got a call about free gas and wanted to charge my card $1.00 this happened after I made a purchase of a realestate course via mail.....this call is a scam 1-817-764-2864...How do I stop this con job ?????????

I've been getting calls from this number for the past few days.  They never leave a message and given that my phone is so new and only 5 people (family members) have my number so far-- I knew it was a company, not someone I know.  I've never given this number out for any orders, forms, etc. so I have no idea how they even got it. The number is for a mobile at&t phone. Anyone know the proper procedure to file complaints?  Has anyone initiated calling the number to ask them to stop-- what happens?

Received a call this morning about 9:20am from this number.  The first thing she informed was the last 4 digits of my bank visa check card...then went on to say "nothing is wrong with your card, but you have been selected to receive a $50 gas card"...I cut her and said that I have asked her company as well as the others to remove me from their list for this BOGUS scam.  She started to inform me that this was NOT a bogus program...she wouldnt stop talking so I rudely said to her "SHUT UP and listen to me!  Remove me from your list immediately!!"  But, before I finished with the shut up part...she had already hung up.  Interesting.

How do they get this information and my phone number?  Did I blindly (or not read the fine print) give this information out when ordering online?

My bank is obviously not part of this program and therefore no one else should have my information!!

I got a call from this number also.  A man told me that this was a call regarding the last four digits of my debit card and told me that my account was fine, and wanted to know if I was still at my listed address.  He told me I won 60 dollars worth of gas rebates.  I hung up.  I hate thieves.

Got the same call.  I asked what company he was from and he said Vista.  When I told him that wasn't my card he asked if I recently closed the account.  I hung up on him because I have gotten several calls from different numbers trying to get my account information.

will not stop calling me. unsurprisingly does not leave a message when i don't answer. calls in the afternoon and the evening.  now i'm receiving private calls and i would imagine it's the same scammers.

Received a called from this number, my cell phone had no signal but i hear my name. It got hang up, I was checking this number in the internet and I found you guys, just reporting it.

They call with what is obviously a scam. I asked to be removed and they gave me a supervisor. I am reporting them atorney general in NC.

JUST HIT 9 and they will remove you from their list.

if you can't do this when they call you first, hang up and call them back and you will get an automated machine and then you can hit 9 to be removed. MAKE SURE YOU UNBLOCK your number if you have caller blocking

this is what happen u problably own money and there trying to collect so what they do is call you they ask u to ferify your adress and number and they just update the info they have.. then they send your info to a collection agancy so just pick up and give them a fake name and tell them they have the wrong number.
all they do give you fake company tell you they got your name form a credit card company its all a lie just do as i told u...

They called me as well. I spoke spanish when they did. Told them I did not know any english. Slick bastards called back with someone who spoke spanish. I told them I speak english. lol. Next time they call I'm going to play like they OWE ME something....."yes, I've been trying to get ahold of YOUR company......could YOU verify some information for me please?".

f***ers have been calling me from all sorts of numbers for the past week... this one just called... they don't leave a message... if i pick up i just start screaming curse words... i only do this when i'm in a bad mood

I got 2 calls from these people earlier today - while trying to sleep. I started getting scam calls a couple weeks ago when I got back from being overseas and I finally answered them and told the lady I wasn't interested in anything she wanted to offer me. Three times. Then I finally said I had an appointment to make and hung up. They called back the next morning and I answered with "Domino's Pizzaria. Delivery or Carry-Out?" And they got confused and kept asking for me, but I just convinced them they called a Pizzaria and they hung up and never called back.

I think I'll try the "City Morgue, you stab 'em, we slab 'em" routine with this number the next time they call.  If they call again, I'm speaking German.

I've been getting these calls as well for the last couple weeks.  I think I finally figured out how to make them stop.  They have to transfer you to a "verifier" who will want to send you something in the mail.  Tell the verifier that you're not interested in his company, Vista Services, and they are interfering with your work week.  He apologized and said I would be off of the list within 24 hours, and to forgive any calls in the meantime.  I'm either guessing it will work, or I'll get a sh*tload of calls in the next 24 hours.  Stay tuned....  BTW, is this only happening to AT&T customers?

Not just happening to AT&T... I'm on T-Mobile, and they just called me, but the call was disconnected before they could get around to talking to me about whatever it was they wanted. I'll definitely be hitting ignore on all of their calls. I only answered it because I thought it might be important since they did a back-to-back call with no message, and I always get concerned.

They called my unlisted home number and asked for my husband by his first name.  I picked up the phone and initially did not say Hello.  Heard laughter in the background.  Shows on my caller ID as V Mark.  Said they were from American Express and giving free gas.  My husband cut them off and told them not to call back...we'll see.

I returned a call to this number, since they have been calling me numerous times over the past few days and NOT leaving a message. When I read a post here that said "PRESS 9", I thought I would give it a try.

Instead of an automated answering sytem, I heard a female voice say "Hello" and then I hung up. How stupid are these people, really? To think that nobody would catch on to their scamming?

Just wanted to warn everybody...do NOT give out ANY personal information to this number!!

They called today (8/18/08) around 1pm.  The guy was lousy at trying to scam me.  He was offering $300 in gas credit.  He yawned in the middle of his little speech.  I told him he was doing a lousy job and he wasn't professional enough to be convincing.  He got a little belligerent and started using swear words and he even brought my mother into the conversation.  I started laughing at him and he hung up after he threatened me.  His threat included my home address.  Next time I'll just hang up.

A friend suggested the FBI, FBI directed me to Secret Service.  Secret Service told me to check my account and then call the local PD.  Local PD will contact Secret Service if they need help.

How do i get them to stop calling me???

they called me while i was still sleeping... and with out thinking i accidently said yes to there offer... when i woke up later i realized i probaby made a huge mistake and cancelled my debit card... damn it... has anyone else said yes to these people??

ya they call all day every day.  Got the same thing with the Gas vouchers.  These people are crazy they definetely got my information from another company.  I signed up for a free trial of acai berry pills, I think they are the culprit ( I am pretty sure of it actually.  They have been calling for over 2 weeks even on weekends.  Next time I answer their call, I am going to let them have it!!!!!!!

I took the call and heard the offer.  Said no and asked to be taken off the list.  The older woman said she would not only do that but add my number to DNC. Very polite and proffessional, so not all bad news here.  Just Thought everyone should know not all companies are bad just for calling.

They are same people have also been calling 201-334-9162.  Watch out for that number too.

They keep calling my AT&T cell phone... definately a scam.. they start by telling me that i am a "preferred customer" and telling me the last 4 digits of my credit card #.  they then say that nothing is wrong with my card, they just want to let me know that i am getting a $60 gas coupon in the mail.  they just need me to "verify" some stuff...BULLSH**... they got very very mad when i told them to not bother sending anything and the lady once said "You're a skeptic" and laughed and hung up. be very careful!!!!

This number called about recieving a free gas card.. now they wont stop calling.. they dont even try to sell me anything they just call and hangup.

this just happened to me also.  I called my bank and had the card closed.  Only ay to really be sure

so tell me what happened, i happen to work their and am very concerned what may happen to people after they accept the offer.  did you report this so the company would be investigated, i think that is great that you got the address for the.
