I'm in Atlanta,Ga and i keep getting call from this number and a texas number about my car warranty is about to run out. I have told them both to take my number off thier list but the still keep calling. Yes my number is a cell and how they got it I would like to know?

I just got back from California and checked my cell.  Got this call on the 18th at 10am.  No voicemail, so I put it into the search engine like all long distant calls I get.  I'm the second person from Vegas.

Looked up number on Google, it identifies:

I get this call ALL the time and I've gotten the same call from at least 3 different numbers. Everytime I get it and call back or press 2 the number's either disconnected or I get hung up on. Besides the fact that I do not own a car there is no way for me to need to update a vehicle warranty. Isn't there someone or something this can be reported to?

I am getting really tired of these bogus auto insurance and auto warranty calls.  Lets all call this number about 5 times a day and just hang up.  Maybe they'll get the point

They just called me. They have been harassing me daily. I answered. It's a call bank in India. They are trying to sell auto insurance for a company called Warrentech. I did some research on Warrentech and they sell insurance for many different things and never pay out.... lot's of unhappy customers out there.  I am also in Denver, CO

I agree with Zack.  Just got a call but when I tried to call back, it states that the number is disconnected.  Strange.

I just received a call from this number (8/18/2008), 1 843-248-9071. A Google search landed me here, so I thought I would chime in. Let's all give this number to some "get a free quote for... bunion removal, gutter cleaning, anatomical improvement devices or medications" types of businesses that are particularly annoying. That would be sweet revenge. :-)

I hear that.  We have to do something, how did they get our numbers, I live in Denver CO. This happened to a friend of mine, she ended up having to change her number and that was months ago.  I tried pressing 2 once so I could be removed but they just keep calling.

I just got a call 843-248-9071, but didn't answer it because I didn't recognize it.  Looks like I'm not the only one.  I get at least one of these calls a day, usually for vehicle warranties.  It's ridiculous.

This #843-248-9071 calls me at least once a day.  I usually hang up on the message but decided this time to press 2 and find out why they can't remove my #.  Of course when I asked what their company was they hung up on me.......

They call me and everyone else I know about stupid auto insurance.

Received a call from this number moments ago--did not answer it because I did not recognize the name or number on my Caller I.D. (I do not know anyone in South Carolina) and also because they fit the profile of names and numbers recently used by the auto warranty scam "industry".  No message left and there's no way I'm calling back after reading this string. Tbis is as tleast the 50th time I've been called from almost as many different locations and, since no one can seem to get them to stop calling, I'm hoping that many months of no responses will finally wear them down.

Luckily, I was able to reverse the number, although Im not sure if this listing is current and correct so dont take my word for it...

Yeah I answered the call because I was selling something on craigslist but there was no one on the line.  So when I called back, it said disconnected.  So I googled the area code and was shocked to see the exact number in the results.  If they call back I will pretend to not speak english that well and see how long I can f*ck with them...

843-248-9071 = they just called my cell, they left message. it started as 'don't get caught without a vehicle warranty'. i hanged up deleted message. same ol same ol scam

I am in the same situation as many of the people who've posted.  I get random calls at all hours of the day from unfamiliar numbers, and when I google them, there is usually a real person who the number belongs to, followed by these online reports of the calls being a scam.  I'm not sure what I've done to get my number on that list, but I am sick and tired of getting the calls.  I have not answered any of them,  but I'm only assuming if I did, I'd hear the same car warranty sales pitch that everyone else has gotten.

Identity theft is so rampant, so don't answer calls if you don't recognize the number. Wait for a message, if none, then you know it wasn't worth answering in the first place.

Just got a call from this number too.  I have received many calls just like this one in the past but from different phone numbers.  DO NOT proceed to follow through with them, it is a scam.  They claim they are offering car warranty services but they just want more of your personal information.  In the past I tried returning some of these phone calls and i either get a busy signal, the recorded operator, or an actual person.  I asked them who they were affiliated with and how did they get my infomation.  The lady kept giving the same reply which was something like, "This is the Car Warranty Service and your car's warranty is about to expire, would you like to renew your warranty?" I continued to question them and they finally hung up on me.  I googled all these other phone numbers and basically get the same answer: scam.  Also, I received the same very vague car warranty renewel notice in the mail.  Do not respond.

843-248-9071 is one number belonging to a criminal "boiler room" in Bangladesh currently calling millions of americans via free internet phone lines connected to routers in the U.S.A. Their main scam is identity theft but they also sell non-existant products such as car warranties to naive people.
