Same has happened to me, it's a scam. Hang up and don't give any information - Microsoft would not call individuals and if they did they'd be polite, have clear information about any problem and provide a number you can call them on/check.

I just receive a call from "Jerk" no speak english, claiming his from Microsoft my computer sending messages and all this B.S. dah his calling DOH in Hawaii, we have I own IT! Scammers (calling from India)

These jerks called me. This is a total scam. I kept them on the phone for 15 minutes messing with them.

I work in the IT industry. Please believe that they are up to no good.

they say they are calling from tampa florida, but the CID comes up as Arlington TX



BEWARE!!!!! they are scammers attempting to trick you into installing malware so they backdoor in.
They will start by telling you to open your inf folder, and explain that these are infected files because the folder is named INF.

DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!!!!!
if you do any kind of banking or anything on your computer (who doesn't right?) they will get your information if you install their software.

I got a call from this # with a message saying my Master Card Account had been shut down and to reopen it push 2. I hung up. I don't even have a Master Card.

Just called, man with a thick middle eastern accent, from Microsoft ....  asked for me by my first name...I said "she is out, I am the babysitter"  he said "ok, love you babysitter" and hung up...

You will find this phone number listed as a contact for Paul Syzmanski to bid on a multi-million dollar contract for security services.  The jobs are in Wisconsin and Minnesota,  but the phone is out of Arlington, TX.  The whole thing smells fishy !!!  

I just received a call from this number.  It was a woman saying they'd received notification I was having trouble with Microsoft.  I told her I was on the Missouri no call list and she ignored it.  I told her again I was on the no call list and hung up.

Some b*****d scamed me using this number n in huge amount .if i find out he wil b very sorry 4 his deeds.it was my hard earned money

Very strange - got a call from a different number asking me about my Vodafone account (I don't have one...) and then within 20 seconds of hanging up this number called.  Afraid I told him I don't take cold calls and hung up so no idea who it was!  Suspect both were scams.

I don't like the fact I was called on my mobile all the way in the uk from unknown person in texas don't do it agin as I am rather upset about it

Just got a call from this number, some crappy english talking probably indan guy. Very noisy background he mumbled something about microsoft. Then i hang up, because it was to weird.

We usually don't answer these obvious scam calls. Hubby answered one time and it was the 'virus on your computer' scam. We are in Canada. Our call display says this number is from Texas. We have also received calls from California #707-822-9870, Illinois #618-465-8138, Nevada #702-462-9154, Ontario #289-210-0070, Quebec  #450-924-0424 & International Call # 687896 & #310-8682. I wish there was a way to charge these Jerks.

I recieved a call from this number today, caller hung up when I answered so I dialled the number to be told by an operator that the number was unavailable!

a guy called asked for me personally then hung up.  He called my work number!

they barely speak english and say they are from windows support and want access to my PC;  also demand money or my license will be cancelled

Got a call from this number though I currently live in Sweden my number is Norwegian since I work there so why on earth would they call Scandinavia from Texas, they cancelled the minute I answered though, so could be phone hackers of some kind.

Rec'd a call at 12 28 early morning!  what the??  apparently these guys also called while we had a babysitter.  I guess they called again.

Someone called, speaking english with an accent.  Said he was from Microsoft and that there was a problem with my computer.  He asked that I turn on my computer, then I hung up.

Received a call claiming to be from Microsoft, saying my computer would crash at anytime - not due to virus or such. I simply said I was busy & couldn't deal with it at the time

We get these calls about eight in the last two days and when we answer we get a long pause and then someone says goodbye and hangs up. How do we stop this from happening.

Live in Canada and received a call from this number, about 2pm EST.  Once I picked up the line and stated the customary "Hello" three times with no reply, I go into my usual "must be an autodialer" and hung up.  Checked the number as it was un familiar to me and came across this blog.  Nice to see that the word gets around on these scams.

I just got a call from this number as well, claiming to be from microsoft....saying that my computer is sending error messages whenever I go online...asked if I had mad any changes to my computer recently....Couldn't understand him, clearly calling from India, lots of background noise. When I asked again who he was calling from he repeated his prior speech..but this time was raising his voice...so I just hung up on him

Ditto. Thick Indian accent claiming he was from Microsoft and my computer was sending him messages. Phishing for info. Played with him for a bit then hung up and called the grandparents to warn them not to fall for it, but grandma already read about their scam in consumer reports, lol. The jerks.

My husband could barely understand what it was about because the accent was so strong....My husband is in the computer business...Said that what there were saying made no sense....

Just got off the phone with these nice folks.  The heavily accented gent claimed to be from Windows Vista SomethingSomething (accent made him hard to understand) and claimed my computer was sending signals to their site and went on in a spiel regarding spyware.  I asked him a few questions which drove him to silence;  he hung up.  They also use a 1-888 number, that cannot be reached.  odd.

Had a long arguement with a guy claiming to be from California who could barely speak English.  Tonight, two calls on my call display.  Somebody get rid of them they've been at this for over a year!

Have received several calls from them claiming to be from Windows Microsoft but hung up on me when I told them I didn't have a computer & have already notified the police regarding their scam.  Have not heard back from them in awhile.

I got a call from this number and when I called back, I heard the number is not a working number. Strange!!

just received a call as well..however I.m from Canada. The weird thing was I answered and person just hung up. Phone rang once more and a kid's voice answered and said 'sorry I must have the wrong number'.........Until I further investigated and was linked onto this blog.. Wasn't even aware that it was a phone scammer!!
