOAN. "SAM TAYLOR" (WHO HAS A VERY HEAVY INDIAN ACCENT) THREATENS THAT LEGAL INVESTIGATIVE OFFICERS WILL BE SENT TO MY HOME IF I DO NOT RESPOND.  CAN SOMEONE PLEASE STOP THEM!!!!!!!!!!

i had a debt pending on my name american law services helped me to resolve it thank you so much it is not a scam

Received a call from this SAM TAYLOR who claims he's from American Legal Services.  I had 'my attorney' call and SAM lost his accent; when told they were calling regarding a phone call received, 'my attorney' was told he had the wrong number; so 'the attorney' told him to quit calling my phone and the response received was "SHUT UP" in a raspy voice and then a hang up.

Pissed & a Bit confused!!!!

Just recieved a call from American Legal Services. Well their newest gig is "check fraud" from capital one. They requested my lawyers info and informed me that I will be arrested at my home in a few days. I will keep you posted.

THE ATTORNEY "SAM TAYLOR" (WITH A VERY HEAVY INDIAN ACCENT) THREATENS THAT LEGAL INVESTIGATIVE OFFICERS WILL BE SENT TO MY HOME IF I DO NOT RESPOND WITHIN 24 HOURS.

THIS COMPANY IS FRAUD THEY CLAIM TO BE A LAW FIRM IN WHICH IS PURSUING ME IN COURT FOR A PAYDAY LOAN IN WHICH I HAVE A PAYMENT ARRANGEMENT SET UP WITH THE PROPER COMPANY THIS COMPANY I AM SET UP WITH HAS PROVIDED ME WITH DOCUMENTATION PROVING WHAT I OWE THESE PEOPLE HAVE THREATEN ME OVER & OVER THAT IF I DO NOT SENT $400 TO INDIA BY THE CLOSE OF BUSINESS THAT I WILL BE ARRESTED FOR THE PAYDAY LOAN I WAS SO NERVOUS THAT I CALLED THE INITIAL COMPANY I SET UP PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS WITH & THEY INFORMED ME THAT THIS SAM TAYLOR IS A FRAUD HE USES SCARE TACTICS TO SCAM INNOCENT PEOPLE INTO SENDING MONEY TO HIS COUNTRY FOR HIS FAMILY IN INDIA THIS IS SO INSANE HOW MUCH INFORMATION THIS SAM TAYLOR HAD ON ME BUT I WAS INFORMED TO FILE A POLICE REPORT ON THIS NUMBER 817-400-0048 & I AM GOING TO FILE MY REPORT IMMEDIATELY

There is an ad right next to this that says "Recover $1000.00 for ABUSE"..it is a law office and they can't do anything to help...because this isn't a legitimate company that calls from 817-400-0048. So much for their help, don't waste your time calling them. They are of NO help what so ever. You'd be better off to hunt down the losers at that phone number and be sure that they never have another chance to use the phone again, if you know what I mean.

One of my employees is receiving calls at work from 1-817-400-0048. She has asked them to stop calling her at work or it will result in her termination. I tried to speak with them, but they hang up on me. I would like to proceed with a legal suit against them.

I received a call from this # from Atty Sam Taylor from American Legal Services.....they have all my personal info - they are trying to say they represent Cash Advance USA for a payday loan back in Jan 2012.....they are a scam-I googled it. They threaten to take legal action if you don't pay them....they are a fake payday loan collection agency
