He hung up and called back, and on a much clearer line he started his blah blah blah again and I told him I don't own a computer so he said someone in the house might be using a computer, I said we only have cable and a land line and he hung up lol I love BS Scammer don't you

Caller ID just said "out of area" the area code showed it was central Texas. We don't know anybody in Texas, so it went unanswered

I keep getting calls from this number. No msgs left. I looked it up out of curiosity. The do not call list is bs. I still get calls weekly if not more.

A scam -- people with Asian accents claiming to be from Windows. Pay no attention.

Got a call from an Indian guy insisting my computer was being hacked. He got upset when I would not turn my computer on and my husband demanded his name as he claimed to be from Microsoft. Scam! He wanted to hack my computer.

Reviewed my caller id yesteday and saw that I had two missed calls from this number from Arlington, TX. Then received a call around 7:30 p.m. last night stating that they were from Microsoft. I told them I wasn't interested and hung up. Last night or early this morning at 2:30 a.m. received another call from the same number which I didn't answer. You only think the worse when someone calls you at that hour!! Really??

Im from the UK and i Just went to the shop and when I return I had a missed call from this number. My phone recognises this as a number from Arlington, Texas. Glad I googled the number instead of ringing them back!

A gentleman, with a foreign accent, called my mobile phone around 11:48 a.m. (CST) today and asked to speak with the owner of my computer. He said my computer was sending out error messages to Windows when I go onto the internet and I needed to go in and remove all of the information that was spreading a virus on my computer. First of all, I couldn't understand why he was calling my mobile number when it isn't connected to my account. I asked where he was calling from and he said he was calling from California. I looked at the number on the caller ID and it showed a local number. I then asked for his name and a main number to Windows that I could call back. He first said his name was Edward Stevens, then when asked to repeat it, he switched it to Steven Edwards. The number to Windows that I was given was 120-128-520-11. I repeated it back to him and he said, "That's correct." Come on now! That's too many numbers! I kept asking questions and he said I didn't need to dial an area code, but just dial that number. I gave no information and ended the call. I am so glad to be able to research information of this nature. Although I suspected it to be a SCAM, this confirmed my thoughts.

HA-HA! Nice to see that I am not alone. Well I live in Europe and a number from Austin TX calls me today. From what I got of his english was the feeling that the guy was Irish ... well now I see, maybe he could have been Indian ... whatever. Told me he wanted me to take a pen and paper to write something down ... WTF?! So I said to him I was busy for at least 2 hours at which point he replied that he will call me back later ... well, he can try :)

These guys called me serveral times, claiming to be from Microsoft "to fix a problem with your computer", As I am not in the US I asked them why Microsoft would make an international call when they have a local office. The guy was speaking with the most terrible P*** accent so he was hardly understandable at all. Did have some fun in dragging out the international call. Finally he gave up. You wonder how extremely stupid those guys are to think that this sort of SCAM could work!!

I received a call from this number, from a lady with an accent, claiming to be with some government grant
program. I didn't get any more information from her, as my husband butted in and hung up on her.

I assume the call I just got is from the same idiots who called "Unknown" on the 20th since I get these calls almost every single day (first time from this number, which shows up as "Texas" on call display but of course it isn't). If "Unknown" is reading this, I would advise against interacting with these scam artists. I attempted this and the guy ended up phoning me back directly and screaming at me on the phone. For personal safety this actually prompted me to remove my name from my voicemail because I didn't want them to potentially access it (remember these guys use a random dialer or a list of "live" numbers compiled by those "no one at the other end" calls people get all the time). Attempts to reason with them are fruitless. Just remember Microsoft will never contact you for any reason unless you request it specifically.

I received a call from this number today Aug.20 2012... East Indian informed me that they are receiving information that my computer is infected with malicious virus. I am understand the computer well as I am A+ certified, but I let the fellow on the line continue with his story. He walked me through various steps to show me the errors that they are receiving and provided me information along the way why I was getting these errors. I let on to him that this sounds bad and what it is he thinks I should do to get rid of these errors and remove the virus. He then had me go to this site www.ammyy.com and wanted me to download. It was at this point I went no further. I asked the fellow why he wanted me to download this software, in which he replied that a senior technical advisor will hook up to my computer and stop the vicious virus. I then asked him why they couldn't do this over the phone. He told me that they couldn't walk me through those steps. I then asked him where he was calling me from and he told me New Jersey, NY. I played dumb and asked how can you hook up from there to my computer. He got very frustrated at this point and asked me to hold so that he could get the senior tech to help me. Another fellow came on the line and started explaining the same "bull" to me about all the problems my computer have. So I asked him how he got my information and how my computer was telling him that I have a virus. He informed me that when I bought the computer the software that it comes with has a registration number and that number is what comes up in his data base... He made the mistake of asking me if I wanted to know that product ID is as I had already pulled it up on my laptop... I said sure and he had the right amount of numbers and letters but I am sorry I didn't write the numbers he told me down as he was probably telling me the numbers from his own computer. I kept it cool anyway and told him that they didn't match... and he asked me at that point if I knew where to find them. I asked him if he was associated with the company ammyy.com and his reply was no that he was with the software company that provides windows. I asked him at that point why he would use a generic remote desktop site rather than microsoft which is the provider of windows. He was onto me at that point and I told him to stop calling me as this is not the first time I receive a call like this from the same number, at which point he told me that he was going to call me everyday!!!!
Do NOT ever give your permission for someone to access your computer unless you called the support desk yourself or you know the person accessing personally!!!
Looking forward to them calling me everyday... I will hold up their lines as long as I can ... they will slip up im sure.. just a matter of time. I hope that they are brought to justice and pay for everyone that they rip off.
