I get this scam call all the time, how do I stop it?  Mine was the Gate City bank about a Mastercard that I have never had.  The caller ID is 8010, or "unavailable"  so how do I block or stop it?  I don't want to be called at 1 am, 7 am, etc.

Just received a message from this number. It just said it was a courtesy call for me but did not say who the call was from or what it was about. I did not call back.

Just sat down to eat dinner and the phone rang. The girl asked for me and then said there has been suspicious activity on my Bank of America card. When the call came through it said "Private Caller". I asked for a phone number to call her back at and she gave me: 1-800-362-6299 and said I had to call her right back..Instead, I called BOA to check my account. There was no problem with it. The girl asked for the phone number and said it was not one that BOA used. This happened to me last year, using BOA credit card account, only it was a different number..

Just got that same call just now. JP Morgan Chace Bank account in locked do to secerity reasons press 1 to unlock your account. I never pushed anything they just repeated it, I just hung up.. the number read 000-000-0000 no call back number

Same story number was 100000000, JP Morgan CC locked,  They wanted me to enter my credit card number....I was born at night, but not last night..TF

Guess I will join this parade. My call came on my cell while roming in Mexico. recorded voice said they had put a security block on my Metcaf Bank Master Card. Have not had a Master card in 40 years and have never banked at Metcaf Bank . . . . just keep phishing guys . . . .

I got a call from 830-504-8875 as a voice mail on my cell phone.  My credit card companies don't have that  phone number. The 8-second call said that my Master Card debit card was suspended because of suspicious activity.  I have a Master Card, but it's not a debit card.  I knew that the call was bogus.  
Now, what do I do?  Do I call the Federal Trade Commission?

Just got this call, with "debit card" as the only identifier. People, they are just naming random large banks. It has nothing to do with you personally. Filed a complaint with the FBI.

I need more information. Please, I've been asking all day.

got a call telling me it was an important message from Pioneer and that my mastercard was locked. I have no Mastercard. I just hung up.

I just received a robo call saying that there was suspicious activity on my debit card and to press 1.  I did, and it asked for my 16-digit account number.  I immediately hung up, figuring it was a scam.  Glad I did!

They wanted me to press one to unlock my locked credit card with Great Southern... I don't have a card with Greath Southern... wouldn't do it anyway without talking with my bank.

I received this call and let it go to voicemail. They identified themselves as Great Southern Bank, with which I have an account. They stated that my debit card was locked/frozen. I called the bank here that I deal with and was told that this is a scam call. DO NOT give them any of your information. The woman I spoke with said that she has received numerous calls already and this before 3pm.

This number is associated with a current phone scam, claiming to be from Great Southern Bank.  Do NOT respond in any way to this.

RECEIVED A CALL..LEFT MESSAGE THAT MY GREAT SOUTHERN CREDIT CARD HAS BEEN LOCKED AND NEED TO PRESS A NUMBER TO UNLOCK IT.

Thought it was my mom ...who lives in Texas same area code...guess its a good thing I'm not talking to her right now. Been going on reported for almost 2 and a half months way to go for our justice system.

Got this message on my cell phone saying that my debit card with a local bank was locked and that I should press 1 to unlock.  The call came in Wed, Dec 13th at 4:30pm. I found the message this am. I called the bank and my account was fine. They were aware ot the message so apparently they blanketed the local area,

Said my Great Southern Bank card had security issues, I do not have a card from GSB.

I received a call from this number at 1:25 in the morning with an automated message from "Central Bank" telling me about suspicious activity on my MC and to press 1 to find out more.  I do not bank with Central Bank.

I got a message from this number saying that my Central Bank MasterCard had been locked down due to suspicious activity. I don't have a Central Bank account or a MasterCard.

Called saying my mastercard had been locked and press 1 to unlock. They wanted all my personal info...sorry but if you are my card holder company then you already have my info and would not be asking for it.

How do you block the number from your phone?

Hum... just read all the above posts. A little disconcerting. How did they get my info? Apparently they've been doing this since the beginning of October (with this number) based on when the comments began coming in. What can be done about it? I plan on calling my bank tomorrow and having them follow up on the number, but what else can be done to get this stopped? How did they get my number? Stranger still is they called a different cell phone than the one I am registered at the bank with. But how did they know it was my bank? What really threw me was that I used the card about 5 times today as I was doing Christmas shopping. So I thought that maybe that looked suspicious and my bank was taking care of me. I hung up on recording and didn't press "1", and wrote the number down. I had to check it out. Be careful everyone. And thanks for the creators of this forum... Well done!

I received a recorded message on my cell phone on 12/13/12 that my credit card with Central Bank had been shut down due to suspicious activity.  They said to press one if I wanted to activate the account.  I do not have an account with Central Bank and have never had an account with Central Bank.  I am pretty sure a person would give you a call regarding something this serious and not use a recording.  Sorry, not falling for your sorry scam.  Get a life you bunch of losers before you burn in hell.

They just called and left a message with my bank name and said that my debit card had been suspended due to unusual activity. I called my bank directly as I thought the automated message was suspicious. (The bank has called me previously when their were issues and it was always a live person). I was told that this was a known phishing scam, and that my account was okay as long as I didn't give them any information.
