Debt Collector
This is Conn's now, I had a contract with them purchasing a DVD and laptop computer, I went to pick up the laptop I bought and they did not even have it in stock yet so I went back to my local store and purchased a different computer. I received a new contract with a different number. I was told that regardless of my not purchasing the laptop my payment amount would not lower and they would update my contract and send it to me so I made my first payment which was half of what I owed for the player and service warranty.  They told me I would receive the revised contract with the option to add it to the new one for 1 monthly payment.  I never received the revised contract and has been 4 months. They call me every day at least 4 times sometimes over 10, at work, at home and on my cell. Last call (6th person I spoke to) I answered and told them I could not in good conscious make another payment without updated paper work, who is to say they do not try to hold me responsible for something I did not ever pick up. They of course tell me that all the other stuff that the previous 5 people told me was wrong and a manager gets on the phone, he apologizes saying he will get this taken care of and get the revised contract to me, he asks for my email address which I give for him to email me the revised contract. That was over two weeks ago, no contract just junk mail from them. In the meantime my 2nd contract payments are always paid on time. How hard is it to revise the contract, I mean really? Maybe I should see if there is some legal action I can take, if they act like this, hound me to pay for something I did not purchase, how do I know my other contract might never end or something happens with that?

Today i recieved a call from 1-832-266-0545 at my WORK phone line.  A man left a message saying he was from the US investigation crime bureau and that my name was listed on a document, that this was a serious legal matter, and even gave me a case number.  He said that it was for an internet loan in March 2007.  I have had a payday loan, but it is paid and not with the company BMG group.  I had no idea what he was talking of.  VERY scary.  he had my full social security number, address, phone...etc...
When I hung up on him, he in return called back to my WORK number, and said some file would be downloaded, he was going to call human resources where I work, and that only GOD could help me now.  Other details, said his name was Patrick Wilson, with a VERY VERY heavy arabian accent, from the office of Daniel Black.  This world is a super scary place any more.  Why don't these jerks go out and get a real friggin job like the rest of us????

I received a call today stating the exact same thing.  Fortunately I was by a computer at the time and was able to google the phone number he gave, which was 832-266-0545.  I told him his name was all over the internet and he then hung up on me.  It is kind of scary though, because he had my work number and he had my social security number.  He also mentioned Midland Marketing Group.

I also just received a call from someone claiming to be Patrick Wilson from US investigation crime bureau. This call came from 832-266-0545. I have reported this to the FCC, FBI & the Attorney General's office. These people are horrible people & they DONT'T stop calling. The last time they called I told them that I had reported them & they cursed me out with words that I had never heard before. I didn't have much to do that day so while I was sitting at the computer I just grabbed my whistle & called them every few minutes & blew my whistle in their ear for a couple of hours. This time I just told them that I'm not dealing with them & hung up. I've tracked a former number that they use to California. The AG's office there said that these people are actually not in the US but buy phone service from here. My phone company told me who their carrier was & I tried to report it to them but they said that they actually sell the numbers to other companies who then sell them to even more people. Crazy. The only way to keep them from calling is to change your phone numbers. I'm wondering if you can sue the people that the payday loans were thru because obviously personal information was released without permission on a lot of people.

Hello everyone,

I experienced the same situation described by many other folks. They called my best friend and questioned him as well. What I'm wondering about is the purpose of such calls? Why would they call you just to harass you? I had a payday loan which they alleged was unpaid although it has been paid nor did I make a late payment. So I'm wondering if they are trying to collect as much information as possible to try and scam you or what.
