After dozens of times telling these people from the "Home Design Center" I am a renter I now just tell them I need work done on my house. They show up and crawl under my crawlspace and muck around in my attic. When the give me a bid for the work, I thank them and tell them to send the estimate to my landlord. Even though I do this, the damned telemarketing call center still calls me. So I made another appointment today. Maybe the contractor's salesman will go back and say something to the call center about taking my number off their list.

I received a call from 818-184-7857 this morning around 11 a.m.  I did not answer the call because it was not familiar to me and I figured it was some weirdo anyhow as there is no such prefix in the 818 area code.  No message was left.

These crooks have called before. They do not respect do not call laws. There is a group that calls to see when you are home and pose as home repair people when they burglarize your place. Answer but hang up. Then they will know you are home and skip breaking in. Scary!!

How did you block it?  I haven't been able to do that through my provider because "184" isn't a valid prefix so I'm stuck.

I keep getting these calls over and over. The caller said he talked to me months ago, and I knew he was full of it. I told him to take me off his list I'm not interested. He told me it's going to cost me. I told him it's going to cost him. I put that number on call block.

Been getting calls from this number on several occasions.  Unable to block them because the number comes up as invalid.  Anyone have any ideas on what to do?

Repeated calls, no one answering.  Hanging up on calls, they keep calling.  Blocked now, no more morons wasting my time here.  Criminals Violating CA and Federal Do Not Call Registry Laws.

Tonight is the second time this number has called me, in about 3 months time.  Though home, both times I did not answer because 184 is not a prefix in this area.  They did not leave a message, and I will not let them know they have a viable number, by calling them back.

So many calls from this number -- even on a Sunday.  Unbelievable that nothing can be done about all the marketing calls we get ..... and this household is on the DNC list!

Called again - blocked again - my Panasonic phone did not even ring.

Received my 4th call from these scammers.  Their calls are blocked by my Panasonic phone.

My phone does not ring when a blocked call comes in.

Everyone - PLEASE buy a call blocking phone or device...and put these scammers out of business!

I received a call from this number today (8/20/2013) at 3:15pm PST from an older lady who asked if the home owners were home. When I said that they would be back in an hour, she became very angry and said< "you are very rude to answer the phone with "Who's Calling?" Your way too blunt of a person and very rude!" and then she hung up on me. All of this was very uncalled for, especially since I was very nice and said, "Who's calling" very nicely. There was nothing rude about how I answered the phone, but even so, a telemarketer calling a potential client should be very respectful to say the least! I will never buy anything from anyone who calls from this number or from this particular telemarketing firm.

I frequently receive calls from this number.  I thought there was something wrong with my caller ID as I have never heard of a 184 exchange.  When I try to block it using my ATT call blocking service it says "we're sorry, the number you have dialed is incorrect" so it will not let me block the call which is incredibly annoying.  It also means that the number on the caller ID is not a real number, I think.

What I like to do is when a person comes on the line, I send an annoying fax tone in their ear.  I hate and detest these people and even though I am on the Do Not Call list, I still get calls.

My policy is I NEVER answer any call that has a toll free exchange.  If it's legit, they can leave a message.  Otherwise, the heck these telemarketers.

They called again and were blocked again.

One SUNDAY recently we received a call at 10:30 a.m.

They also call from 818 184-1544...called today and were blocked.

Regardless - both these numbers are blocked.

Today was third call this month..no message...blocked it today.

They called at 3:10PM.  No message was left.  BTW - this is a spoofed number..

Asked for me by first name....  As soon as guy said he was from "Family Builders' I said what I always say to Telemarketers:  "We have no money -- Obama took all our money, call HIM"  Then I hang up.  They NEVER call right back.   Some have called back but months later.   May as well have fun with these idiots!

I girl called from this number and asked if we needed any handyman work done. He knew my grandmothers first name; very disturbing. I told her no and not to call again. They hung up but kept calling until I blocked the number.

I answered but heard no response.  Silence.  Announced my name again, but still no response.  Strange, but even stranger that the first number following the area code is a "1".  I don't think that would signify any legitimate phone number.  Whoever it is, is fishing for SOMEthing, regardless of who happens to answer the phone; I just do not know what.
