Got a call today at 6:47 was eating supper and they called 10 more times by 7:05, left 6 voicemails. Couldnt understand them at all until we called them back. He threatened my husbands job, bank accounts, said if we didnt pay that he would call his job and have him fired. Said they were arresting him as well. Called Local Sheriffs station and they alerted me to the scam. I reported to the website someone posted earlier as well. lets hope they are stopped some how.

I recieved two voice messages from the phone number (818) 337 3047 The same number everyone else listed. The also told me that they needed me to call right back that if I did not take care of this matter good lcuk. I called them, how stupid of me, they said a cop would be at my work tomorrow with a subpoena to appear in court for getting a cash advance and not paying it. I gave him my phone number and the phone number of my attorney. I have one because I just filed bakcruptcy. They said if i wasn't at work the officer would come to my home. I wonder if they know where I live.

I agree with you, this did shake me up a bit.  I just got called today 1/23/12.  all that you are saying he said to me.  Only the name he gave me was John Lee, and Michael Carper.  How can we stop them!!! Now when you try to call back it says the phone is full.

Yes, this just happen to me today.  Who are these people.  He gave me a name of John Lee, and Michale Carper.  Dept of Legal Affairs and Investigations.  Same thing about a loan.  Same rudeness and accent.  Who are these people!!!

Received a call a work from a man claiming to be with Legal Affairs.  My Boss would not let him talk to me.  My boss told him that anything relating to a legal matter would come to my job through the OIG.  I later checked my cell phone that I only use when I apply for items online.  This is the number they kept calling, not my main cell phone.  He said if I ignored his call he , good luck to me  and that I better call back.  I knew it was a scam when he told my boss he was with legal affairs.

Same thing here! The area code is from somewhere in California. His voice sounded like it was from pakastan or somewhere like that. What foreign name has an american name Michael Miller my butt. Scary they have all are personal information, they need to be stopped. If they know where you work, then maybe they know where I live. Scary.....

Yeah, that is what they did when my aunt started telling them that they were full of crap.  They told her she was not allowed to call that number anymore!!  I wish I could get my hands on them!!  I currently trying to get my money back!  I feel so STUPID, but they said jail and I freaked.  The problem is I did have a payday loan a year ago but I thought it was cleared up so it scared me when I found out different.  Once I came up with the money he was talking about he all of the sudden need $3000 more, I was like no way buddy something is up!!!

They called me few min ago I told my name and asked the name of the company they clamed up the more??s I asked a lady got erratic and hung up

This guy is a jerk!!  He called and told me the same thing...he even called my employer and cursed at her.  I reported him to police!!!  I think it is pretty crappy that he is trying to scare people into giving him money!  Just as an FYI, I contacted the state attorney as well and was told that even if you had a payday loan outstanding it is a civil matter and you are not arrested for such things.  The most that can be done to you for civil matters is that you can be taken to civil court and ordered payments by a judge!  I hope this guy gets what is coming to him because Karma is a you know what!!!  DO NOT GIVE THIS MAN OR HIS "FIRM" A PENNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i've been harassing them non stop now for about an hour after they initially called me. spooked me for about 2 mins and i did some googling and found this. they know its me when i call now and have all my info.., my ssn, home address, place of work, phone numbers, etc.. im guessing its from a small loan i applied for but declined a few months ago. gotta be careful with that stuff.. im uncomfortable with my info out there, it was probably sold to these scammers or they are affiliated with some loan agency. f****rs. wish i could do something.

4 calls this am. These guys are in India. They are a SCAM! Just blast a horn in there ear blow out a ear drum or two and they will stop calling!!!!

I just received this EXACT call from a guy with a thick accent telling me he needed my attorneys information for a lawsuit that I was being sued for a debt.  He didnt tell me what but told me I would get a call from his supervisor ALEX Watson.  the number he called from is 818-337-3047.  IT IS A SCAM.  BEWARE

Crazy how these people get away with this CRAP!! I had the same thing happen and have been sick to stomach since yesterday since they told me a sheriff would be showing up at my work this morning!! uggghhhhhh!!!!

What should be done to make sure they arent messing with our  credit etc?

I jus got a call from that same num i called the attorney general and then found out who he was a mañ named thomas lyon from california whos a scammer.

I have received four call from this same guy today and he left me four voice messages (two were blank and the other two voice mails were telling me that I must call back immediately and he claimed to be from the Department of Legal Affairs and Investigations. He indicated that I had taken out a cash advance loan and didn't pay it back and woe be on me for what was about to befall on me.  He said the sheriff would be coming by my office to arrest me.  This person has a very heavy middle eastern accent.

How can these people get away with this type of harrassment and scamming.

Whoever this MF is called my cell phone twice, i guess he couldnt hear me. So he called my job and left a msg with my office. Once i recieve the message and called him back, i called like 3 times and it was goin to voicemail sayin the voicmail is full. Then finally i got him and he said that he was calling on behalf of some payday loan, i owe x amount of money, the police will b at my job in the morning to arrest me and im goin to jail for 6mths, drivers license will be suspended, bank accounts will be frozen, passports frozen etc. I was really shaken up because i thought he was serious. I been on pins and needles all evening until i called a friend who is a bill collector, told me about this web site and i b damned!!!! Truly a scam and he got me....im tempted to get on a flight and go to cali to whoop his a**!

I got the same call for two days if you keep calling the number back you will get the same person. He will then claim to be a lawyer with legal documents he needs to fax. When I told him that he would not be able to fax them do to third party disclosure it and that if it is regarding a debt he must have the wrong Megan because I owe nothing to anyone and I monitor my credit daily, he said something I could not understand. When I explained to him that I work in debt collections and attending law school he hung up. Same guy he has now given me 5 different names. I explained to him that if he is going to call and bug me I can call him and bug him all day too. I got the same message today at work. when I called this number 818-337-3047 I got the same answers you got. I would not get any info untill the amount was paid in full. His name was alex aston. He would not give me a date the loan was taken or what account the money went into. How do we report this
