It is a sales pitch, they want to sell you a water softner and promise a $20 gift card from the store you bought your major appliance. Dont do it , it is a hard sales pitch and you will have a hard time getting thwm out of your house.

They want to sell you a water softener.  I got a call from them Monday after I purchased an appliance from a big box store on Friday.  They want to test your water and give you a sales pitch.  They promise a $20 gift cert from the same big box store, so I guess buyers of major appliances are sold to other appliance vendors.
