Beware...They are back.I got a call from a so called Julian Marshal with Holland and Hart Associates.He stated that I owed money for a payday loan with USA cash advance.I have never heard of this company.He also had an indian accent.I also received an email from them stating the same thing and that I was facing criminal charges.This is a total scam.They also use these #'s 972-968-7819 and 409-761-7113.

This company Anderson Law Associates Los Angeles, CA has been calling harassing me about a so called payday loan I receive from "Cash Advance USA" that I have no knowledge about.  Some so called attorney "Julian Marshall" who supposedly works for the "United States Federal Legislation of Unsecured Loans" who might I add has a thick Indian accent and long with his assistant who also has a thick Indian accent.  He said that I was going to be charged with Breach of Trust, Fraud, and something else.  He said that he wasn't a debt collection agency, that he was only an attorney that was handling the case.  When I asked him the amount owed he said that (screaming) it was my fought and that I should have remembered what I borrowed!  Then I told him that I had paid for this had paid for this numerous amounts of time, (which I had) and that I wasn't doing it anymore.  He said although he wasn't a debt collector, but if he went and negotiated with Cash Advance USA, would I be willing to do something immediately b/c if not he would contact my employer and have me arrested on the property, would make sure that I lost my job, and go to jail. The whole time his phone was skipping in and out.  We were disconnected and I started searching the web, I found numerous amounts of complaints and found out they had been scamming people all over the United States.  He continued to call me several different times finally I answered and said that I had just retained an attorney and that he needed to contact them.  He became very upset and said that he would represent me, (mind you he's also representing Cash Advance USA) and that I didn't need an attorney.  He became angry and told me (with is thick Indian accent in broken English) "ok! Ok! You go jail now ok...ok. So bye bye...bye bye you get served papers in 15 mins and you go jail!"  These people prey on the innocent. I found out that the 951 area code is Texas not California, and that they're probably calling from outside of the US and that's the reason for the phone skipping in and out

I got a call from 214-446-5372 from a Anthony Hopkins with a serious accent, he then transferred me to a Mark Brown who told me he was a Senior Attorney. When I informed him that he was not to call and harass me, he told me I was a lying frauder and he would ruin my life. They then turned around and called my job and told me they would continue to call my job until I lost my job and would make my life "a living hell", and then proceeded to call me a "w***e" "bi***". I contacted my local police department to make a report. They are complete frauds.

I got a call regarding a payday loan that was late and needed to be paid from Frank Jefferson Law  from this number: 214 446-5372. The fake name was Mark Brown and said he represented Cash Corporation. He had a very strong accent, spoke very poor english and seemed suspicious immediately.

IF this has happened to you and you are worried whether or not this is real Do The Following:
Get as much info from them as possible i.e.
-Full name of law firm
-Phone number
-Full address
-Get the lawyers Bar Registration Number
-Get the state he or she got the Bar
-loan amount
-loan date (they probably wont give it to you)

Tell them you don't believe this is real and that you will check with the bar association records and contact the state attorneys office to see if they are fraudulent. After I said that they didn't know what to say so I hung up. A day later I called them back and the number didn't work anymore. IF you want you can contact both the bar associations from the state they got their bar and contact the state attorney's office FYI. However I am guessing since this is fake they are calling internationally and making their number look like it is from the US.

Side Note.....Don't give out information to random sites online (especially your SS#) - that is how they got your information. IF you need a payday loan don't get one online. Get one from a physical place. Lastly if you want you can go to Annualcreditreport.com or a credit reporting company to make sure this hasn't affected your credit. (I hope people don't think I work for a credit reporting company now.......Damn Frauders <== thats not a word. lol) But this something you should do only if you want but definitely check your bank accounts and make sure nothing is missing or messed up.

If you ever been in a tight spot financially and had a payday advance loan, what more than likely happened was some unscrupulous employee of that company probably sold your info to one of these Scam FAKE DEBT collection companies, who then call up folks who've used those type companies and try to convience you that you somehow owe money to them. It's ALL a TOTAL SCAM.  Ironically even though “817” is a Texas area code, they are not actually located in Texas. That’s another SCAM, they are actually calling from outside the United States, more than likely from some Call Bank Center somewhere in India. They are using a phone technology called Voice Over IP or VoIP.  In short that technology allows someone to select an area code of their choice to attach to their phone number.  Again a total SCAM.

i am recieving the same kind of calls now under frank jefferson attorney at law they are calling from 2066299396 saying i took out a loan with cash advance usa, which i have not, and they cant seem to give me any info to prove the facts.  they are calling my friend and family saying i did not pay back a loan i never got and threatening that i may lose my job once they start talling to my enployer.   scam

I received this same call from Frank Jefferson with the same exact pitch.  I hung up on them then they called back wanting my supervisor.  I hung up again.  My calls came in as no called id but they were supposedly representing USA cash advance and Morgan and Associates. BEWARE and they are rude.

everything everone is saying is what I went through with these bums know your rights don't let them scare you call your local police department and find out what you can do or home land security

