I have been receiving several calls each day from these nuisances, both on my cell and home phones. If I press 1 to speak to someone, and politely ask them to remove me, they hang up. One person, when pressed, said their company was Credit Card International. They have a website, but no way to request a way to stop calls.

My caller ID said Service C and this number I didn't answer didn't recognize number.
I am on the National do not call list and have received lately various types of calls including political calls from Michele Bachmann, I'm not registered to vote on either party, have had so many calls must be at least 75 calls I call that downright harrassment, I have returned calling their number and asked to be put on their do not call lists as I'm elderly and after that many calls refuse to vote for her or anyone that harrasses people like that.

The people calling are crooks they call all the time, it is always the same, the actual telephone number changes but it is always the same.
The scam is they a will help you with your credit card interest rates and balances. these are just crooks do not know why they can continue to operate but they.
I can guess maybe they are part of the Obama stimulus package, as there only want to take your money.

FYI: When you or your answering machine picks up a call, TeleZapper? emits a special tone that tells the computer your number is disconnected.
I believe call centers use this for their angry call-backers.

I tell them I have no cards (I don't anymore), they hang up. I get the final notice message several times, guess they can't count. Am on do not call, They are using OLD, Old list.

Top question; "How do telemarketers get my telephone number?"
Buyer Beware !!

I am getting regular calls from these scam artists. Isn't there someone who can stop this fraud?
Bill 2011-08-11 20:52:55 Unknown
Although this may provide you with some sense of satisfaction, there's a few things to consider.
For one, it is most likely some poorly paid slob who is trying to make a living and can't get a better job than these call center deals.
Second, they could rate your number as a "highly propable contact" and sell it to other telemarketers thereby getting you even more calls.
And worse yet, if you really tick them off, they can spoof your phone number for their future calls meaning you get call backs from people mad because you called them trying to sell something.
The advent of Internet phone service means that it is possible to trick caller ID with any number you want. The laws on this are actually pretty liberal so even though they aren't supposed to do it for criminal purposes, the odds of them getting caught, prosecuted and sentnced are extremely low.
The best solution is just don't answer,
Bill 2011-08-11 19:54:39 Unknown
Got this one today. Ignored it like all the others I don't recognize. My phones have assignable ring tones. I assign a standard recognizable tone to every legitimate person who calls me. Anybody else gets the default tone.(I picked one that was particulary objectionable!) If it's not the tone for legitimate callers, I just ignore it. If it's important, they will leave a message. I usually look them up later and 98% are these kinds of calls. This system works pretty well and you can tell immediately without looking at the caller ID. I'm on no call lists and it doesn't seem to matter. Often these guys fake their numbers so when you report them it doesn't do any good.
I used to toy with them and although somewhat entertaining, it gets old after awhile. And often it's some poor sap working the only crap job they can get making these calls. If nobody ever answers, these businesses eventually go away.
The ultimate solution is just don't answer. When you first start taking that approach you think you might be missing an important call. After awhile you get comfortable with it. And look at it this way, if you weren't there to answer it, you'd miss the call anyway.

They just called me. I missed the call, so I called back and I got an automated message that said that the number was out of service. How can they do that? Is there no way to change this?

ID as Credit Card Services with a recording to press 1 to lower your credit card intrest. When Steve got on the phone he thanked me for calling. I informed him I did not call and that I was on the national do not call list he stated 'F*&K the list and hung up

Called about lowering my CC interest rates. We don't have any credit cards. I pressed '1' to ask to be removed from the list, and I got accidentally added on to an ongoing call. Then I got hung up on.

just received a call from this number--caller id said "service c"--did not answer as I did not recognize caller. No message left on my machine. Do Not Call List no good--we receive about 20 calls a week from various numbers trying to sell us something or basically just trying to get info. DO NOT ANSWER.
Steve 2011-08-08 17:13:18 Unknown
This is an offshore scam outfit. Don't give these people any credit card info!!

A reminder - "do not call" expires every 5 years. You must renew.
Starfire1113 2011-08-06 18:25:13 Unknown
I did not know the number and did not answer and there was no message left from (818) 721 - 6320. I was hoping it was my daughter's grand mother on the father's side. Unless I trace it I won't know however, almost daily I get calls from companies that want to sell me something. I found that all the ads on the internet give your info away once you buy or fill in any forms online. Amazing what people will do these days.

yea happened to me i asked to be removed and they F*cking hang up no me.. it's stupid...
tash 2011-08-04 17:46:37 Telemarketer
They have called me (cell) three times. The first time it said it was my "final" notice. ok, don't remember a first notice whatever. If it's final good. Hung up expecting to not be bothered again. Got another "final" call. This time I tried to get to a real person and call got disconnected. Whatever. THIRD "FINAL" CALL I got to a real person and he started in on his sales pitch and I said "take me off your call list" he tried to go on about how I needed to lower my interest blah blah. I told him I don't have a credit card (I really don't). He asked if I had a debit card, yes, but you can't lower interest on something that doesn't have interest. He was nice and told me to have a nice day before we hung up. They better not call back.

Keep receiving calls from this number, have asked to be removed from their calling list, as I am on the do not call list, and they just hang up.
