They just called me for my mother saying that they are investigating fraud checks from her. The only thing I wonder is how they got her name because the name that they used was her maiden name and was also the name she used for just ONE company. Never used that name for anything else. I wonder if this company is the one selling the information? Or else, how else could they have gotten it? Also, his name was "Marcus James" Even me, a 16 year old can decipher a fake call from a real one. He tried to hard to get that "new york investigator" accent/feel. Wasting his time.
They even gave me the case # and everything. He gave me the number 818-237-3746

Just received call from "Marcus James", an investigator from William, Scott and Assoc, claiming
someone was attempting to deposit a check into "My" account. Gave case numbers, etc.

I was contacted by this company taking about fraud checks i wrote to wells fargo...ive never banked at wells fargo or wrote a check to them for that matter.The company wouldnt give me any information abot themselves so I say its SPAM!!! Be careful people

These people just called my grandmother yesterday, telling her that I'd been writing fradualent checks and that I was going to jail. I've never heard of them, and I've never wrote a check, ever. I'm sort of apprehensive about calling them back. Have you heard anything from them since?!

They said I had to call them back or they would issue a warrant for my arrest.  My MOM don't know who they are?  The callers name is Investigator SUSAN WILLIAMS  with the Federal Government Task Force Division - Depositor Fraud.  Is this a legit company?

MY MOM   JUST GOT A CALL FROM THESE  RUDE  PEOPLE  SAYING  IF SHE DONT PAY  OVER 2,000.00  DOLLARS BY TODAY THEY WAS GOING TO  PICK HER UP AND TAKE HER TO JAIL . THIS  IS SO  RUDE OF PEOPLE DOING THIS  TO A  52 YEAR  OLD LADY .

They called from this number and the person i spoke to identified himself as a federal agent and bullied me into a payment plan i can't afford....what i can't understand is if it really is the federal government....why not just garnish my half my paychecks every 2 weeks?

recieved same call from william scott & a**.claming i owed ace $1200. for a loan and if i didnt pay them $1000. by 3 o'clock they would issue a warrant for my husbands arrest and he would spend 10months in jail lol, and they would pick him up on the 15 th...(817)6650039. just wondering why this $1200 debt is showing up on my credit report????

So for those of you who paid it, was it legit? I see both good and bad regardign them and now I am worried.

This law firm contacted me last week. Yea, I was apprehensive, real talk I thought there was no way to find me regarding this debt. Those investigators are doing their jobs. All I can say is "if you do the crime, pay your fine."

I was contacted at work and was very upset after hearing the message that was left on my voicemail. Apprehensive about returning the call, I was relieved when the representative was very helpful, while assisting me to get this resolved. My oversight was due to relocation and missing mail. I received a HUGE discount and was able to resolve this matter without any further headaches.

They are calling you because they can.  They bought or stole your personal information and are using it to steal from you.  They hope you are dumb enough to fall for it.

Agreed.  If you Google the firm's name, you definitely can't find an information pertaining to their services...only to their collection practices.  Naturally, if you did owe a debt, you'll have to pay it. But NEVER give them your bank account numbers. Have them send information about the debt and offer to make payment arrangements within your means, not theirs. Then pay by money order or cashier's check.
