Here they go again! Thought this number was ancient history, apparently not they are calling again and I have their number now on a "no ring" on my cell so they dont bother me. :)

This number is GM Financial, d/b/a Americredit.  Never give out your social security number.  By the way, it is against Federal regulations to use a social security number as identification.

Anyway, Americredit is the "collector" for GM Financial.

AMERICREDIT, LONG BEACH ACCEPTANCE CORPORATION, GM FINANCIAL...I have no account with any of those names. Just lost my job to anyway.
They left a medium length, inarticulate voice mail with lots of numbers. I could only make out about every other number though.
So if I call them back I won't have the extension or reference number or...they'll ask me a bunch of personal I.D. questions: information I'm not going to answer over the phone...
Straight to voice mail for this number in the future I guess?

Phone rang 22 times.I do not answer calls that I do not recognize the number.Then they called my cell.I rejected the call.I have nothing to do with this company.

Its Americredit financial. They are really annoying and rude, they also like to call work and threaten you.

How to stop unwanted calls.

Left a garbled message - I could vaguely hear something about a reference and a long #, then they left an 800 # with a long extension. After reading the other messages, I will forget about it. Much thanks!

Americredit is a scam. Don't waste your time on them. Don't give them any personal info.

Is Americredit. As to different reasons for calls above, its your own discretion, but is them. Have account with them and they call my cell from this number. I too will not give out SSN to anyone on phone regardless of reason. Just not something one should do.

They called and left a message for me to call 877-598-9292 x 52512, they left a reference number and said it was about a possible reference for Marilyn Maso, who I do not know.

I read the post by the first person at the top of this page, and
they said they gave our their SSN's????? Are you crazy?? Don't ever
do that for a person calling you. It could in reality be a scammer
getting info on you. Don't ever do that, no matter what, unless you
know for sure who the people are, that are calling you. No wonder
there is so much scam and theft going on in this country. Just a
word of advice !!

AmericaCredit called me on my cell phone for a reference for my mother. I will never call these numbers back when my caller ID saids:TX 817-524-3012. This isn't the first time receiving a number like this and I just ignore it and everyone else should too. Do not answer a call that has the state then the number. Never!

The company called me to find out if a neighbor was still living in the hosue a couple of doors down.  The person on the phone claimed to be trying to reach them, but the number had been disconnected.  Didn't give out any information, but the whole exchange seemed sketchy.

Caller ID says Americredit; however, it is Long Beach Acceptance Corporation.  Americredit must have bought them out.  They are generally nice people to work with, but if a car payment is a little late, they call home, work and cell phone which is not cool, nor necessary.

What happened with this?  A friend of mine did the same thing.

This number just called and left a number to call them back. I did. They wanted to know my name, address, and number to locate and verify I was who I said I was before they could go forward. I hung up. Though their purpose is unknown, I don't think it's worth anyone's time nor expense to return the call like I did.

Called a few times, even on my cell which was never given out to them. Americredit, keep saying that I was listed as a reference for my sister.. But it's not true.

This is Americredit.  They just called me for a reference for a friend.

Several calls.  Finally called back.  Claimed to be AmeriCredit, but we don't have an account with them.  Hope they're not fake, because we gave them our SSNs to find out why they might have been calling.
