I was looking for affordable health insurance, as I am attending college getting ready to enter nursing school, and one of the requirements is the need to carry health insurance while attending school. I followed up a lead, leaving some limited information about myself with what I felt might be a legitimate source. I did this over the Internet, and when things began to appear they were getting shady, I closed out the web site without pursuing it any further, as most nursing schools usually do provide legitimate sources for cheap healthcare coverage. Anyway, I did get a response from a woman identifying herself as Michele, who left a message on my answering machine claiming to have affordable health insurance I could obtain. She left an 800 number (1-800-779-8668)to call her back with information regarding this full coverage,which included cheap co-pays on generic and name brand prescriptions, hospitalization, dental coverage, the works, basically, for a very cheap price. Incidentally, the actual number which showed up on my caller ID for this "company" was a number from the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas area (817-598-0848). Suspicious of this call, I decided to do a little research, and found it was a big rip off scam. There were numerous complaints about calls from both the 800 number and the 817 number. When I investigated the 817 number further, turns out it was a local number for a place called the White Oak Valley Ranch in Weatherford, Texas. Seems this place deals with breeding horses, so it says. I suggest being very careful if you get any calls from anyone soliciting anything from either of these numbers. It appears they are nothing but con artists trying to hustle you out of your money.
