A man named Tim Patterson called my number looking for my sister.  He told me we were being recorded. He wouldn't provide a call back number for me to provide to her.  I tried to call the number back and the recorded message says this is from "United Recovery Systems" but you have to have a PIN to get through to the next step. Sounds like a group that purchases old debts that may or may not be legitimate claims and then try to threaten you into paying them or giving information about people you know.

If you  have a smart phone, just get an app and block the call.  My app hangs up on them without ringing and interruption.  This note has been paid in full and they still harass.  I have absolutely no respect or obligation to them.  Yeah, I like how they try to use a local number.  Not falling for that.  I go right to the PC and look up the number, see the complaints and enter the number to my call blocker.  They can't get around it.  I love it.  The jerks.
With the invention of smart phones, these morons haven't figured out how to get around with all the apps/black market apps, there are out there that can hang up on them without even bothering you.

I don't owe any money. I don't know why a debt collector would be calling me. :-(

A short brain man, called asking for somebody that I am not related to him since 2006.............lied to me saying he was calling from Houston (?), for sure didn't get any imformation from me.
Is really easy to get "anyone's " phone number from the past and say: I did a good researching!!!

The call is for my terminally ill husband...they can not disclose information to me. I brought my husband home from the hospital in January with only 2 months given to live but with proper care is still with me. They just need to stop the daily 3 4 5 times a day calling. I am not going to put him on the phone since he is detained to his bedroom. Home Health Care has even taken the call and told them his condition.

Got a call from this number. Belongs to "UNITED COLLECT BUR INC". Debt collector. United Collection bought my note from CHASE Bank.
