this happened to my husband today he called me around noon same number guy using the same name. i called and told him who i was he said im a third party he cant talk to me. i do collections for an atty  these people vialated every fdcpa law there was. so i called him out he hung up now i have everyone i know calling these people.

Yes it just happen to me today ask me if my name and need it to git so information and when I ask why he said you have a payday loan that's has not been pay a officer will be picking me up at my job and when I said I pay the 250 back and I'm not going to tell them anything about me I want to no how they got my ssn they hong up so where's the officer come on I was not going to fall for it so if this number8183371064 don't fall for it it's a scam

I just got a phone call from this number.... he said his name was Mark Wilson... glad I found this, he will promptly be ignored or I may just have a little fun with him and sick lawyer hubby on him;)

Just happened here at my work. If I don't recognize who is calling I just tell them "She doesn't work here anymore".  I figure if they are a bill collector, they have my number at home.  Called my home number and listened to the same message on my home line.  Where does this guy get our numbers?
He just said his name is John. Heavy Indian accent.  My son said this scam was happening to him last September. The guy told him he was going to go to jail....................

the callers name was David Miller

A man w/ a heavy Indian accent called a place of business and asked for an employee stating that this was the department of legal affairs and investigation and that the employee needed to call immediately because there is a case file against them.  I tried to get the company name out of the man but he wouldn't tell me anything other than the Dept of LA&I.  I googled the number and got this web site.

Received call/vmm on my cell phone. While listening to message same person (Indian sounding male) called my work number.  I took the call. He asked, "Have you been notified a lawsuit has been filed under your name and social security number?" I replied no.  He instructed me or my attorney to call this number 818-337-1064 (the exact number he was calling from!). I will be ignoring the call.

I got a call from a similar number, the last 4 digits were 1078. I'm assuming this is the same facility and that they change their numbers to annoy more people. The guy had a thick Indian accent, so thick that I couldn't actually get his name. He told me that my attorney needed to call him as soon as possible and when I hung up on him he called me back! I got very short with him and yelled at him & he yelled back! He told me that if I did not call the number back that I was going to get arrested and that they don't worry about reputation. He wouldn't tell me what it was regarding or who he was calling on behalf of. When I asked him about my case, he told me that I would have to call this number back and it would be explained to me in full. The number that he gave me to call back was the exact same number he was calling me from. So, I hung up the phone and called him back... The call wouldn't even go through.

I've worked for more than 1 law office. They won't arrest you on the spot. There has to be proof & papers. I told him that I had not received any prior notification & He said "You wouldn't". At that point, I knew it was a scam, but I was upset nonetheless. I called my attorney to make sure that I was correct & she told me to ignore it. I'm going to put my name on the "do not call" list as soon as this is posted.

I got the same exact call. Did you notify your bank or check your credit report?

I appreciate you posting this. The same number called me and called my work harassing, since your husband is a police officer I have a couple questions that you may be able to answer. This Mark Wilson told me my address and some other personal info and told me that he will personally be sending somone to subpeona me as soon as I do not pay back the debt. Well my wife and 2 kids are home everyday while I am working. I reported the number and I am just curious on why my county sheriff will not follow up with this number? I told them all about the call and they would not even make a report on it, they told me the best they could do is tell me not to give them any of my information and to ignore the calls. It is difficult to ignore while they are calling my work and my cell multiple times daily.

I found a really good comment on whocallsme from a person who researched these scam debt collector companies and posted everything they knew about them, even the results they got when contacting the crime bureaus to follow up on how the complaints were handled. I got a phone call this morning from a man theartening me with having me arrested if I did not pay $898.99 right then an If did not have a credit card he wanted me to go to walmart and get a prepaid card! he kept on theartening me and said it was about a cash advance from cash advance.com.
he called me 6 times and called my boss and we finally told him we would need proof and he said no! we then proceeded to tell him he legally had to send it to me if I asked for it so either he needed to send it or I was calling to states atterony. he then hung up on me and I as of right now have not received another call today!
I have also done a police report because he had ALL of my information!!!!

this number called me today and i knew it was a scam. they asked for Gorden Wright and i pretended to be him. boy did i drive them nuts.....  i was wanting names and addresses so i could mail them a phony check. Well i was bored at work so i used all 6 lines to call them back and ask where do i mail you this check. i think they got there fill of me blowing up their number for a few hours. I havent have that much fun in awhile. If you guys get a call from these foreign speaking people just hang up but if your bored call them back. For the average person be careful and please don't get scammed. have a great day and remember to bother the jerks that bother you.

This number called me and left a voicemail. It was a man with a heavy Indian accent who said his name was Mark Wilson and that he was trying to reach my husband and that he or his attorney needed to call immediately that it was a time sensitive manner and that if we disregarded this call all he could do was wish us luck as this situation unfolds on you. Kinda rude and cocky tone. I called the number back and was given a message that the voice mailbox was full. My husband called it an spoke with a man who said he needed to talk to Mark Carter and gave him another number to call and when my husband called that number the same guy pretended to be the Mark Carter person and said we were being sued for an unpaid payday loan and that we received an electronic wire and didn't pay it back. My husband asked what company he was with and told him we have not taken out a payday loan nor received any money and wanted to speak to a manager or supervisor. The guy put him on hold then came back on the line and said the supervisor was on a break and would call him back. Then he called my husband back from the first number and said that he was being sued and that he would be receiving a subpeona tommorrow. Well at this point my husband informed him that he is a law enforcement officer and that this is a scam and the guy was rude and got angry and hung up. He hasn't called back yet and I tried texting the number from my cell phone saying that I was trying to reach Mark Wilson to pay a debt that I owed to avoid being arrested. He has not responded so far. Thank god my husband being a cop is familiar with these scams but I plan on having a little fun and harassing them for a change. I hope that this helps someone else who may not be familiar with these scams and falls victim to these idiots!!!
