Game stop, pre-order, woot

Got this call at random on my cell phone number. Don't know who it was, and nobody picks up when I call it back. Really annoying

my order of battletoads finally got in!

These guys called.. I quickly flash/hung up on them thinking it was another telemarker (hey Gamestop... how about springing for some CALLER ID?? instead of 'unknown'?)

Good thing this site was here, else my son would never of known about his prepay showing up (and what is this with Pre-pays? AS IF they are actually going to run out of any of their idiotic titles.. )

I got a call from this number of March 14. I though it was Gamestop calling to me tell me a won something from the God of War Envy of the Gods Sweepstakes. I didn't pick it up and didn't find out about this call until now. I glad to hear from the other messages that this was their preorder reminder system cuz I would be really upset if it was about the contest. Also they only called once and should have called three times if it was about the sweepstakes.

It's gamestop's automated service. they notify you via cell with prerecorded messages about anything concerning a game you have reserved. In,Later/Early release, etc.  If you claim to never have been in the store, or are receiving this call in error, it is probably due to a miss-keyed phone number in the system. This happens all the time, who HASN'T made a typo. If this is the case, you can contact their customer service to remove your number from the system....because as it stands, unless the error is corrected, you will continually receive the calls each time the REAL recipient preorders/reserves a game and it is nearing the release date.  No sense in complaining if you aren't going to do something to try to fix it yourself.

Well someone gave them your number when they preordered. You can either not pick up( since by now you should know who it is...check the last 20 posts).
Or change your number. Either way..GET OVER IT!

Just to confirm, it is gamestop, but I have no business with them and am trying to figure out how they got my number!

It's an automated system so if you heard nothing when you first picked up, it's because the notification hadn't kicked in yet.

GameStop's reservation notification system is somewhat buggy and inconsistent at times though; most of the time when you reserve something it'll call you 24 hours before your order is available as a reminder and then every now and again it completely forgets to call you.

yea its gamestop. at first i didnt pick it up. then i listen to the voicemail and sure enough it was them. i pre-ordered a game n they reminded me to come pick it up.

Like all the posts said before.  This number is from GameStop.  It means you pre ordered something and it is coming in.  My guess is that you pre ordered World of Warcraft Linch King.

I've never ordered anything from Gamestop.  Never even been to the place.  How do I make the calls to my cell phone STOP???

They also call from that number to announce release date delays.  I just got a call saying littlebigplanet release is delayed because the game has Qu'ran audio in it, hah!  So it's not "always" to let you know your pre-order is in.

Gamestop pre-order notification? I pre-ordered Fable 2 and its not out til the 21st...thats still 18 days away almost 3 weeks early wtf?

Gamestop called to let me know a game I ordered would be availible for pickup on Sunday. Good thing they called I pre-ordered it back in January and forgot about it.

Found out that this number is for Gamestop when a game you've pre-ordered is there. Ignore above.

It's a call from Game stop telling us my son's game is ready after midnight. You must of signed up somewhere down the line to get these messages from them. You can remove yourself after u listen to the message. It should have option to remove yourself, If not call them and remove yourself.

Robocall about some stupid game available at midnight...GMAFB.  Called me at work, left message.  Unsolicited!

Got a call from this number and didn't pick up. Didn't know who it was, so let it go to voicemail. Turned out it was some kind sales pitch for a game. Heard a few words and just hung up. I'm on the DO NOT CALL LIST, so I don't know how they got my number.

CALL FROM THIS NUMBER BUT COULD NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY WERE SAYING BECAUSE IT WAS ALL IN SPANISH.  I DID NOT ORDER ANY TYPE OF GAME!

I got a call in a bad reception area i.e. my mom's basement and it was a woman and I was confused because I don't know any women other than my sister and mom,but it was GS telling me that they got my preorder YAY!!!
