This number shows up on my caller ID as "DEVIN and NICOLE". Answered the phone, but no one on the other line. Assuming they hung up.

I called these people back today got a gal named Karla. I asked some questions her answers were  incredibly rude! Told her I wanted my name and number removed from the list, her response was to laugh. This is a nothing company to even waste time with!

Like the others, the call was one of those that makes you think "hmmmmm."  Thank you, to those who have posted their suspicions. The call I received was almost verbatim to those already mentioned.
*How did they have my cell phone number but nor my email address especially if they were going off the info on my resume?
*Who is paying these folks to do this solicitation?
*Sometimes it is hard to get a timely response from others from whom assistance has been requested and here is a place calling to offer it without first being contacted.
Yup, all too convenient and too suspicious.

They got ahold of my Google Voice number which I haven't used in a long time, but typically use for public places like Craigslist ads and such to avoid posting my real cell #.  I didn't answer but the message about Career Movers was the same.  The fact that they have this number and not my real cell means that they obtained it via data mining - not in connection with any job search as I never used the google voice # for job search info.

Plus, I look for jobs using only a small number of internet-based resources, and always contact the companies I find directly anyway.  As others have said, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.  I'm not sure what the company wants from me but I would bet it would be as much personal info as they could get out of me (to turn around and sell themselves).  That's how these companies work, exploitation.

I just received a call from this same number in question 843-264-7022 at 404 pm.  Caller stated that
he is from an outfit called career movers? and that this service would help me to find jobs
in my case Queens,NY.  I then proceeded to asked the caller a lot of questions regarding this employment service.   The caller asked if I would be interested in furthering my education in which
I answered No to this question.  caller asked me to verify my email address which at the time
I did.We ended the conversation with that he would be sending me a link and that I should register
and create my profile.

After I hanged up. I could not help but feel  suspicious of this call and decided to do a search
of this telephone number, In doing so I found a link to this site that confirmed my feeling of
suspicion.

I just got a call from them but didn't answer and have now blocked that number on my blackberry.  I use a product called Smrtguard and I can block an unlimited call blocks.  It works very well.  I checked their website and it's pretty skimpy for a search company.  They don't even provide much background.  If you click on "contact us", you will see that the email address is "gottahire.me".  That extention is a newly made domain name where you can create your own extension now.  The only way that you can protect yourself is a stealth program like Anonymizer where your ip address is spoofed so they get a bogus ip address and can't track it back.

This just happened to me this morning. A lady was talking fast but asked if I was still seeking employment. I answered yes since I have been turning in applications to various place and I thought they could have been one of them. She asked me for my e-mail then I started thinking every application I filled out would already have my e-mail but gave it to her anyways. Then she asked my zip code and said there were some job openings in my area and she just needed to know my work history. That's when I knew it couldn't be for any of the companies I was applying for so I told her I was busy at the moment and I would check out the e-mail. She paused said fine and then hung up. I then started looking up the area code and got this website. Why would someone calling from south carolina be calling me in southern california with jobs?
Hopefully I do not receive more calls from them because it looks pretty fishy to me.

They Called my last night at around 530 or so. They told me I signed up on their site for job searching abilities or something. Now, while I have been doing so, I will be honest, I don't remember careermoovers. Last night I told them I was not intrested and the girl said ok. AFTER thinking I figured I would give them a call back to see what they had open (job wise).  ******READ******** When calling the number the girl called me from last night, it rang and a recording said "thank you for calling careermoovers are rep with be with your shortly" Then a ***GUY*** answer and said is this (My Name) I thought that was weird that they somehow know it was me and I was never prompted to state my name or phone number or anything!!! How The Heck Did They Know It Was Me???? So After picking his brain for a min or two (and no he couldn't answer any questions) He told me he would send me an email, but that they already sent me one once, but he wuld do it again. OK so I never got the 1st email nor the 2nd email.

What really got me thinking is  HOW THE HECK DID THEY KNOW MY NAME when I called and had not talked to anyone...Its jsut weird. Stay away. They told me they were web based. And all I can think right now is that they are trying to hunt down ppl with blackberrys/iphone who bank online (YES they can hack into your bank account thru your phone) I don't have one, so not to worried about that for me.

Just ues your head, if it sounds wrong, it probably is.

Good Luck

I got a call from this number today saying they wanted to assist me in finding a job and that I registered on their website. I don't remember registering on a career movers web-site. I told them I would pass and the guy seemed a little pushy. He said he would "just take my name off their list." I replied fine and he hung up.

I don't ever remember a employment site where people actually call you, so it felt really wrong. If we are applying for jobs via secure employment sites, how are these people getting our info. Should we just mark each resume "CONFIDENTIAL"?

A shady company...when asked for specifics (who is paying this company, clients they represent, etc.) I received a long pause, and then the same script again. When pressed, they admitted in a roundabout way that they "make it easy for folks to go back to school". The afore-mentioned e-mail never materialized. Besides, if they had my cell phone, wouldn't they have my work history? A disgusting tease at the minimum and a cruel scam at worst. For shame.

I have been getting calls from this number. My caller ID keeps showing this number belonging to "Devin and Nicol" NOT a company name. Finally answered today to tell them it's a wrong number, and he told me they are a recruitment company called Careermovers. It all seems very odd. If they have my phone number from a resume, then they'd have my email address too.

I received a call yesterday while I was out.  They said they were Career Moovers and wanted to help me find a job.  As I do list my cell phone on my resume's it is quite possible this is how they got my number.  If that is so, it had to be a very old listing as they read back to me my email address I hardly ever use anymore.  The sent me an email after the phone call

This call was fishy as they did not have a specific position for me, and had to ask what position I was looking for.  They said they wanted to help me find a job, but this is the first time somebody has called me to just help me, and they did not explain there much about how they work.  I am suspicious and trying to research.  Without some good feedback from the internet, I will not be replying to this call / email.

I have copied the email the sent me below.

I've received several calls from this number to my cell phone.  I don't give out my cell phone to unknown people, only family and friends have my cell phone.  When I answer no one ever responds and the call disconnects.
