How stupid are you people?????? You take the initiative to request information and provide your phone number. And then somehow you ate baffled when companies call you to offer you quotes. Did you expect to have the quotes telepathecally transmitted into your mind?????
Why not just answer the phone and see what offers are available to you instead of just screening the calls and never answering the phone????

I called this number back from a land line. There was a prerecorded message, "This call is to validate that you have given a working phone number." I applied online about auto insurance autoinsurance.lowermybills.com and they called me within minutes. They did not leave a message on my cell.
Marcia 2011-06-06 20:59:51 Unknown
Answered and returned the call, both times a recorded message to 'validate the number for an Internet quote request' and I have requested nothing... Just playing a game online. Could it have been from a pop up ad?
Rob 2011-06-06 20:59:51 Unknown
Got one of these today on a U.S. DNC-listed cell phone, so they're violating *both* rules!!
puddin tane 2011-06-06 20:59:51 Unknown
I am supposed to be on the National Do Not Call list!@!*&$$&()
Kristina 2011-06-06 20:59:51 Unknown
They call and don't leave a message... just curious so I googled the number.
Kim 2011-06-06 20:59:51 Unknown
OMG! How irritating! Isnt that why we check quotes on line? So we dont have to be bothered with the phone? UGH!
fls2rt 2011-06-06 20:59:51 Unknown
Had just clicked "send" on an insurance quote and the phone rang before I could even remove my hand from my mouse! No VM, no person, nothing.
Jim 2011-06-06 20:59:51 Unknown
Computerized message stating that the call was to verify that a working phone number had been provided in a request on a Web site for insurance shopping. Within five minutes I received two sales calls asking for a person I don't know who apparently gave my phone number on the Web site (probably because they didn't want any calls).

I just went to ITSOL, Inc. web site and requested quotes for everything by giving fake data using Eric Oster's (see first msg above) phone number (323) 850-8090 taken from complaints.com. Don't use the 800 number, the form won't allow it.
Now Eric will get harrassing phone calls.
Phyl 2011-06-06 20:59:51 Unknown
Unsolicited pre-recorded call from ITSOL rec'd before 9:00 a.m. Seeking to confirm phone number for imaginary on-line insurance application. Reported to donotcall.gov.

Same as so many others. Applied for insurance and then the call.....Any idea on how to stop the calls?
Justin 2011-06-06 20:59:51 Unknown
Submited information for a car insurance quote 2insure4less.com received a call in less than two minutes from this number. Two minutes later received a call from a local State Farm agent.
Gerry 2011-06-06 20:59:51 Unknown
Same as the others. Within one minute of hitting send on auto insurance quote on lowermybills.com, I got a call with this number.
PISSEDOFF! 2011-06-06 20:59:51 Unknown
Should''ve known this was bu***hit!! They're never going to stop calling are they??
canam 2011-06-06 20:59:51 Unknown

jsj 2011-06-06 20:59:51 Unknown
Randomly received this a call stating "validate internet insurance quote request". I called the number back and it said the same thing. I have not put in any requests or inquiries for insurance.
ian 2011-06-06 20:59:51 Unknown
Same I applied for business insurance and in less than a minute they were calling me!!!
Cyberchip 2011-06-06 20:59:51 Unknown
I think it's safe to assume if you make a request for online insurance and you looked up who called; you're reading these messages. Ditto for me.
Drew 2011-06-06 20:59:51 Unknown
Same issue here. I'd just like to know where their office is located so I can pay them a visit in person. I'm quite confident they WILL understand exactly what "Do Not Call Me Again" means when I explain it to them in new terms.
Paco 2011-06-06 20:59:51 Unknown
applied for health insurance, and the phone rang just a few minutes afterwards
thomas sawyer 2011-06-06 20:59:51 Unknown
me to i applied on line of auto insurance and my phone instantly rang this was the first of many
jeannett 2011-06-06 20:59:51 Unknown
this was on my phone
Dee 2011-06-06 20:59:51 Unknown
I too was looking for auto insurance and gave info requested for my "free quote" I had NO idea that free comes with the price of being harrassed by instant and non stop calls from this same number -818-299-9146. It might be better off to simply pick up the phone and call those companies I want to call rather than deal with this crap!
Misty 2011-06-06 20:59:51 Unknown
I didn't answer, but this helps me ID the call...thanks!
EB 2011-06-06 20:59:51 Unknown
Tried to get a home owners insurance quote...phone rang seconds later. They didn't leave a message.
Bill 2011-06-06 20:59:51 Unknown
When you fill out an online insurance quote request you are requesting for insurance agent to work you an insurance quote and call you with the details.
All this call is to confirm you gave a working phone number to protect the agents who are helping you. They do not want to pay for bogus leads.
DO NOT fill out quote forms if you do not want an insurance quote!
G 2011-06-06 20:59:51 Unknown
got the same thing. looking for life insurance quote. how do you make it stop?
Si Kovit 2011-06-06 20:59:51 Unknown
Sorry Bill, but that sounds plain stupid.
If I fill out an online quote request it is because I want an online quote. There is nothing in that inviting any calls. If I wanted calls I would have called in the first place.
Geri 2011-06-06 20:59:51 Unknown
I too got a call, but I wasn't looking for any information from anyone on the net, like others have posted. I was busy and didn't answer. But here's what I generally do with unwanted callers: Answer the phone and immediately press and hold the * (star) button. If it's a computer generated call, their computer will kick your # out of their system as invalid. If it's an actual person, they'll get a sharp tone in their ear that should deter them from calling back. I too am on the national "do not call" list and don't understand how these people can keep calling!!
