I just found this venue for postings. My situation occurred previous to submitting this message. The call is initially computer generated stating it is "bridget or rachel from cardmember services. I pressed "1" finally to request being put on a do not call list. The guy "mike" said repeatedly, as I tried to talk "ma'am, ma'am, ma'am" "shut up" "shut up" over and over. He then threatened to "bi*** slap me" and told me he was "watching me from across the street". I put my phone on speaker for my husband to hear and "mike" proceeded to tell me "I'm just gonna have to come over there and rough you up and your boyfriend or whatever he is". I called the police from my landline then let them try to talk to him via speakerphone. He tried to make his voice feminine claiming I bought some furniture and owed them money. I have a high credit score and no outstanding debts. The police did trace the call out of North Carolina as others have stated. Thanks to those who have provided that info. I sure would like to know how the info was obtained as I did try that to no avail.

No one else reading this page can ''make these pests stop calling'' or "remove" your numbers from anything. These forums are strictly for call recipients to share their findings. They are NOT direct open channels to the phone bank boiler rooms we comment upon. If you can provide a business name and/or details on the caller's stated purpose, you might get a more helpful response.

Right now it looks like another credit reprice scammer. Usually they are hard to find, which tends to rule out cease-comm letters and lawsuits as remedies. It would be helpful in any case to file complaints with the FTC and attorneys general.

tried to return their call and it is disconnected.  i thought the no call list is suppose to take care of these calls.  i guess there is a way around almost anything.

I'v been receiving calls from the same number and they left a message saying there is no problem with my credit card, and that they want to talk about lowering my interest to 1%.  That would be ok, except I have more than one card and they don't tell you who they are.  I called the number and like they do with everyone else, they have a message answer telling you that the number has been disconnected.  What's with these people????

They call with a recording saying they have a "special offer" to lower your credit card interest on "your account."  It's a scam.  I don't have ANY credit card account.  Once connected, I've repeatedly told the human beings on the other end to remove me from their call list and not call again.  One operator said rudely, 'well if you want to keep paying high interest on your credit card that's fine with me' before hanging up.  Again, I don't even have a credit card, so their phone operators are either stupid or think the potential victims they cold call must be.

The Attorney General of North Carolina (the area code used) should investigate and put these scammers out of business. ANY business that is conducted or initiated using dishonesty is by definition engaging in deceptive advertising and practices.

I've been getting these calls latey also.  I haven't had a credit card in over 10 years.  I strated getting them about three weeks ago when I upgraded my cell phone and downloaded some new apps from the Andriod Market.  Most I don't answer but after reading some of these comments I wanted to see what they wanted.  "there is a complaint against your social security number" this so called Kenneth Wallace at extention 2203 said.  What is the comlaint I asked..."in regaurds to your credit card payments" he said.  He tried to back track once I told him I didn't have any credit cards and suggested maybe someone has opened one in my name.  Whatever!  I hung up and went to the do not call register and entered my phone number.

They are also doing this from the phone number; 972-241-5611 - same company "Credit Card member Services"

So my question is...why don't we all get our friends to start calling them all day long?  I'm quite serious.  I have unlimited minutes and I am going to start doing this now and have my friends and family do the same thing.  Run up their phone lines and see how they react.  I'm sure it won't put them out of business but I'm betting it will bother them and at least take up valuable selling time on thier part!  Hwo's with me?

received a call from these jack***es today.  this is the 4th number to put on my blocked numbers with VERIZON in just 5 days!!!

I have received several calls from this number offering money for my debts.  When I press the number to get no more calls it does no good at all.  When I press the number to get a live person He hangs up instantly when I say I don't need to borrow...

My wife and I have received a number of calls from this number.  My wife has repeatedly asked, then demanded they stop calling, but these demands have consistently been ignored. Tonight I tried calling the number shown on my caller ID, but was informed the number had been disconnected or is no longer in use.  This is curious since I had received a call from this number less than ten minutes prior to my calling.  I have also updated our numbers on the National Do Not Call Register.  We are not interested in their gimmick and do not wish to receive any more calls.  What further can we do?

This is PHH Mortgage....they have called from about nine different numbers trying to deceive me into answering the phone...even some local numbers inmy area.

Received call on my cellphone.  Should'nt have but returned call, rang, voice said "number no longer in use."  Later checked online search only to find out it was from a telemarketer Andrea in Asheville SC, which received several complaints.  I hope I wasn't charged for this call with my phone carrier.  FYI, I also receive constant unwanted emails from Andrea.  Hope this helps.  Thank you.

GOT A CALL 10/2 @ 11:00.CALLED IT BACK THE NEXT ON 10/3 SAYS IT'S DISCONNECTED.

Just got a call on my cell from this number. I tried calling it back and not a not available message then it rang busy.

Missed the call on my cell phone this AM.  No name/No message. One of the other posters mentioned that it was from "Card Member Services".  I have waited for the "Card Member Services" operator to pick up and told them to take me off their call list.  They just hang up on me and call again in a few weeks.  Frustrating!

They're not saying they're from *your* card's cardmember services. The name of the company, if the scum will even talk to you after you ask, supposedly *is* Cardmember Services. I get calls from them once a month or so. They're very well trained. As soon as they figure out I"m trying to get information out of them and not really interested in signing up they get rude and hang up on me. I've filed at least 4 DNC violations on them in the last year.

09/29/11 received call...did not answer.  I have recently received a NEW Amex card - it's possible that these people have received my information from Amex as I NEVER give my phone number out unless absolutely necessary.