I received a call on my cell phone this morning from this number 817-400-5493. I didnt answer because it was not a number I recognized, but whomever called from this number left a message for me call Nick Robinson and do not disregard this call and they could only pray for me and god bless. I was thinking this was a scam, so I didn't them back. I'm at work and my phone ring and a person with a forgein accent asked to speak with me. They stated they was calling me due to a legal matter. I asked them kind of legal matter. They stated to me very rudely not to interupt them because we was being recorded in front of a judge and stated i was being charged with not paying a pay day loan and also check fraud and asked me how I was going to pay  for the $224.00 I havent paid. First of all, I dont have any pay loans and second, why in the hell would I give you my account infor over the phone. This is a spam because if there were any legal matter that has taken place on anyone the local sheiff will serve you papers and also NO LEGAL ATTORNEY OFFICE is going to ask you for your cell number to they can find your account to see what your name is. They will ask for other information in regards of identifying yourself. SCAM SCAM!!!! There people are very aggrestive. I got in argument with one and they hung up the phone. They will threaten you by saying you will be going to jail if you dont pay and they may have some of your personal information such as email, the contact you may have put down when you try to for loan or even your social, so dont let them fool you. Dont give out any information!!!!!! I will be also posting this message for this phone number too that I forgot to mention.This number 409-356-6521 is also a scam from the same people!!!!!!

I received a call from them after too. The guy stated that he was "Officer Nathan Brooks" with the accent from another country and he could barely speak English. He told me there was a lawsuit against my SSN. I told him that if that were true then I would have been legally served by a sheriff in my city. After a long pause he wanted more of my information. So I just hung up. TOTAL FRAUD!!!!! Pretty sure its against the law in ALL states to state that your an officer when your not..

Thank you all for posting this. Received the same kind of call today, they left messages on both our home phone and cell phone, and I was completely freaking out. The only reason I researched it was because he didn't once state what this so called debt was for and he stated that they had tried to call before and we didn't return the call, which they had NOT called before and also at the end he stated that if we didn't return the call immediately that we would be in HUGE trouble.....just didn't sound like something a legitimate debt collector would say. So again....THANK YOU all for getting this information out there, because I am sure we would have paid something we didn't even owe!

omg! thank godness for internet i to received the same speel an freaked out. they where going to take me to court in my town and charge me with numerious charges and as well as my references!   they wanted me to pay back money i never received and plus today. i told them i didnt have any money today to give me a few weeks and like the other callers reported he said he had to speak with his superior and  he even said his attorney at one point. i was very worried about this matter so i did some investigating and  after a few clicks found that its all just a scam. so thank you other callers and to others dont even answer save yourself the  time.

I received a call today from this number. A woman called my cell first and then turned around calling my desk! When I answered, she said that her name was Mrs. Robertson and kept repeating the last 4 of the SSN. I asked who she was and she kept saying Mrs. Robertson (as she also left in the voicemail on my cell phone). She said that she was calling from a "State & Investigation Department" in the message. When I answered from my desk, she was on the line and said that she had to transfer me to an attorney. When he came on the line, he kept saying some obviously rehearsed speech about me owing a payday loan and that he was surprised I had not heard about the allegations being brought against me. Also, he said that it was being taken to superior court for several federal charges and something about collateral. Totally RIDICULOUS! I asked him for his name and he said that it was Frank Jefferson and he was an attorney. I said maybe your company should try contacting the person you are looking for in writing before you call to someone's job and I hung up. Funny thing is I took a moment to look up the name of the firm that they claimed to be from and found NOTHING! So glad that I'm not one of the ones who actually fell for this stupidity! BEWARE!

I received this call today and yesterday (12/14/2010). I called back because a message was left stating that there were criminal allegations place on my social security number which he stated my last 4 digit. the caller name was albert walker . when I called back he put me in touched with Frank Jefferson. Frank Jefferson went on to state the same speel about how I had a payday loan from cashadvance usa that I didn't pay back. he stated that several attempts were made on bank account which was returned. I did state that I have payday loans(not with cash advance usa) but they were paid and I was not aware of any return unpaid loans. He constantly repeated to me that the call was being recorded for the purposes of being able to use in court against me. He made mention of attorney and if had one and would like to continue the case in court. I stated to him I didn't have an attorney because I was not aware of a case against and not aware of being in default of a loan. He was reading from a prepared paper because everytime interupted with questions he would tell me not to interupt and he would answer my question once he was finished. He also stated that he would have to refer to their attorney Julian Marshall which was a higher authority. He and the so called atty. ask me if I were ever arrested or had a lawsuit against me. He told me that he could not make any decision but would really like to help me becuse I seem like a good person and have good credit becuase they ran background and credit checks on me. He would talk to mr. marshall for me becuse mr. marshall was a higher authority. then he comes back and said Mr. marsall would like to speak with me so I could convince him I want to resolve this out of court. I was really scare because I thought someone had stolen my info(which they did)and was doing illegal activities against me. Because they threaten to report information to my employment, I almost paid this clown. then something hit me when he tried to make me pay him (579.63)with a debit or credit card in 45 minutes and write a letter of apology and intent through faxing it to this number 808-442-0009. This is called OOCR-(out of court retribution). I think God alert during ending of conversation because I started asking many questions that he would keep interupting me. I ask him what law firm and address was his attorney Julian Marshall from and he gave me this information Morgan Law Associates, 19623 Lake Hollow lane, Houston, Texas 77084. After hanging up with this clown, he called me back threaten me that i better call back by monday because they were leaving the office for the day. I forgot to mention earlier the number that these scammers called from (817)400-5493 Grapevine, Texas and (817)710-4545 Fort Worth, Texas located in Tarrant County. I plan to contact the state atty general they must be stopped and I will notify as many people of this scam.
